At such a young age you can become obsessed with sexual ideation when the body is surging with hormones. If this child was left to his own on the internet this could become worse. Once the child becomes used to getting satisfaction from daydreaming about these ideas it would be really difficult to break this thought pattern which provides pleasure but it all started with obsessive thoughts.

These parents are amazing. Their child felt so comfortable with their love that he confided in them, even though I'm sure that was the worst thing for him to admit to them. And they didn't criticize him they just wanted him to be loved and helped and they took precautions at home before deciding it was time for the hospital. Well done. I think if more people have parents like this they may not have criminal offenses.
Edit : judging by the comments, it's obvious many people still don't understand these situations. The parents did not "raise a child to think rape and pedophilia is ok". Mental illness can happen to anyone despite how they are raised. Its no different than a healthy woman giving birth to a child with a physical defect. Its not her fault, it just happens. When a child is born with a mental problem, its also not the parents fault. It just happened. The difference is we cannot see a mental problem like we can a physical problem, so people choose to believe it isn't real. Please, educate yourselves.
