I would be very cautious with very wide red zone garrisons in pub matches. You can encourage all the players that should be defending to respawn too far away from the active sector. You gotta herd those cats.
That's actually a really good point I forgot to mention
Agreed. As a squad leader, I tend to place my garrisons where people are incentivized to spawn there whether they are told to spawn there or not.
you are assuming anyone in pub servers defends lmao. all the servers i play in are practically unplayable with all the dumbfucks running around in locked sectors and giving 0 fucks about anything other than kills. i can only tolerate maybe two games of it and i just switch to squad. i never thought it would be easier to find team players in squad than hll.
@@aeoteroa818 should try joining a regiment in HLL its a whole new ball game
Probably the most important comment in this video. Ppl start to get the idea of flanking and that's when pll start to loose due to overextend and letting enemy breach
It's all fun and games until 90% of the team decides to go for the wide flanking. It's not easy being a commander in pub matches, but some games, those 1 out of 5 the stars align and all the right guys decide to do what they must, those are the matches that make it worth it all.
The games where you have a competent commander and a majority of squad leaders with mics are always filled with amazing moments. From coordinating a single perfect artillery shell to organising flanks in transport trucks, coordinating smoke screens and then mass group nading a position and then all charging in shouting hurrah down your mic, no other fps comes close
Right i was thinking at the end of the day it's still a domination game. You always have to balance your strategy with how many bodies are on point.
@@PrimeNPCI played as commander and for the final push we needed all hands on deck... 2 minutes to go on attack 1 point left. I went to prox, gave the game plan, called in the artillery had all the boys throw their smokes and we went in tanks first. It looked like a cod story mission. It was the most amazing moment ive ever had in gaming hands down.
You're giving away all my secrets!
A lot of things to be successful in this game are very basic, but people are so focused on just running forward and getting into the fight. There have been several games where my squad has turned the tide by flanking instead of following the blueberry wave
flanks are insanely rewarding in this game and can devastate and enemy position or be that little extra that breaks an enemy line. i live for flanks in hll.
I know. It's kind of depressing that such basic things are considered advanced tactics and common sense is considered basic tactics.
Even more so when you realise that most people don't know basic tactics.
I mean I had a squad member complaining about how he just kept running around for 5 minutes just to die. I had to actually tell him to stop running around and then explain to him why it was getting him killed. You'd thing something as basic as that wouldn't have to be said.
Or the people complaining in chat about being spawn killed. Spawn somewhere else ffs. Or better yet, get your squad leader to relocate your OP.
I just realised this turned into more of a rant than I intended.
Point is; I agree. Only basic things are needed to be successful in this game.
Pulled a sick flank yesterday on FOY. Western was almost impossible to take and the whole damn team kept coming from the same direction. I flanked around with my squad behind despite the commander telling me to redeploy.. we got around. Double dropped supplies got a garry down BOOM we got the point from behind and won the game... most use I have ever been in a game haha
Ngl tho
Those blueberry waves are so much fun lol
the blueberry wave...lmao
“Advanced tactics” translates to sneaky carries, dummy thicc flanks and wiping out the enemies reserve garries.
i have only being playing a week now and I love the game, it was a steep learning curve but your videos have been a great help thank you for your content.
Step one: youre new, dont know much
Step two: you get used to it
Step three: you start playing in good clan servers
Step four: you git gud
@@janys6502 Yeah, I'm on step one. Just bought it last week. I'm not going to be able to enjoy it and learn the game until I get a proper headset though. The PS5 controller mic works, but you can't hear them as well.
@@davidwhite206 yea it really enhances the feeling, there are moments where youre moving with your squad in complete silence only to hear a gunshot and begin thinking who couldve shot, but then find yourself dead
Yeah it happens and every time it feels like I CALLED IT
Also, remember that as a squad leader it its alright to hang back a bit. If you die, and the outpost is gone, your squad can’t spawn anymore. Let someone else take point. If you are thinking: ‘but then my guys don’t know where we are going’, place markers. This is something you should always do. That way you can coordinate better, both with a squad and the other officers.
This is why everyone has to play a US SL on Hanoi in Rising Storm 2 before partaking in big boy games.
The amount of SL's that do not put move markers down annoys me... or even talk. I end up having to lead a squad instead which is hardwork! But if you want something doing do it yourself haha
Garrisons win games, got it!
The "corner" placement was also something I never considered.
Definitely going to approach the game from that angle from now on, thank you!
Absolutely love the Mass Effect music! Beautifully done! Great video as well, you make this game much more accessible to new players.
I was gonna comment about it as well but glad I wasn't alone in noticing lol
this video has completely changed the way I look at HLL now
I LOVE to hear that!
Gotta love the wide boi flanks! Get behind them, wipe out their spawns.
That's recon 101
This is all great info. The garrisons being on the corners of the cap zones is and excellent strategy.
Thanks for the tips ur doing a great job of teaching this amazing tactics
Love the mass effect background music. Also thanks for the helpful vids!
As a console peasant that has only been playing this game for like 48 hours HOLY SHIT BALLS this game has a lot to pick up!!! But its bloody brilliant if you get the right lobbies (people using coms). Thanks for the informative vids, very helpful
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the game.
Like the MassEffect (believe it's from being in the flight map) background music. Informative video as always. Thank you.
Lol I was waiting for someone to comment on the music. GALAXY MAP THEME FOR 10 HOURS BABY
@@monoespacial :D Glad i could help. Had to come here after loosing 5 games in a row for the same basic reasons.....No backup garrisons, defending with 1 garrison only on strongpoint....Frustrating day, had to watch something go right in HLL, so i came by. ;)
@@Muskelbiber007 yeah, it happens... I've had streams where my team is just a complete mess and it's doubly frustrating because I want to viewers to have fun but that's nearly impossible if all I want to do is press hit ALT+F4.
I usually go play something else for some time when that happens. Switching to another server sometimes helps.
@@monoespacial Yeah, switching servers during main hours just takes so long and you go like "This time, will be different" :). Thing is, the squad was really nice and fun to play with. So we sticked together and tried our best.
With recording i can understand that, yet don't forget, most people watching you on Twitch don't need you to be Mr. Killalot. Just do your thing, let the viewer follow your thoughtprocess which is 100% more worth, then having K/Ds of 2.xx. Don't put on too much pressure on yourself with that, you're already delivering good content here, so thumbs up and have a nice night, when my day starts. :D
Am watching your Twitch Videos on demand, cause time difference (Europe).
I THOUGHT that sounded familiar!
Great job and thank you helps out and makes game play fun!
The background music reminded me of some MassEffect sountrack. Nice! Also, nice videos man! Learned a lot.
Lots of great tips here! Well done.
Glad it was helpful!
Another great video Mono, thanks for sharing!!….
Great video!
Thanks for the video, most appreciated 😁👍
The most common garrison I see are those who people are placing to use just to rush towards the death. Very good video mono! I hope more people see this video to learn from you! Please show us more! :D
Another masterpiece- thank you!
Wow this is great thank you monospacial
Glad you like it
Great video. Enjoy the straight forward approach on the “Why” you should do your strategy. Thank you
Thanks, these videos are awesome. Once the BF2042 beta flopped I adapted HLL as my new game. Just subbed, awesome channel.
"Flank. Everything. All the time. On every map. Everywhere."
Great video. This is why I love to play Recon team and spend all my time busting garrisons behind enemy lines ... it's the most-contributing factor to winning the game IMO.
I am guilty of just being "Ooooh I get to snipe" and not doing that.. I am ashamed but now I know!
This video is great. Background music a+
Great advices :) and Great mass Effect music :p
Thanks for the guide. I played this for one hour many years ago and I’m trying to get into it again. I don’t want to absolutely lost this time around
Mono is a everyday name in the Hell Let Loose community.
People be refering to your guides to create noobs that are almost deadly!
Awesome video. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you!
finding more than one squad member who will speak and follow orders is the hardest part of the game.
Rank 20 on PS5 after starting playing this week and only met 4 people who would speak and work together.
when you get that, it's pretty awesome
It's very early still, gonna take some time. I've only played 4 hours one night and have at least found my way here down a RUclips rabbit hole trying to figure out what the fuck I'm doing lol
@A_Dirrty_Bird true this game has a learning curve.
I had to learn arty, and the other roles.
Started playing command after I had a grasp on the game.
Only lvl 45 currently
This is where recon comes into its own. They can drop their OP anywhere behind the enemy lines and they're small enough to do a wide flank and drop the garrison in the appropriate place(s) without detracting too much from the fight at large. A switched on Commander (to drop supplies in the right spot at the right time) and a good recon spotter can win the game.
I would argue that large wide flank is better performed by the recon squad, and they can also be looking out for enemy nodes along the way
But recon can't drop garrisons can they? Only outposts?
@@boffafett5289 You need to play more Spotter, my man. Recon can absolutely drop garrisons.
Just started playing the game. Thanks for this, especially Flanking. Also kudos for using Uncharted World soundtrack aka Galaxy Map theme from Mass Effect :)
New player here. Love the tactics as they are similar to actual military tactics. I noticed very quickly that it’s difficult to keep team integrity unless you have like minded players. The majority of what I see so far is every man for himself in most cases and very little communication. That is, unless you’re lucky enough to join a battle with teams that understand the strategy involved. Dare I say it - just like the actual military. Love HLL though. Great way to teach younger generations about WWII.
Just started playing love it so far took me time to get the hang of it still getting the hang of it but man ain't nothing like them tense fire fights
Thank you for producing these. New player and enjoying it a lot thanks to your tips.
Glad to be able to help
@@monoespacial They would be wise to sponsor you dude ;)
The OP cooldown resets when dismantling it. Wow. Thank you. Learn something new everyday.
new to HLL and i really enjoy you videos! thank you...
thank you for liking my comment. 1Q: i cant find any answer on the internet. i see videos where is massive gore and blood during the battle. in my game however there is not blood. i couldnt also find anyting in the settings. what is the reason? i would like to have a more realistic gameplay...thank you!
Awesome video, i will definitely apply this information
As a new player, these videos are so helpful. +1 sub!
Appreciate the galaxy map theme while looking at a map ;)
This is by far the best tactics theory video
"This is a lot of lines by the way!" Had flashback to my old football coach and his chalk board. nice video
Lol is that the Mass Effect theme song playing in the background? love that
Best thing to do if you are up for playing SL (in my opinion the best way to play other than mg or medic) is ensure your entire squad has mics at the start of the game, then you can all spawn together and coordinate throughout the entire game. I like sticking to the flanks, both defence and attack depending on the situation but the best part about having a full squad communicating and working together is thst regardless of how the match goes, even if you get blitzed and lose badly, you'll still have a bunch of fun with the squad
Love the Mass Effect music in the background
Awesome tactics 👌🏼
Off topic but I noticed the mass effect Galaxy map music in the background of this video. Nice 👍
1. This mentality of paying attention to troop movements is something I preach on the soapbox, to little effect.
As for the rest of the tips, thank you.
Gotta respect the mass effect music in the background and tanks.gg
Beauties man! ECHO squad is coming to HLL!!!
Love the Mass Effect Soundtrack!
15:33 This is what I am referring to when I ask players to give me a wide flank; when I am playing recon I call this the big sneak. Send a squad in deep to get around the enemy from a direction they are not expecting to encounter us. Going in deep and avoiding confrontations at all costs until you get your garrison up for the flank. Trying that flank within 1 grid of meaningful grid space will just result in their defensive line moving down and inevitably dragging people into a fight outside of meaningful space. You can use the opposite of this to help defend as well, send a team to build a deep garrison for your proximity alarm down there.
Excellent information. Thank you!
Dude this Mass Effect ambient music is A1
Great video! What program did you use to show us the map strategy?
a site called Stratsketch
This is why I love to play as a recon squad. Just hard to find others that realize playing on point is only effective in a few scenarios. Rather have a low kd recon squad being a nuisance to nodes and other things then a guy who dropped 50 outpost farming.
Man that old hitmarker sound. The nostalgia lol
Some of this things i didnt know thx
Awesome video man! Any chance you could tell me what MAP editor thing you were using for the video?
I was using a site called Stratsketch
@@monoespacial thank you!
The ability to pick up your OP is sadly not not use so much, but I find it quite useful when sectors are lost.
You should do a video about:
"Why is defending fun, what is defending and where do you defend"
I've done one with... A more provocative title: ruclips.net/video/1bqk3w5Gyw0/видео.html
Love the Mass Effect OST in here haha
Cuando pronunciaste tu nombre caché al toque que eras chileno jajaja inconfundible el acento, gracias por los consejos!
De hecho soy Argentino! Pero vivo acá en Chile
Buen video!!
The garrison corners blew my mind
I am wondering whats the map editor that you use
Didn’t think I’d notice the mass effect background music 😊
Flanking does not have to be that wide of an L shape. You do not have to span the entire map for a flank. If there are enemies in the trench 100m in front of you, taking a squad along a hedge row perpendicular to the trench and hitting it from the side is a flanking maneuver. An excellent example of this is the Brécourt Manor Assault from episode two of Band of Brothers where Winters leads two squads and flanks the German artillery guns. That is a textbook use of flanking and is still used as an example at West Point (United States Military Academy). To be effective at flanking in this game you need to ensure a minimum of your Machine gunner, but preferably a second squad is engaging the position you want to flank. Then you move around and up until you are perpendicular to them. You initiate a crossfire and assault through the objective. Key points to remember, 1. Suppress the enemy position, 2. relocate the flanking squad perpendicular to the enemy position (Speed and Stealth are imperative for this to be most effective, maintain the element of surprise if possible), 3. Throw grenades then Fire on the position and advance through it (Push your squad forward while having the suppressing squad walk its fire in front of you so they don't shoot your squad) 4. If done correctly your squad will have killed/disabled the enemy position. BE AWARE: the element of surprise and speed really are imperative. If your squad fires on the enemy before in position or your squad takes too long, the enemy will spawn reinforcements from a nearby outpost or garrison. Strike Hard, Strike Fast.
OI! that small music background is from mass effect, dont think i didnt notice...... nice, here have a upvote
You don’t want your flank to be outflanked. Therefor, allways out-outflank your own flank. Thats deep man…
Here's me just vibin' to Vigil's theme
I recently started playing this game properly a few weeks ago now, I've had the game ages but never invested any time into it, now I am loving it. The only thing I dislike is I seem to get texture pop in/out when I aim down sights... I never had this before but I think I've changed a setting and now I get it all the time, anyone know how I can get rid of it? I'll aim down sights and a bush or foilage will appear/disappear. It's making it harder to spot enemies or something will pop in/out and for a split second I'll think it's an enemy moving, when it's not.
In my experience Foliage has to be set to epic to reduce the incidence of this.
Also try running borderless.
Nice and thank you.
What website are you using or tool, to highlight and mark things on the map?
Stratsketch
"Me as commander", monoespacial is flanking!
Ahhh but when I flank, I try to think what the counter flank is going to be so I can properly flank that flank as I'm flanking the enemy's flank.
@@monoespacial I don't think trucks get used enough in flanking, a lot of times they sit a the back spawns unused.
@@HumanLikeMan too loud
last match i was directing my soldiers as an officer from a bit distance with my glasses and pinged them that worked well and so i always was able to kill soldiers who came from behind. that was an defending from the site means we were watching all enemys who rushed and that was an epic tactic!
is the background music from oblivion?
Im going to be a HLL console player and i have learnt alot from your videos for when the game comes out for Xbox Series X. Other console players need to watch your videos so they don’t think its like battlefield or cod.
Thank you! I won't be playing it on console (I don't like using a controller for shooters) but the videos should still apply to that version since... well, it's the same game!
@@monoespacial true hopefully i can use my keyboard and mouse on HLL like some other games on consoles
Console gamer here and I'm ready for HLL challenge...it about time console gets a realistic FPS hardcore shooter, can't wait!!!
@@MoSi_82 yeah i was so happy HLL got announced for console. last milsim I played was operation flashpoint on the Xbox 360
30K let’s f-ing go man, #goals af
Supplies is the best for a beginner. I'm on my way to maxing supply out first. I don't mind dying for the team.
edit: Thank you for taking the time to show me how to read the map and some tactical basics.
Can you only capture points in offensive when you are in the strongpoint? (Black circle) I was under the impression you could capture when you were in the surrounding squares at 1x the capture strength as compared to 3x when in the strongpoint.
Mono, your videos are the best to understand and learn how to play Hell let Loose and enjoy it, for sure...!
I've just hear how you said your name and it sounds like if you are spanish speaker! Where are you from, Mono??
Oh, me respondo a mí mismo. Ya he leído la información de tu perfil (la pereza es la peor compañera jajaja!)
Un saludo y de verdad, tus vídeos son lo mejor de RUclips para entender y disfrutar Hell let Loose!
MASS EFFECT
Love the ME soundtrack!!!
DIGGIN THE MASS EFFECT MAP MENU SONG!
Can you please advise the name of the drawboard software?
Hell Let Loose Basic Tactics: Flank the enemy
Hell Let Loose Advanced Tactics: Flank the enemy but wider
I don’t know if you’ll see this, since it’s been so long since you posted. But is the background music from the mass effect series?
Yes
What is the program you use for this? I have been seeing it in most of the videos and now I want to know :)
It's called Stratsketch, it's a website.
AMAZING VIDEO, the only thing you missed is SUPPLY TRUCKS, when flanking use it, cost nothing for commander, you can build two garrison +nodes, it takes WAY less time, and there fun!!!! Anyways great video... build garrisons
I should add: you (SL) and a support flank in the supply truck, rest of team is defending until ninja garry is up and running
There’s a group in Aus who do this exact thing extremely well!
I hate the cheesy support redeploy exploit for 100 supplies behind enemy lines. I hope they change that somehow. Otherwise some nice tactical reasoning.
I mainly play recon and flank and hunt/destroy garrisons/outpost/supplies and make diversionary caps all the time. Great fun.
If you pull of that exploit of on a public server with randoms you've earnd it.
What app are you using?
hope they make a market garden map soon or more market garden maps :)
Nice mass effect galaxy map music
This is great! However, my squadmates think I'm crazy 🤪
When youre also playing this game but love mass effect (nod to the videos soundtrack).
I’m like, I hear mass effect music. Must be my phone maybe I was playing it. I see my music is off. I’m thinking my mind is playing tricks on me. Then I turn the video up enough and clearly hear it here. Damn. Had to go back a couple minutes and get really in the video.
You've made me possibly a descent squad lead lol
What software are you using to show your strategy?
