    Is eye relief measured from the lens surface? If so then in use the protruding eye cup of the Swaro might actually give it less eye relief than the Kowa??
    This is critical for spectacle wearers.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  2 дня назад +1

      @redpillnibbler4423 hey there! Yes, its measured from the lens surface. As mentioned in the video, the Swaro has a slight protrusion from the eyepiece, so yes,it is slightly worse for eyeglass wearers. It's not much different though in reality. Thanks for watching!

    I have been seeing for the past 3 years the technology in budget cost shooting products has not only caught up to the outright rediculess cost peaces but have past them up by leaps and bounds. A 5-25x56 and the new 7-35x 56 scopes by arken is now better than vortex for 600.00 with a wonderful mounting kit compared to a 3000.00 dollar vortex

    Do you think the Kowa 55 is suitable for spotting trace and impacts at long range (lets say 850+ yards), or is the 66 or 88 needed?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  2 месяца назад

      @@eazybrah hey! I think you'd want the 66 or 88 as 40x would make it tough to spot impacts at 850+ yards. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for a great review and comparison between these two spottingscopes!
    While I am usually not a fan of zoom eyepieces at all because of the often ridiciously narrow AFOV at the lowest power, the AFOV of these models has changed my mind.
    I am impressed that the Kowa stands so well against Swarovski here.
    I am an eyeglasses wearer and want to make use of the full FOV with eyeglasses on. When it comes to eye relief this usually decreases when magnification increases. It should be so in this case too. This means that if eye relief is sufficient at lowest power, it may not be sufficient when the power goes up.
    This will be the most important factor for me, which one I will choose, and if I will get any of them at all.

    Great work. Keep up the awesome reviews. I'm so disappointed that kowa didn't make their eyepiece removable like the rest of their recent TSN Prominar models. Because of that one factor, I'll be keeping my old Kowa 553 scope for sure

    Hi! How are you?? Hope you are doing well! Actually Zeiss has launched their New HDX binoculars.
    I am confused between Kowa TSN Prominar 99 and Zeiss victory Harpia 95 and finding difficulty to buy which one is the best?? Zeiss victory Harpia 95 in advertising they say that when you are at starting magnification 23x and focusede it and image is clear and after that if you zoom all the way to maximum 70x so you don't need to focus it or adjuste focus it shows everything clear however i want to know wheather ziess victory Harpia 95 accepts astronomy eyepieces or not?? But not getting any answer from Zeiss and another side Kowa do acceptse astronomy eyepieces if you buy kowa 1.25 inch astro adapter so can you please show all the details in a video for Zeiss victory Harpia 95??? I think you are the one who can make detailed information video about it.

      @trident8872 hey there and thank you! We are actually working on a comparison between the Harpia 95 and Kowa 99. Both are amazing and I like different things about each so far. Can't go wrong either way, but stay tuned for the details. I don't know if the Zeiss will accept an astronomy eyepiece, but I'll try to find out and put it in that video. Thanks for watching!!

    It would be cool to see a comparison between 85mm spotters vs 65 vs 50. I can only afford one, and as a hunter / backpacker, we all have to make the tough choice between weight and image quality for glassing. It would be nice to see what you gain by packing the extra weight of the 85 (which also requires a heavier tripod) vs how affective a 50 would be at the same task. For example, maybe a compact swaro will outperform a full size vortex. Sometimes its actually more valuable to compare apples to oranges.

      I carried a Meopta Meostar 20-70x 82mm scope while accompanying a buddy on his scouting & hunting trips for mountain goat. Between that and the tripod, it was a lot to pack. The huge glass and the angled design are great once you’re set up and glassing, but when carrying it, it would be much nicer to have something smaller with a straight body. Not to mention a smaller scope with a straight body works great on an auto window mount. Not trying to state the obvious here, but many (most?) of us are more likely to pack something smaller, and the scope you have is better than the scope you left at home.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit

      @@BackwoodsPursuitthanks for the review - thinking of saving up my Cabela’s points to get the straight body version of that Swarovski. What would you recommend for a lightweight, low tripod? I will only use it while sitting, so I don’t need anything that extends to standing height. Thanks!

      As for an ultralight tripod, this one's is about as light as I've found, while still being super solid: ruclips.net/video/Z10PIdgV5Po/видео.htmlfeature=shared
