I am so happy to be seeing all these our African American brothers and sisters in Africa. It makes me to rejoice in my heart.
This is absolutely beautiful, our people are coming back home. Let's embrace them & support their businesses.
Been to our motherland 5 times and on my 6th. They are going to be successful..they have the right attitude and business mindset to make it work out..im now inspired to vist Uganda..plus the sisters are so beautiful..
It's great to see an African American couple who has been able to shed some of the Western trappings for a more grounded and connected life in an African country. Both Uganda and Kenya are great places for different reasons as you pointed out. I luv them both. They don't need to be compared, just enjoyed for what they are. I plan to return to both places soon, as I have friends and business associates in both. Great content for us here in the US Diaspora👍🏾
Four kids looking good like this? You are a happy girl.
About the Indian guy, He’s not the only Indian who thinks that way. We give them too much in terms of business and social status and they take it for granted. Even here in Tanzania they deliberately lower standards on food and service until you call them out then you see fear in their eyes. They are soooo corny.
No they are disgusting and disturbing for Africa citizens there safety!
I was parking my car in a public parking area a black dude came out to tell me it was an indian man space. I told him get lost tell your indian guy a Tanzanian just park in your space. When he came out looking mad he saw he my stature he left 🤣🤣 they dont respect us.
Africans worship all of these non black people they're so indoctrinated 🤢😖
@eddysimba6829 They don't because unfortunately a lot of our people kiss foreigners ass.
This is a strong couple. They are true partners in life. They had a vision, planned and executed. A great interview with lots of depth and scope of knowledge. ❤❤❤
❤
❤..I feel like we need a family reunion in Uganda for the Day 1s..🎉
Uganda is the country of food.!!! Meets beef milk potatoes Matoke yamu fruits chicken Uganda can feed all the world food no comics organic food fell happy you are Home.!!!I love you❤❤all your family.!!peace upon you.God bless you I'm Moses Bukenya UK 🇬🇧
I love it when I see African brothers and sisters coming back home.
Great interview. Wife inputs and insights where great with so much detail. I wish we had more coverage on the husbands experiences in depth, he seems to be someone u need to give uninterrupted patience to run through his thoughts. I give ‘em props for pulling that with 4 kids. Wow.
Love love love your podcast. I'm 67 years old. I don't care if I NEVER get to Africa. It's more important for these YOUNG Diasporans to make the journey. My heart is with you. I pray for your success. ❤❤
We hope u come visit us!

That fine Africa is not for everyone.
I'm sixty five years young I traveled solo to five African countries in 2022 and the begining of 2023! On my back to Ethiopia in January of 2024! ❤ The motherland fresh fruits and vegetables not like the poison in US. Go for it!❤
Your Age should not hold you back . I know people in their 70’s that have visited there. Go for it Young Lady . I have visited twice and God willing 2024 I shall return for a third time .
She looks Elegant and pretty.
He is Handsome.
Those kids must be so cute.

I landed on this today , my friend wants to relocate to uganda I hope this helps her
This was a good podcast, right mindset of AA coming to Africa to establish, and be successful
Thanks Kenganda team, I like your guest choices and you always ask right questions. You have really mastered the talk show game, can’t wait to meet guys some day 👏🏾
This couple is so likable and seem realistic about life and the world around them. They seem respectful too.
You guys spoiled us I be expecting content from you guys everyday 😂
😅😅😅😅
Great lovely couple, wish them all the very best in Uganda
Welcome to Uganda. We wish you and your family all the best.
I visited Uganda and liked the place and the people plus it was affordable.
Enjoyed this interview ❤
What a great talk..thank u kenganda team ,this family deserves the best !
Beautiful and humble couple, welcome to Uganda 😊
Uganda is a cool place but I’m relocating to kenya.
You will come and visit! Lol
@@kcchristop I’ve been to Uganda several times.
@@yohana7290 are you Ugandan or African American?
@@kcchristop never said I wasn’t. So why you lol
@@jm-je4tl I’m American ain’t nothing African about me
i understand where Oshay coming from with this issue of power outage, in NY 2003 the was a power outage (i forgot how many hours it was off, maybe 12) but the when it happened people thought it was a terrorist attack. Our leaders in Africa really have to take power, water, internet supply seriously as commodities for any serious society today
That's very true. It's very annoying. I have lived outside Uganda for long periods and electricity is a given.
You guys are doing a great job marketing Africa in general and Uganda in particular. Great listening to this channel.
Agreed.
Sure
I loved this sooooo much!
I love listening to your podcast, and I really admire the family and the decisions they made. Many of us would like to leave but don't have the courage to face the unknown. What is strange we all line up to the come to the USA through
That Trump moment between Oshay and dude was funny 😂😂😂
Wish that lovely couple the absolute best of luck.
Uganda and Kenya are both beautiful countries and it shouldn’t matter where you live just go where your heart takes you
Uganda and Kenya are both beautiful countries it is rong.!! Kenya you don't have coffee all coffee in Uganda European and America called Kenya coffee. You Kenya you work with European and America to put Uganda down. And Tanzania.
8 mins in and I’m loving the is interview. Tho is couple seems great off the bat. I love what they’re doing. I’m gonna subscribe to their channel.
We sppreciate your kind words. ❤
That's right. You can feed 6 people in Africa for $20 a week, assuming you don't eat out and buy your food from the local markets.
That's a dream. I couldn't even imagine spending $80/month and eating good
100 a week would be a dream and im a single person no kids.
As far as you don't include pizzas, cornflakes, cheese, burgers and wine 😄
@@hassshoban8206 So they must be talking about rice, chicken, and corn/beans. Ok.
@@AccountabilityFit a chicken for 6 is about $10, beef $5/kg. Unless they are vegetarians.
Great interview, however let's uplit each other so we can grow together. Each African country has its strengths and weakness. The biggest problem with the government of Ghana is the President failed to put measures in place for repats and just sent out an open invitation. It's like not sweeping your home and inviting people to pay you a visit, nevertheless, we are Africans whether in the diaspora or on the continent, Ghana may not be for everyone and it does not have to be.
We need our people to spread across the African continent
Oshay, please let's not bring one African country down to uplit the other. Let's rather promote African Unity and Black Excellence
I was born in Guyana but spent 30years in America. I have moved to Rwanda . I would like to talk with you.Rwanda is beautiful.
Where in Rwanda?
These guys are builders. You can tell from their drive. They see opportunity where others see challenges. These are the real African Americans who built America! These are the type that should be moving to Africa!
Im preparing to move there I can’t wait🎉
Love it love it considering joining and moving over too
Interesting conversation, I believe it is always important to remember that Africa is not a country but a continent and it is necessary to state certain experiences based on where you are transacting and not project and make stereotypical statements without validity. In addition, West African way of doing things is different from East Africa and vice versa each county has its own subtle nuance and each has developed in different and own unique ways sometimes influenced by the culture.
Opportunities are relative and subjective, and even moving from the motherland to the west is a downgrade for some it just depends on what you are looking for.
Bring your boldness to Africa
Uganda is very good with real estate business, farming and trade!!
Excellent point that while the opportunities are abundant, you must be on the ground to maximize on them. Africa isn't the best option for hands-off investors.
I love these conversations. My Pop's name is Julius 😇
Im crushing on thos couple ❤❤ welcome to UG !!!!
Great show guys! This is my new source of inspiration and insight as an African that grew up around the west and highly westernised African countries and am now living and working in Africa, Liberia to be specific.
It truly is extremely difficult to setup businesses legally because it seems the government and our leaders tend to prioritize profits more than civil provisions and in turn that has shifted the societal value priorities towards quantity above quality.
So what the Indian business man said was an acurate observation, he just used the wrong words in expressing it, African generally look for quantity above quality simply because they're use to managing with poor quality but have learnt , through wars and famine, that quantity means longevity, provided that you impliment effective security and preservation methods
They guys! How about one of you organize a Costco wholesale franchise and a Home Depot hardware store!
Very good insight and ple shouldn’t miss out on the many opportunities uganda can offer because of the stereotypes..👌🏿
❤welcome home watching from cape Town south Africa
They answered the question.
I enjoyed this interview. I loved the energy, the guests have to learn a wee bit of Luganda or talk with the Ugandan accent to get around. A word like Banange will get you places!
Or when buying you say MEKA? Instead of how much?
Exactly
Uganda is a multi ethnic society, it has nothing to do your Luganda centric
Very intelligent couple, I saw there channel yesterday and subscribed
Please the link?
Great conversation....let them try Nairobi Kenya and have a western lifestyle....Uganda is cool but way slower and there is scarcity for modern amenities..
She speaks so well compared to some Of you. He must be the most happy man on earth
Have them on your show again.
I have a suggestion, about the sound, I can barely hear the male guest. Coz I can hear Oshay and Maya well so i can't have it on high volume, could you mic your guests as a backup?
In Uganda, Bunyoro Kitara under Luo-Babito stopped the spread of slavery into Uganda and resisted British Colonialism in Modern times . Also in South West Ethiopia the Luo-Anywaa/Anuak Kingdom resisted Arab slavery and defeated the British in 1912 in Gambella Ethiopia . In Sudan/Lower Egypt along the Nile the Luo-Shilluk Kingdom under Reth fought the Turco-Egyptian rulers of Egypt and conducted raids on the Arab north therefore slavery did not advance southward into East Africa .
The Dinka,Luo and Nuer created fierce warrior classes and these conflicts spilled over into modern times with the first Sudan civil war(1955-1971) known as Anyanya I rebellion against Arab North .
In the coasts of Kenya , Tanganyika and Zanzibar Arab slave traders led by Tipu Tip occasionally raided the interior East Africa and captured the Bantu Akamba and Ameru and coastal groups such as Mijikenda but the resistance limited widespread enslavement like happened in West and Central Africa .
In recent times in 1964 a Ugandan Luo-Langi,Field Marshall John Gideon Okello staged a revolution in Zanzibar that stopped more than 500 years of Omani Arab Subjugation and enslavement of the black bantu populations .
The Omani Arab Sultan Jamshid Bin Adullah fled Zanzibar after the revolution in January 1964 to the UK and 17,000 Arabs died in Zanzibar.
Tanzania was then formed from this Unification of Zanzibar and Tanganyika .
When the Arabs conquered Egypt in 639 to 649 AD they attempted to advance Southwards into Sudan ,Uganda but were stopped by Nilotic and Nilo-Saharan groups hence slavery did not spread into the interior like in West Africa .
Portuguese managed to capture slaves in Angola and Congo but were unable to spread into the interior where hostile Nilotic groups such as the Dinka, Nuer, Maasai, Turkana, Toposa, Luo, Karamoja existed in North East and East Africa .
The White Portuguese ,Spanish and English slave traders attempted to enslave the Banyarwanda in the 18th and 19th century but failed .
King Rwabugiri IV was the first to come into contact with the white Europeans resisting slavery and preserving Rwanda's borders .
To this Day Rwanda is similar to an ethno-nation state in the continent .
Thanx for the history !now I know y east was not affected that much by slavery ..we really hard great leaders 🎉but finally the British succeeded to colonizing us .
@@terekab5883 👍
I need to look into Uganda, if grocery shopping is that cheap
Uganda 🇺🇬 is also known as a Food Basket (in addition to being the Pearl of Africa)❤😊
Lol auston said it as well while in ghana a month Ago.. Uganda is the cheapest.. that’s why it’s a great place to start on the continent or use it as base to explore the continent…… but it can also be expensive if you get carried away.
@@drequploads6142 yes. Uganda 🇺🇬 shilling exchange rate to the US dollar is very friendly 😅 With a few dollars one can have a blast in Uganda 🤗
I think you will probably have to "slow down" and drop the abrasiveness. Our "slow" culture is based on reality here: we are not in a hurry because we live in abundance. It might not seem obvious but Africa is the richest place on earth. We did not have to go across oceans to rob other people or their resources. Africans have never needed to go anywhere to conquer or occupy other foreign territories for wealth like other races. We hold a five minute greeting "session" because we have all the time to do it.
We love that about Uganda. We're adjusting.
But the condition of you infrastructures i.e Roads, Healthcare, education needs abundance of attention. Unless it you and your country men and women are satisfy with Falling into muddy puddles when it rains. Also, most Ugandans would not be running to the West given an opportunity for a Green Card from the West. If you want the Black expat back, do make sound like mist of Africa gas a GDP great than the West
@@mandyb6414 I understand the poor state of the infrastructure and other development indices. This is a a slightly different dimension, though. Development is a slow and painful process. Some of our communities are yet to fully accept western clothes. But we we will get there.
Well one thing's for sure, we ain't in Kansas anymore!🤣🤣🤣. Big u[p Kenganda, big fan from Nairobi +254. Love you man! Shout out to the couple from the Midwest.
Who told this couple that they need a million dollars or have to marry a Ghanaian to do business in Ghana. They could have gone there to see it at first hand. There are so many ex-parts doing business there.
Exactly
This is nice
Hmmm...interesting convo I wish them all the best in Uganda. Kenganda team could you guys post your shorts when you're not posting a episode a day. Or chop up your past episodes like how vladtv does it 😅.
yes we will!
One thing I have gripe with is the lack of good development in Africa. Our infrastructure is a mess. I am very angry with my government of Nigeria for not being able to put development at the forefront. That does really make me feel sad.
Nigeria is too Complicated to work with. How are you gonna reconcile with the Strong fundamental ideological differences between the Secular South and Feudal Sharia Core North, not gonna Happen.
Uganda is so easy to get business license! I know a kenya business based in uganda and has operations in all east african countries!!
Lagos Nigeria traffic is the Worst, I have never been to Uganda but I believe they will be better
🔥🔥🔥
I respect them for following their heart and moving to Africa/ Uganda, especially with 4 kids. I have a feeling they are going to be successful in Uganda. Having said that, as a born Ugandan who has lived in N. America for almost 40 years , i can’t see myself doing that unless i have good residual income and even that, it would be on a temporary basis, 10 months here( states) and maybe 2 months in uganda. I m just so used to the conveniences and lifestyle here, that it would be hard for me to adjust. BTW is the husband looks like p.J. Tucker. Google if you don’t’ know. Peace.
How can anyone expect Black Americans to give up everything that America offers for a lesser Country.
Good interview! Looking for a Ugandan tour guide and car rental service to experience Uganda. Help!!!!
When are you coming? You can reach out to joanita and she can help you?
When admins say 1 million or $250,000 I think there still using their metric which doesn’t convert exactly to what they’ve saying. It’s still in the lower thousands I believe.
Ugandans in Diaspora need to make partnerships with returning or relocating African Americans. I have land but I have a stable job in the UK but I would like to enter a partnership with any black folks wanting to set up a venture in uganda in particular in Kabale district or muyonyo
Such a beilliant idea
@@MrLionLC if Africans collaborated with diaspora we would get things done quickly and better. Africans like to hold onto land without putting it to any use and then cry foul when government officials repossess the land for inactivity. Collaboration is what builds strong communities, you can never win alone, you have to collaborate. Here we have a wonderful opportunity with returning diaspora who can assist the nation in modernization in infrastructure and other critical services . I would encourage African-Americans to start looking into building a community, mixed community with amenities and homes, services on about 30 acres outside Kampala. Shops, before you know it, you got a business hub going
Bruh dissed iphones ! 😂😂😂😂😂
Ohshay I am 72 yrs old and have always wanted to come to Africa.

I think in Kenya, Nairobi is not the place to begin a business because it's kinda saturated but there are other towns that are on the rise that opportunities are enormous
Thanks for confirming that. I was planning to do a business for children in Narobi and in Mombasa. I won't give details. I know the service is definitely needed. ❤❤❤
@ruqayyahcurtis7504 kenya has many towns from eldoret, Nakuru, Thika that are still in need of quality businesses
@ruqayyahcurtis7504 but it depends on the business if its new it'll be well accepted
