Great video, I was just wondering what exposure settings captured. I have the sigma 150 - 600 f6.3 at longest zoom and just wondering what your iso was when it's overcast sky's 😊
That looks to be a spot that deserves multiple trips. I think you could really get some exciting photography done there. Thanks for letting me tag along!
For sure! And being so close to home that will be nice and easy to do, got that goldcrest to photograph and want to get some more images of the long tailed tit too 👍
Nice video again Jo. I look at my bird photography just the same way as my fishing, sometimes I catch a huge fish and other times I catch nothing. But its still nice being there. Have a lovely Christmas.
Another nice video. Been from Northern California and the Western United States., it's always a little odd to see your wildlife reserves are surrounded by so many houses. Anyway, merry Christmas to you and your family.
Nice shot of the Fieldfare, they're attracted by the apples both on the trees or dropped on the ground and it's well worth spending time waiting for clearer shots. You've had a productive and busy year and I've enjoyed watching your videos- looking forward in seeing your channel next year.
ust found your channel 😀. Love your relaxed style of presentation. Look forward to seeing future videos! I got my first (good) photo of a Goldcrest this year (UKs smallest bird). You should maybe have set up near the Yew bush/tree or was it Leylandii(?); I think they like to hang around in evergreen trees (in my experience of them 😀). Good luck in future outings and Happy Christmas!😀
Hi Jo lovely video of you out and about photographing the birds in this little local reserve, I know sometimes when you go out it can be tough to find the birds/wildlife sometimes you have just got to photograph what wildlife there is and sometimes it's nice to find yourself having to create creative images out of a common garden bird. 🐦 I did have a chuckle though when you mentioned seeing people carrying their cameras on the tripods and that you're a bit hesitant carrying yours over your shoulder, I have to say I do this a lot, but only dropped it one 🙄👍
😂 Oh gosh! Least It's only been the once .... it doesn't help that the tripod I am using, with the centre column removed, the legs get tangled up on themselves 😂 I did have a great time out, and I am really happy with a couple of the blue tit images I got. I am going to try and set up a bit of a garden layout in the new year, and set up some nice photo spots I can use.
@@JoHeard sounds like a plan, Yeh in my garden i have just introduced a bird bath/reflection pool using a boot tray from amazon, at the moment I have a grey squirrel, half a dozen black birds, goldfinch, greenfinch, dunocks, robin, blue and great tits, magpies, ravens, coming into my small garden everyday, I put out mealworms, nuts and sunflower seeds hoping to get some shots in the reflection pool soon once they get to use it. Good luck with your project and looking forward to seeing the results. 👍
Lovely video Jo. Always an uphill struggle at this time of the year. The first Blue Tit shot from the bridge, with the tripod, is a real cracker! Merry Christmas to you and yours (if you celebrate it, of course). Look forward to seeing more of you in the New Year!
Merry Christmas Jo to you and all your family, thanks for the last 12 months, lovely video as all ways mate take care of yourself stay safe hopefully see you again out in the new year
Another great video thanks for sharing. Long tailed tits are my favourite small bird. I managed to photography a baby one in the summer. Really in joying your videos it’s inspired me to make some more. I have been away from RUclips for a bit sort of fell out of love with it.. you are getting some great shots! 👍🏻
It's a 3 legged thing, punks, Travis, it's pretty old now, but they have other similar ones 👍 I take out the centre column when using the gimbal head 👍
@@JoHeard my tripod just broke, so I was looking around for tripod/heads and that's how I found your blog. I do wildlife and birding (mostly owls) and looks like it's so hard to find stuff in budget. I just watched your gimbal head video, but then couldn't decide for a tripod. Thanks for answer!
Dropped the ball on this one and completely forgot to add my EXIF data and species names to any of the images 🤦🏼♀️ Doh!

Was still an enjoyable watch. 😎

@ good luck… the more you photograph wildlife the luckier you will become👍🏻
What a pleasant talented person. Where’s Skylar? Best Regards.
😂 she'd have been a nightmare! I took her out for a long walk when I got home to make up for going out without her 😂
may I ask ur tripod?

I liked those views of some blue-tits sitting among the branches. They're quite colourful.
Thank you 😊

Its pronounced blue tit, not yak ...
