Thank you for this. I have rosacea and sensitive skin. Years ago, I had micro needling done once and it was a nightmare for me. My skin was peeling off and raw and painful for several weeks. Now reading the benefits of micro needling for fine lines and texture- im considering trying it again and this makes me feel like maybe my response wasn’t all that out of the norm as my technician believed it to be… dunno
I had the same experience with RF microneedling. I had three sessions. I didn't find the procedure too painful, neither the days after. But then all the super dry spots and acne. I've been on oral isotretinoin a while ago so getting the acne again was horrible. Also my skin now reacts way worse to even salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. I had to put Elidel on my face to get it to calm down from all the dryness and reactions. I don't think I'd do it again. Still trying to get the acne under control again.
@@taysonkhaHello, Tayson. Thank you for warning people about what can happen with isotretinoin, especially if you get a micro needling session. I've heard that even having waxing sessions while using that medication can cause violent, painful reactions. Even more shocking was to find out that acne can come back after using isotretinoin !! Didn't know that could happen.

Hey.. I just got my microneedling with prp done about a week ago.. And a week later now, my skin has red to purple patches and it just won't go away. Is this normal and part of the process? I've tried everything and my whole face looks bruised now..

Schedule your treatment in Europe. Here in Barcelona (Spain), a Fraxel laser session coupled with IPL costs between 250 and 350€. RF and microneedling about the same. I do not get why laser treatments are so damn expensive in the US.
Exactly I’m in Qatar and not even paying close to what you spent. $800 for 5 session of Hollywood laser peels and another $800 for micro needling 3 sessions and another treatment which is my next appointment.

Hi, so I was told by a med spa here at my first consult that I should get microneedling done every 4 weeks and I thought it was a bit excessive so I never went back and got it done. I’ve never had it done before but I have SUPER sensitive skin, some texture issues and scarring. How often would you recommend microneedling be done?? Is every 4 weeks too much? Should I avoid going to this place for skin treatments and find someone else? If it’s your first time, is there anything to do to prepare??
I did it twice and I wasn’t even red after.. my derm was so surprised.. after two weeks my skin was looking really refreshed but sure for longtime results you have to do it regularly and be patient.. on top you should also have skin care routine already
I’m new to the micro needling world & I do it myself at home with the Dr. Pen because it’s just so expensive to get it done professionally. I get extremely red & puffy afterwards even when I barely hold it to my skin. I do have sensitive skin. Is it normal for some to get this red & swollen? I just micro needled yesterday & it was only my 4th time. I’ve taken some Benadryl as I usually do afterwards. I guess I’m wanting to know if it’s okay for the skin to be this irritated. My neck looks like it has welts on it but that’s fairly standard for me. Am I holding it to the skin for too long? Please advise!!
Does this mean one should only seek treatment every 6 months? The medical spa I went to would schedule me to come back after 5-6 weeks. If so, I spent way too much money going as frequently as I did in 2023. I haven't been back since fall b/c the results have been too mild for the cost.
Good morning Shereene, hello from Germany 🥰 I love your posts, they're amazing!! By the way, what's your viewpoint on Morpheus 8 versus Hifu? Which one would you recommend for tightening skin? (Talking about in general rather thickish skin, not much creeping or so, BUT of course some laxer areas especially around mouth and nose, when looking down etc. I've been recommended either of these two procedures by the same doctor, I just don't understand the difference and what's better for tightening. What's the difference between these? .

Yes BUT you have to take tyrosinase inhibitors such as kojic, Azelaic, tranexamic acid, alpha arbutin etc for at least 6 weeks beforehand, during and at least 6 weeks after getting micro needling or any other type of treatment like this done such as laser therapy etc because it prevents the melanocytes from getting triggered due to the stress your skin is under from the micro needling. So as long as you are on a good serum or two with at least one, if not a few of these inhibitors, it will prevent your melasma from developing again. I recently just did my first round of micro needling and haven’t had any issues with my melasma getting triggered because I’ve been really good about using the tyroninase inhibitors for a while now- including Tretinoin. Hope this helps!
Does skin need healing after laser (Soprano Alma Ice) too, even if it looks normal after sessions?? Could result go better, with using creams? Greetings from Estonia(Baltics), Dr. Idriss! 👋🏻🌹
Microneedling has been a great benefit for my skin type re texture and scarring. But I don’t do it more than every 6-8 weeks because it’s at a deeper depth for scarring. It is a huge improvement, looks so much better, but I’m talking over 2 years+ with about 6/7 treatments a year! You will see gradual improvements from the beginning, plus in between times when some scars will look slightly wider but shallower, but you need patience….otherwise save up for an ablative laser in the hands of a seasoned professional of course :)
I tried a dermaroller from Amazon. Tbh, it's only been one week and I'm seeing great results. I had it for over 15 years though and it was no longer as intense.
Dr. I do microneedling at the derm on a monthly basis. My daily routine involves the use of a red light therapy mask. I read that because RLT helps with healing, it affects the efficacy of microneedling. What do you think?

(I'm 55F) I had this done about two months ago and I'm scared to get it done again. I use tightening creams for under my eyes that help pretty decent but after my microneedling treatment my under eye skin (I have thin skin) was so saggy for about 3 to 4 weeks. I wanted to do more treatments for the fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes but I'm terrified that it's going to permanently wreck my skin if I keep going back? Also, are you saying that we should only get micro needling done every six months? I watched some of these RUclipsrs who do it like every month or two. Their skin appears very thin, almost translucent, I can't describe it it's weird.
I'm thinking of doing this for under my eyes. Bc I have under eye bags. I just wanted to firm it up and improve the quality. Now I'm second guessing it!
So glad you addressed this. 6 months is realistic. Skincare is not magic and not an overnight process.
But you can’t just do one treatment- I’d say one a month for 6 months will show great improvement

U can use only pure hialorunic acid though. No regular ones
@@emilianomederos not true. But do what works for YOU
The salon usually wants you to do it after 2 WK’s in a row. Are you saying you should do it once, after 6 months repeat?
Dr I bought micro needle and Tretinon 0.05, I started the Tretinon should I wait for 1-2 months before I try micro needing?? Or can use both ?
Hi, so I was told by a med spa here at my first consult that I should get microneedling done every 4 weeks and I thought it was a bit excessive so I never went back and got it done. I’ve never had it done before but I have SUPER sensitive skin, some texture issues and scarring. How often would you recommend microneedling be done?? Is every 4 weeks too much? Should I avoid going to this place for skin treatments and find someone else? If it’s your first time, is there anything to do to prepare??
I just did it 2 days ago .i dont understand, though minimun how much time has to pass brfore has to do again for real effect ?
I did it twice and I wasn’t even red after.. my derm was so surprised.. after two weeks my skin was looking really refreshed but sure for longtime results you have to do it regularly and be patient.. on top you should also have skin care routine already
So i dont need to do this treatment twice in six month?
Will it look better after a month though?
So i should wait 6 months before going for another session basically?
6 months 1 treatment or every month?
Good morning Shereene, hello from Germany 🥰 I love your posts, they're amazing!!
By the way, what's your viewpoint on Morpheus 8 versus Hifu? Which one would you recommend for tightening skin? (Talking about in general rather thickish skin, not much creeping or so, BUT of course some laxer areas especially around mouth and nose, when looking down etc. I've been recommended either of these two procedures by the same doctor, I just don't understand the difference and what's better for tightening. What's the difference between these?
.
Does microneedling help with pigmentation?
How often should you do micro needling. If it needs 6 months to heal
How often can you do at-home micro-needling treatments?
What about derma stamping at home?
Thank you so much for being honest. The internet gives people such a misconception about the issues they have. Thanks so much.
What is the advantage of microneedling with prp ? Is it better or the same when you do it without, regular?
How long btw needling treatments do you recommend? I’ve heard 1 month?
Im on my 2 time around 6 dsys later.i took a walk on the 5th dsy i had to get out of house.was thst ok?my question is if you have to go to work how do you all have time for this recovery period ?
???? Redness .no makup.no sun etc
Is microneedling safe for melasma
So 6 mths of micro needling will help?
Please do video on mesotherapy!
What do you think?
your skin is flawless- Do you do microneedling yourself ?
Hi, do u need to stop tretnoin before or after the treatment
Is it micro needling good for active acne and pigmentation?
Doctor, I am from India. My husband is visiting the USA for a week. I would like to buy dr. Pen A6s with extra cartridges. Aal the cartridges are only .25 depth. I think J can not go deeper like .5mm to 1mm with those cartridges. kindly help me to find cartridges with deeper option.
any recommendations for at-home microneedling devices? (or is it not worth it to try to do it yourself?)
I am going to get this done too but will it fix my acne scars
@@dliz4019 definitely do more research. I have thin skin so I don't know if that had something to do with it?
Ok, so what about loose skin? Can micro needling tighten loose skin?
