Amanda was the only one who believed that the music teacher was innocent. They would have listened to her and investigated more before just focusing on him immediately as a suspect.
That's why believe the victim is so problematic because of people who lie. It leaves no room to be unbiased. Anybody can say anything at all. I've seen it numerous times. There was just a young black NBA player who was fasley accused this year I think it was. The girl lied and had her friend lie on the stand. The entire case was based off nothing. I don't why they even indicted him. The girl had like 6 other DNA in her and none of them were his. Smh.
@jakeilano6821 this was one of Olivia's biggest failures, especially since a similar crime happened when Stabler was still her partner. It took the ex-husband setting his ex-wife ON FIRE for Olivia to realise that she was lying.
@@laurafabianmarrero Yes the girls. The teenage girls are the ones who felt hurt and made up the story not the parents. The parents was just believing their kids without thinking too much of it.
Those girls are the perfect example of the dangers of the "self-esteem" movement. Telling people they are amazing at something their whole lives, when they really aren't, while giving them whatever they want just makes them vindictive and lash out when they are confronted with the truth or told no.
That’s why honest communication with children as early as when they can first ask a question is always better in the end. Don’t dumb it down, don’t hide the truth from them, be honest! Instead of telling your child that they’re good at something they’re not, encourage them by saying that they’re enthusiasm is what they’re getting right, but maybe they should try something else.
@@j.pnewcomer1069 Please don't be a parent, both of you! That is just as wrong as lying to them... Steering them toward what is best for them is the right approach and the primal job as a parent! The only silver lining is the hope that Jackie sued the NYPD and got a big cash settlement. Olivia is too quick a lot of the time to believe an accusation as soon as it's made. If she says "it's my job to believe the victims," someone should say "only after you've proven they're victims."
Out of ALL of the episodes in SVU history, this one probably pissed me off the most. A gay, black man's entire career and reputation were destroyed and his name, thrown into the sh*t forever. All of that was awful, but you wanna know what really, really gets to me?? *How easily it could've been avoided.* I mean, if Liv and the gang had just slowed down and taken the time to really listen to what Jackie had to say, they would've seen that those two boys were being coached into lying by their sisters. But of course, as always, Liv chose the victims and didn't even listen to the accused's side. Now, an innocent man's life is ruined, the little b*tches responsible got off with a slap on the wrist, and the NYPD got even more bad credit than it already had at the time.😠😠 It's also how Amanda clearly knew that something was off about the case right from the beginning and didn't say anything.😤😤
Nah, hell nah. You have to apologize to me, with the same energy you accused me with. Have a news conference and tell the people, you made a huge mistake and give him an apology. Tell them you accused him, without doing a thorough investigation.
You would think that after sending an innocent man to jail for 8 years because benson was more concerned for the victims, benson would be act more slowly and wait until innocent till proven guilty but no, she didn’t learn her lesson and a man’s life was ruin
Having seen the show, it’s remarkable how often the team not only arrests the wrong person, but also occasionally engages in police brutality towards them. They really should have been sued ten times over.

A twisted version of 'Mommy knows best', given how Brooke picked up some hefty pointers from her mother, when she was playing hardball with the divorce.
These girls were nothing but self-centered, narcissistic, spoiled brats. Once Their brothers get older and realize what they have got them involved in, they're going to hate them for the rest of their lives.
The damage the girls inflicted on their brothers is going to be their punishment. It's not something that will go away, the brothers and parents will always doubt whatever those girls say going forward and as the boys grow up and better understand what happened they'll likely resent them for making them the face for child molestation that didn't happen. Also even their light sentence will affect their lives in a major way, they're NEVER getting into another dance program as a minor and are likely not going to cut it in the adult field either. Loved the actor for the accused guy, he nailed the part. You could feel the dawning horror of injustice that he realizes he can't fight against. He can sue them for slander though, his entitled damages for character assassination destroying his high profile career and them having pleaded out will give him a strong case.
The teenagers in law and order are always the most twisted and heartless kind of criminals. Thinking they can get away with everything all because they're "kids." Making themselves look like the victim and their parents defends them even after they are charged for the crime that they have clearly committed.
I had this happen to a friend of mine. Sadly a week after the charges were dropped he killed himself. This episode reminds me of him and pisses me off!!!!
I hate that jackies life was ruined and those 2 girls didnt get a fitting punishment. On the bright side those 2 managed to become "famous" but not the way the wanted to and will most likely never become famous as they were hoping for. Not after all that web of lies. I mean not a single coach would take them as students. Everyone of them would run away from them once they see them. The price of "fame", right????
I disagree; I think those two have an aspiring political career in their future. They fit the criteria: Dishonest, lack of morals and a vindictive drive when they’re denied what they want, or the opportunity to get ahead
So all because not wanting to have a big chance of fame, leading to vengeance for a simple paid back and refusing to accept the feedback. A bit delusional? In most parts, I can understand but getting framed on all this? Unbelievable.
I remember this episode. The sisters coached their brothers and lied till the lie couldn’t be held up anymore. All cuz one girl was jealous that her “friend” got more attention (because she actually had potential and the other girl didn’t). Plus the damage to his reputation and “confronting” him with it in public! NYPD seriously dropped the ball with this one. And then the parents made it no better
Billie Porter is the most incredible actor and entertainer out in the world today. I need more of him. I hated this episode because I know how careful gay men have to be. I was educated in fine arts, and half of my friends were gay. I could trust every one of them with my young son.
2:07. Those horrible teenage girls might be to blame for Mr. Jackie having his life ruined, but the real culprit of how his fall from grace began is that lawyer or whatever she is. Surely she could’ve waited just a few hours until after his classes were over and he wouldn’t have looked so bad by comparison.
I hate it when people hurt children the very thing that sets me off is a child molester or a abusive brat, it is unacceptable and quite vile that anyone would dare to hurt others especially children.
Young teenagers who make up something that gets the victim put through everything and be like oops yeah it isn't true should be jailed themselves. Even with the recent reveal in real life that the teenager girl lied to her father that her teacher showed anti racist strip/story in class which got spread through the community as a gossip. Then someone else wasn't happy with the gossip and beheaded the teacher. The girl lied to her father because the teacher booted her out of class or something and was embarrassed to reveal to her father. After the trial she simply said that she was sorry.
This is a scary scenario, but it makes you think. I would gladly impose life in prison for all pedophiles if they're guilty but to think how easy it is to ruin a persons life over something trivial.Wow! This episode made me think that this could actually happen to anyone. Even if you're found not guilty, your life is pretty much ruined
I have a friend that was like 19 when a friend of his (f16) was kicked out of her house by her step father, my friend let her stay at his house. Next thing you know, he was in jail for SA. It took 2 years for him to be released. The girl ended up admitting that he didn't SA her, but he step father did. My friend had to move out to another state because of the harrasment, no one believed he wasn't guilty even thought it was proved (the SA kit didn't had his dna in any way). I know I'm a female and, as a female, I should believe all victims but, what happened to my friend proved me that not all victims are victims. Btw, my friend's dad has money, he's in the military. The step father was trying to get money out of them, he's in jail right now. Also, it is not FU money, it is just "I can have a comfortable life" type of money, not even rich. But yeah. I’m on my second year of French horn and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Music is my escape, and yes, it’s so, so difficult, but it’s like a puzzle. TW!! topics of sexual assault and grooming involved in this comment, do not read this if you have trauma or have experienced something similar to the topic of this video I had a music teacher named Mr. Miller. This was in fourth grade and I had a severe candy addiction. This will sound weird, but he had this mat that he cleaned often and would put candy on it for us to eat. We weren't allowed to use our hands. I now realize that he was only trying to see our behinds because a few months later, about several children came out saying that he took them into his closet, and made them 'stroke his chicken' while singing so it wouldn't look suspicious. I'm now in tenth grade and still am shocked that my favorite, motorcycle riding, always happy, and just awesome teacher ended up being a predator. Those girls never got punished. Jackie would've been 100% justified if he went down the same route as that ex-husband who was falsely accused by his wife in the episode Burned.
Couldn't they have checked for fingerprints on the "magic egg"? Sure, there might've been a lot of traces of fingerprints. But there could've been ones that couldn't have been accounted for, like the two girls who had no business being in that classroom. And if the teacher says it isn't his, then his fingerprints shouldn't be on it; on the chance he was lying, then his fingerprints would be on there.
Perfect example of Woke Gen Z. These entitled girls were angry that they were told they have no talent that they forced their brothers to lie about a kind man hurting them. I was ready to believe in his guilt, but i had doubt. Especially with the way Mega Karen came out of the woodwork lying. She helped to encourage the lies. The girls hurt their brothers physically and emotionally and hurt the teacher too. Mega Karen probably orchastrated it like she did with her ex husband. I feel bad for the boys, ex husband and the teacher. This is too sad and too common. It needs to end. And the girls should get more than a year's probation. It's like they are mocking children and the man who's career was almost destroyed.
There’s a moral to this story,DO NOT MAKE FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF CHILD MOLESTATION, if you do, then you should go to prison for as long as a real serial Pedophile should. Most importantly, 1 of the 7 things God Hates, A Lying Tongue. To all who are sinners, repent and believe the gospel of Jesus, for though we are born as sinners, we can die saints bought by the blood of Jesus Christ so that we could go to heaven.

You know, when allegations were made against Woody Allen the conclusion of the investigation was that Dylan Farrow's answers appeared rehearsed and that she struggled to tell the difference between fantasy and reality, yet videos like this show just how easy it is for these things to happen.
So in other words… those girls Ruined that Teachers Career.. just because those girls wasn’t good enough to make it at all in singing?! That’s some bull! 😮😮😢😢
You think that's terrible... Oliva started gasping and tearing up after she realized they put away the wrong guy... who spent half of his time in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Before realizing that mistake, when a similar crime (from the one he was charged with) occurred once more. She went right back to him in Prison. And began treating him as if he were scum, and asking "Who's his partner" on the outside. But, when the realization moment came, she really started to act as if "What have I done," I remember saying "Yeah, you screwed up big time..."

@@Liztastaney7 Blank people? Who's that?
That is just as wrong as lying to them...

as someone who has gone through something very similar when i was 4 this really made me feel some feelings that idk if i can even describe
I disagree; I think those two have an aspiring political career in their future. They fit the criteria: Dishonest, lack of morals and a vindictive drive when they’re denied what they want, or the opportunity to get ahead
