I personally love seeing content from not NYC or LA content. For me and probably a lot of other normies those cities feel very out of reach like I know for myself I’ll probably never live in those cities but it’s so interesting to see other cities around the country that seem more normal but also unique cause you don’t see it all the time online.
true! im from nyc and still live here, but honestly many of these influencers portray nyc in a way that most new yorkers dont live it. it sucks- there's good and bad things about living here, but not at all the way influencers make it out to be
IM SO proud of you for making the best decision for YOU. Your apartment is amazing (hehehe) and you’re gonna THRIVE & I can’t wait for the moving content :) ❤️
Random cupie anecdote: My crazy polish mom got a cupie while at a refugee camp in Italy. It is one of the only toys she was able to pack in her tiny suitcase as a ten-year-old girl immigrating to the states. To this day she displays the cupie doll on her nightstand. As a kid, I would hide the cupie in my parent's bedsheets to freak my parents out before they went to sleep. It never worked but I thought it was top tear comedy as an eight-year-old.
My mom always tells me “when you move from our home and in with your husband…” I’m always RETCHING because I’m 30 and never lived away from my parents (started caregiving for my mom as soon as I graduated college) let alone… well, alone (aka THE DREAM. I CANNOT imagine moving from one full house to another home with another human living in it! So… I told my boyfriend so, as a head’s up lmao. I’m living alone someday, damnit! I LOVE being left alone! I dream of the things I’d do alone in my own place.
As a 28 year old pregnant woman married for 3 years I strongly agree with the statement that you should live alone before you move in with someone. The time I lived alone was when I truly learned who I am as a person
name suggestion for cat #2: satsuma (links with clementine but sounds v different, starts with an 's' just like syphilis, so so so many nickname potentials, very cute)
Clems gonna be such a good big sister!!! I have a kitty about the same age as clementine and we just got him a younger brother who’s about 16 weeks old and they get along so well!!
As someone who lives in Canada and has done both coasts. Lived in high rent and low rent, city and rural town I’m almost 25 I truly doooo NOT care about NYC or LA thing that RUclipsrs are all about. (Cringe, not like other girls) But seriously I think it really doesn’t apply to many people and what our life’s have turned out to be like after the pandemic… I’m sorry but id rather not watch someone spend thousands of dollars on rent to live it up in the city, like go them….but I’m also working two jobs and going to school like an “average person” . I’m trying this year to follow less people that are selling me lies that I negatively compare myself too and I’m following more people with genuine issues and content. I’d like to just see your content and join you on whatever adventure you and Clementine decide to go on ♥️
as someone trying to make similar life decisions rn you make me feel so comforted. thank you nicole xo cant wait to see moving content, cat adventures and further convos with vegan god
having two cats is 100% worth it. i have a boy and girl and its very fun. however the boy cat might try to dominate clemmy (or at least thats how it is at my house). my male cat tends to bite the girl cats neck, whenever you see this knock the cat off or spray it with water or something to discourage it.
Thank you for making this! When I went to NYC for the first time in 2018, I fell in love and became obsessed with it. It wasn't until I visited last December that realized I didn't have that spark for it anymore. I thrive in cities but it made me realize that I loved DC more. I like how you said you don't have to move somewhere just because other people are. We have to follow our own life paths and dreams. I felt weird because literally, everyone wants to live there (including past me) but then I realized I don't have to live in a place I don't feel called to anymore. Thank you for vocalizing what you feel!
as soon as you said every single time i would go there i knew you'd say you'd get anxious LMAO i've lived here my whole life and it absolutely makes my anxiety worse
ive been binging nicole’s videos for the past week even though ive already seen them all and its so crazy because it feels like she moved into her apartment so long ago and like her talking about getting cowboy and i realize it was literally just last year which seems so close much more close in time but i feel like this was all so long ago
I’m totally with you, I appreciate NYC from afar but could never picture myself living there. I really value small/medium town/city living and all that goes along with it. The only thing in my mind that’s a real pull to NYC is the walkability/bike friendliness.
I just relocated to Philly and am living alone for the first time and can say it has been so good for my mental health!! Proud of you for making the decision that feels best!
I’ve lived in and around Philly for the last few years (went to Nova) and I’m moving back in the next few months for work! Can’t wait for the Philly content and vegan restaurant recommendations ❤️
I once made a spreadsheet of every state based on each state's climate/taxes/accent/natural disasters/etc and determined NC was the best state. I've never been there but moved to CA last year 😂
I grew up in Wisconsin and what I've learned from living here is that you can have fun living here, and living in Kenosha we live right next to the Illinois border so things you can't get in this state you can get by driving 5 minutes away from my house, but Wisconsin has always had a very home-y feel to it. Just everything about it feels like home. You can move cities but it's harder to leave the state... even if it's to Illinois. No one likes Illinois lol.
Yay for Philly!! It’s such a sweet city if you’re open to it! Like a less anxious version of NYC but it’s still super chaotic and unique lol!! I’m so lucky to have grown up in Philly and you’re gonna love getting to know it. You should totally make more videos about where you’ll be and how you like it once you settle in!!
Heres some suggestions for getting kitties used to eachother: keep the new kitty in a closed room for a week or so and let them smell each other and such. Once the kitties are able to see eachother, they will recognize the smell wnd not be as stressed about a new cat. I also recommend a product that helps. Its an air freshener type thing that has calming smells for cats, and it worked well for my kitties when we had to get some loud cleaning done in our house. ❤❤❤
I know what you mean about the feeling of moving to NYC. I've always wanted to move to LA and even visited the city this year to get a feel of the city. Suddenly I have the urge to move to NYC even though I haven't looked much into it. Also as a PA local, I'm so tired and bored of this crappy weather. 😭
Am I the only one who wants to live in a quiet little town? I can’t imagine myself happier than being near nature and my anxious little mind craves this
Hey Nicole, from New York. NYC has a lot of very different areas where you can live like forest hills for example. Every neighborhood is like a different country. Not even exaggerating. You can get an apartment in the outer boroughs (with A LOT of space) it just depends where you look. It's not for everyone though. Anyway, just wanted to say that about the city, and Your videos are great!
ive never really thought of philly as a possibility for me but seeing your videos and hearing friends talk about going makes it seem like it could actually be a great fit for me one day :)
thank you for this video🥺 my final highschool year grades came out today and i really needed an uplifter and your videos have always been my comfort place 😭💚
laughed aloud so many times during this video! good luck on your move, I hope your facebook marketplace acquisitions go smoothly with no murders 🚫 and no more robberies! 🚫🚫🚫
AHH IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!! Even if you dont think it's exciting, i can assure you that we all LIVE for the moving/set up vlogs so pls film some🥺 also its so refreshing to see someone move to a place that feels attainable rather than the glorified cities of ny or la
Damn the NYC thing speaks to me. I keep telling myself I’ll move there but I get a lot of anxiety there and I’ll be giving up so many things that are considered luxury… like in unit laundry lol
Made myself wait all day to watch this vlog and it was the most productive day ive had in a long time.... and the video did not dissapoint so in conclusion thank you nicole i owe you my good grades this week :)
Oooh this is so exciting. I currently live in Canada but my partner lives in Philly, and I'm doing my darnedest to try travel nursing down there. I hope this move goes smoothly for ya! You deserve all the best!
i get you, i only live 40 minutes from nyc and whenever I go there it stresses me out. The media makes me want to move there sometimes but it’s just too hectic for my brain. I’ve only been to philly once but Im definitely interested in hearing more about it from you :)
I totally know what you mean about the pressure of picking a place to live. It seems so nice to live far from family and somewhere new but I just know it would not be good for my mental health. That seems so lonely! Great job making the right choice for you! ☺️
this video hit HARD tbh im 16 so i have a couple more years of school but as you were saying, yes being an only child with family literally all around you and cool places making you anxious to experience alone felt a little too real LMAO
AHHH!!! Congrats Nicole!! I also went to school (right outside of Philly) and then moved away after I graduated during the pandemi Lovato and I couldn't keep my mind off her so I'm also moving to Philly this summer!!! SO EXCITED for moving content and to watch you go through this adventure. I've always felt like we've had kindred vibes and this makes me feel so much less anxious about my decision, literally can't stop smiling for you Philly is so awesome!!
I currently live in FiDi/Lower Manhattan and they have to spray the sidewalks with bleach every morning bc of the dog piss, so, you know, I feel you. I wanna get a lil victorian house in the mountains and never have to deal with weird men on the street again
Awee congrats cutie 💖💛💖 so happy to hear that you made that choice ! As someone born and raised in Queens NY… I never go to the city lmaoo it makes me so anxious. It doesn’t work with me, you’re also not missing out, it’s beyond romanticized.. I love being raised here but it’s not what people make it to be . Wait till people experience nyc for what it really is 😂😭
Deadass. Born in the BX, but my Grandma lived in So Ozone Park, and I had so many happy memories, even in tough circumstances. It's sad that going back isn't a possibility rn, but I'm happy in Canada (dual citizenship ftw) where I can have access to more for way less of a burning hole in my bank account 😂
come to boston nikki !! it’s definitely not as flashy as NYC or LA but it’s cozy and beautiful and i feel like you’d like it here. plus youd still be close to your fam :-) hit me up if you ever do i’ll take you to the best lil coffee houses ☕️☕️
omg I love Philly!!! I still live in NJ, but my bestie moved to the Bella Vista area and its so cute. We've been slowly exploring more and more neighborhoods in Philly. Have a bomb ass time
Omg your relationship to Philly is me with Chicago! I had such negative feelings about it because when I went to grad school there I just wanted to die the whole time. But now that I’m away from it I’m remembering all of the reasons I was there in the first place and why it’s such a great city… and now I’m considering moving back. I’m an only child myself and oh my god the wanting to go far and not want to at the same time is so relevant! I feel the pressure of it every time I take any decision! Am I gonna pursue my dreams or am I gonna stay and help my family who’s been there for me as I long as I can remember ? 🤷🏻♀️
I truly thought you were going to end this video by saying you're moving to NYC LOL but I'm SOOOO happy for you for finally being able to move out!!! Looking forward to all your future content in Philly :)
it's such a JOY to see you landing towards your goals !!!! and yay more cat content but this time with clementine & her brother :D i wish you the greatest on your move & stay at Philly nicole !!!!
Omg!! I'm thinking of moving to Philly for the EXACT same reasons! As a photogapher, I've always wanted to live in NYC for the opportunity but there's something so intimidating about NYC. And not even only that but it's so difficult to afford rent and get around (I like grocery shopping in my car, ya know?) Anyways - if I move, I'd love to hang out and explore the city together!!
Could you post a video of how to sell things on Depop? It might be self-explanatory, but the only thing preventing me from doing it is not knowing how to do it (especially the shipping part). Also, I find the idea stressful and your voice is soothing so I think that alone would be helpful
Fair enough, you cannot see yourself living there so you don't! I am sure you will do just fine in any city you will chose to live. I never been to NY, I would love to, but in terms of living, I will always choose Tuscan countryside! :)
I personally love seeing content from not NYC or LA content. For me and probably a lot of other normies those cities feel very out of reach like I know for myself I’ll probably never live in those cities but it’s so interesting to see other cities around the country that seem more normal but also unique cause you don’t see it all the time online.

whooaaaa, meta! (this is like the image of the TMNT shaking the Power Ranger's hands)

that is the perfect time for my vids

Omg, I’m also from Indiana, and I’m going to Uni in CA but am considering Philly for grad school!! How exciting

We love to hear underrated opinions from you!
i love NYC content it has the best vibe as do your videos :)) happy for you keep getting it queen
Omg!! I'm thinking of moving to Philly for the EXACT same reasons! As a photogapher, I've always wanted to live in NYC for the opportunity but there's something so intimidating about NYC. And not even only that but it's so difficult to afford rent and get around (I like grocery shopping in my car, ya know?) Anyways - if I move, I'd love to hang out and explore the city together!!
my mom has been a goth since like highschool (like 80s/90s) and she would take cupie doll heads and wear em as earrings

i love your videos so much and that you are honest to yourself and to us. hope you'll have an amazing time!
yes!! i have been waiting for this
ahhh exciting for this chapter of your life!!! lesgoooooo
