I think some of the most underutilized tactics are pre-dropping supplies, learning how to read map topography and symbols (like is a road, a trench, a field, etc), using supply drop feints, driving tanks right up to garrisons or OPs to prevent spawns so your team can advance, smoking tanks, actually utilizing suppressing fire during squad advances, dropping bombing runs in front of squads so they can literally run right behind the bombs into the point, and doing recon by fire (aka shoot at something to make them shoot back so you know where they are)
🔥Another pro tip for playing artillery 🔥 Play as a squad leader and place your OP a bit out from the artillery guns and you can use it as an early warning system if the enemy come to take you out
Hey Mono, I've a suggestion for an Advanced Tactics #3. To triangulate the spotting of enemy drops so you can pinpoint the position of the drop. I do it all the time with my brother, we play in a two men squad, if you are a little apart from each other and you both ping the direction of the enemy drop you can by looking at the map draw a line from your position to your ping and from your friend to his ping, where the lines cross each other is a fairly accurate estimation of where the drop was called. It works best the further away you are from each other and the further away you both can ping. By adding a little map reading (learned from your videos) you can pretty much pinpoint the drop. It works very well and we manage to take out or at least mark on the map fairly accurately the positions for other squads.
@@monoespacial Yes this game is definitely fun to play and a complete change of pace/type of shooter from the COD/Battle Royale games. I just really hope the devs work on fixing their server issues and also add some quality-of-life improvements (to the console version) like match selection options and post-game stuff (options to play again with party, invite squad members to your party, or take everyone in the party back to the lobby).
Excellent tips..... can't believe I was unaware of so many of these. Another got tip is to get your squad to redeploy as support in turns and drop their supplies. Saves having to wait on the restock timer.
Well, I'll definitely keep it up but my HLL guide playlist must have over 40 videos by now. And then there's the match highlights. So... there's already A LOT of videos in the channel if you're new to the game!
Pro Tip: If on a flank inform your squad to hold fire off of spawns on the OP. This will do 2 things. 1 allow you to advance undetected for closer range and higher % ratio of killing the enemy in one shot. 2 it wont give away the exact location of your spawn beacon causing you to repeat the flank all over again.
A mistake i see commonly in good squads is when they pull of a good flank to set up a garrison behind enemy lines, they tend to push immediately to the objective instead of set up a defensive around the garrison. Set up a good defense around the garrison to let the other squads spawn and then all push together.
Step 1. Join public game and pre-aim one artillary at a defence point. Aim another at the offensive areas. Step 2. While shooting on the offensive gun, watch as a random armor squad guy runs over to the other gun and blind fires it without aiming. Step 3. Watch as your defensive infrantry units are wiped out Step 4. Be blamed by the commander
Thanks so much for the airhead+bombing run at same time tip. I used this to cap the final sector of an offensive game that I joined late where the previous commander just got frustrated and quit the game. The defense had cut of all the bridges and choke points so our team was having trouble breaking through. I switched to commander and tried this strat... All the squad leaders actually listened to me and their squads listened to them!!! Worked perfectly and everyone was saying what a great move it was and thinking I was a veteran commander when it was only my 4th time being commander
I look forward to your videos, there's always some good tips in there. Imma lvl 73 and still love hearing tips and tricks to HLL. I'm so hooked on this game lol
another way I've seen waypoints used is as directions of where to go for the squad when flanking. For example go to defence marker, then move, then attack marker. They act like multiple move markers, instead of one vague one in a general direction.
Garrison timing: (this should be obvious but yeah I see people not doing this.) if you see the enemy has almost captured your team’s sector, wait before you put the garry down. When they have capped, put it down, because then you don’t lose the garry and the supplies (brought for example by your support) are not lost. Eventually, you’ll get a good new spawn on the enemy territory. This should be done everytime like so, because new airdrop will get seen by the enemy as said!
What I usually like to do is, final stand -> reinforce, after that I smoke arty then I recon and bombing run the objective, meanwhile that I drop an airhead with supplies, once they see the bombing run they'll pull out and I have time to get a garrison down on the airhead and the troops can flank from behind on the fleeing troops and the front squads can move in
How about this, 1.) You can use tank barricades as shooting nests to look over walls while on defense (must say credit to finnabuns) 2.) You can take off fast in trucks if you hold down the space bar and wait till your in 5th gear (dumb but fun) 3.) Use your fucking mics
I really wish it was common sense for commanders not to drop supplies on flanking squad leads unprompted I vividly recall a game where I was doing a huge flank for a ninja garrison 50 on the ground, support in squad, 100m out "I'm DrOpPiNg SuPpLiEs On YoU" Telegraphed our position. Instantly swarmed by infantry before the spawn wave could pop.
Hey mono, can you give any tips about ranging your rockets? With only two rounds I often miss one if not both rounds over 100m simply because, as far as I know, it’s purely guesswork when judging rocket drop🙃 it’s so frustrating watching one shot hit just short and missing that kill
@@monoespacial thankyou for replying! I figured it would be learning your weapons and just getting the feel with experience. But I wasn’t sure if there was some kind of range change mechanic like in some other FPS where you can change your zero or something along those lines.
Isn’t your ‘drop airhead on advancing squad’ tip a bit contradictory to ‘do not drop supplies on your SLs without asking’? Just wanted to add that in both cases SLs need to be aware that they’re going to have a ‘kill me’ sign right above their heads
No. In one scenario you're dropping supplies on a squad, revealing their position or at least, encouraging the enemy to attack their location. In the other scenario, you're dropping an airhead on an area where there's active fighting going on. The enemy is already there and already engaged with your team. You drop the airhead where your team has control, like a group of buildings. Basically, anywhere where you see your guys being able to spawn and not die immediately. Dropping the airhead there is basically like taking that squad's OP and turning into a temporary garrison.
Hh man oh man, if only I had an Argentinian living in Chile that would let me be his stalking Supplies and Ammo carrier. Then I could fully embrace and enjoy the responsibility and fun of the game. But well, one can only wish. PS: it's Mono. Not Monoe, Not Monoes, but Mono.

Hope to see you at the guns soon 😂
That tip to use markers to see your distance to be able to place another garrison is incredible. Well done, per usual.
I usually just ping them but this has staying power which is definitely a better solution.
Pro tip: Turn off the engine of your truck while exciting your vehicle.
Except a tank 🤣
@@pina66vandijk If you are not turning of a recon tank, you're doing something wrong.
True, but that's not a real tank 😉
People drive a supply truck, leave it running, drop supplies in the middle of the road and build a Garry 10m away... Very subtle right?!...
After you dropped the supplies dont ditch the truck near the supplies you dropped

Such a simple idea that blew my mind too
Another option, with airheads is to use artillery smoke on the point before dropping the airhead so they can't see the airhead coming down
8:30 I’ve been wondering if anyone else had thought of that, it’s a pain in the ass when every garrison is synced up

What’s the radius of enemies around the OP and Garrison when is glows red?
