I've used the pockets on camp chairs to collect rainwater. Although, I didn't need any rain water and I didn't think about collecting any. I have to say, it worked great!
@@NotchingTags I think Luke might actually miss this. Overall, Naturehike is a decent company. I own some their equipment, specifically, carbon fiber foldable hiking pole, Cloud Peak 2 tent, titanium cup, etc. I don't have any severe complaints about their products.
@@archi-mendel yeah it looks like a solid product. I would just appreciate honesty. He may have missed it but that would be hard to believe. He must have watched this video 10 times during the editing process. I appreciate the video all the same.
The seat assembles much more easy when you put the fabric on the shorter (lower) poles first. The long ones bends better and makes it simpler to put on the fourth one.
Luke, I am so happy you did this video! I am a retired Vet, so I have to be careful how I spend my once a month pay check. I was in the market for a better backpacking chair and this one fits the bill! Just ordered one this minute! Thank you.😊
I have a camp chair with the pockets and a folding table on the side and I love it. I do use the pockets to hold my phone, flashlight, bug spray, napkins, kleenex and other random stuff as needed. Definitely a chair that is for regular camping and not hike in camping, but it works great for what I use it for.
Thanks Luke, it's a nice review! It's especially nice to know how far it is off the ground, for guys like me (6-2). I'd work pretty hard getting up off it at my age, (75), so the fine details are very much appreciated.
Quick tip: I've noticed you put the long poles in the seat poclets first. Since you were complaining about the strength it takes to get the poles in the pockets you should try doing the short poles first (the longer poles will flex more and make it easier). I've found the same thing on my REI chair - putting the long poles in last is way easier.
Our church has yearly "camp day" where we have outdoor church. WE have church in a wooded area. My walker is not a great thing to take for a seat. People have these huge camp chairs that I just cannot manage. I have been looking for something simpler and easier. I have also lost 66 pounds! NOW I can use this chair you just reviewed. IT IS within my budget. YAY! I could get one for both me and my DAD and we could go on the next OUT DOOR church event. GREAT! PERFECT. EASY to set up and it rains in OREGON, so we always have wet and damp ground. NEED those extra feet. Thanks! so much Luke. PERFECT for us! Thank you very much!!!! Been watching and waiting for you to review a chair that would work for this! Blessings from Oregon
Finally a chair that isn't ridiculously priced..your reviews are greatly appreciated..have purchased several reviewed items..and about go time in mid state PA again
Love my Helinox backpacking chair…my heaviest luxury item, but SO worth it at the end of a day of hiking. Otherwise you’re leaning up against a log or sitting on one, if you’re lucky. Otherwise, you’re on the ground with nothing to hold up your back.
Pocket I was a anti chair guy but now I take it everywhere! I went with the tusk chair because at the time it was tested and reviewed by some very big guys with great reviews. It is a heavy chair, but it has a pocket!! And I use it! I always use the pocket, usually for a beer. But even on long hikes or camping I will put a water bottle in it or flashlight, cooking utensils, or even just a hand towel rag, sometimes the wrapper from opening food so it doesn’t blow away until I can clean up. Sometimes I will keep rocks in my chair pocket! I use them to throw at my buddies when they try to put their beers in my pocket, unless there full, for me to drink 👍🏻
I'm a NatureHike fan for the last 5 years. The first surprise of quality was the Cloud 2UP Tent which I expected I would have to manually seam seal. I wasn't disappointe to find I didn't need to! It's a great tent and I have since purchased other model tents. I also have the similar chair to the reviewed one. Though at my age, I can't justify carrying any chair on a m-day trips, I would def on an overnighter or car camping.
There are a surprising amount of campers and backpackers who never take a chair. I can tell you flat out, having camped and hiked 50 years, you NEED a chair. You will USE... a chair. It is WORTH... the weight. I won't leave home without mine. Gotta have it. Way too useful and needed.
I bought both sizes: pro and plus. Both were extremely comfortable. I'm 5'11" and I was able lean back and sit-up easily. Chair fabric hugs you like a hammock or good friend. Easy to assemble. Nice touch on bag design as storage underneath the chair. Thanks Luke for your excellent review. Love your style man. Keep it up man. S.A.H
Another great option that I've been using: 3F UL folding chair. Slightly more expensive but lighter due to Dyneema material. I have the high-back version (L) that I weigh at 2.08lbs/941g or 2.25lbs/1017g with storage bag.
Naturehike has been knocking it out of the park lately. After I bought the Massif from HK last August, I recently imported the Naturehike Dune 10.9 which is the "big brother" to the Massif. There's a smaller version of the Dune which is exactly the same as the Massif but tall enough to stand in. I've been LOVING it as my "glamping" hot tent. I would highly recommend you take a look at it!
I had to buy the non-sinking feet to use with my Helinox chair. I bought a high-back camping chair at Costco for $37 and use it for fishing as I usually nap when I fish. Lol. In my van, I have a high back sand chair that is very comfortable and camp stool that supplements as a table and a foot stool. As a table, I use a cutting board that fits perfectly within the triangle. Good review, Luke.
Have two of these, one of each color. Both are beautiful, but I like the green one better. Took me like 5 days to decide 😂 I'm 195cm tall at 100kg and I get slight discomfort after 1-2 hours of constant sitting in it, mostly in the back of my legs, but I tend to extend my legs flat, so I deserve it. I used them on a 15 days camping trip, those were the only 2 chair we used and we didn't get sick of them. Great chairs really, worth every penny!
Put the corners on the long poles last, not first, and you don't need to exert near as much force to get the seat in place Source: I've had one of these for a few months, they're great
We bought FJ Sport hiking chairs. 2 for $50. Same weight as this. One finally broke after much use. So we bought another set and we have 3 now. Very comfortable.
I've got several chairs that have the pockets and they do get used, but they get used when the chair isn't being used for camping. Waiting for a parade or fireworks is when they come in handy. There are usually books and snacks in the pockets. One chair has a little cooler bag in the arm rest. Camping the book and other entertainment is in the tent, snacks are in the cooler, everything has other places. Pockets are really only good for events where everything you need has to be right at the chair
Ordered 2 of these yesterday for this year's camping adventures. Glad this review came out, I was expecting to get what I paid for, seems I'm getting more for the value in this purchase.
Never for camping but i have used this little fold out chair with a pouch attached to it for when i went fishing good for extra bs like more line or a small tackel case
I have one that has steel legs and I like it, except for the legs sinking into the mud. I always carry it because it's comfortable. I keep paracord and my camp saw in the pouch. It packs well.
Thanks for the video and heads up, Luke. Appreciate it. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a Helinox. I have a pocket on my backpacking chair, now that you mention it. I don't believe I've ever used it either.
The pouch acts as a counter weight during very windy occasions. I place stones in them and it has saved me from running after a tumbling chair in the wind.
I've been using Quechua MH500 Folding Camping Chair from Decathlon a lot past 4 years, and it's holding up very well. It has one elastic mesh pocket, mostly using it for my phone. When sitting, it's more comfortable to take out phone from my pants pocket. I find it convenient. Maybe one day a review of Quechua MH500 Folding Camping Chair? It's popular chair in europe!
I've used the pockets to store my paddle gloves when I'm at site and ready to relax. I've tended to put them down on stumps or logs, just to spend 10 minutes looking for them when it's time to leave. This might be more of a case where I'm trying to utilize pockets I might not need, but I at least found a use for them.
I like my Big Agnes stool which is very light at 1 lb. although admittedly expensive. I use it for day hikes. For backpacking I consider a full chair a necessity so this is interesting.
I use the trekology camping chair, that has pockets, one for can of beer and the other i pop my headtorch in when i dont need it, i find them really useful!
Man, when I saw you make this video my jaw dropped. This is the first time I bought and tried something before you reviewed it on your channel. I've had this chair about a year now and I really like it. I've taken it out multiple times. It hasn't broken for me yet and I'm a big guy. I also rock in it while sitting at a fire and it doesn't show any signs of wear and tear.
Give the Lacal camp chair a look. It is sturdy, light, packs small, sets up easily, and is the most comfortable backpacking chair I have ever used. I am a bit irritated as I already have great backpacking chairs, but for $35 I have to get this one.
Interestingly I just checked the Australian Naturehike store and we have a different set/style of moon chairs. They look similar but are not the same. Prices are very reasonable too.
Hey, great video, I've got this chair already and I really Ike it. The anti sink feet do remove the smaller caps off the bottom of chair, but it's never bothered me, they just end up staying inside the bigger feet when I pack it away and I always use the bigger anti sink feet each time I use the chair so not an issue for me. I also sometimes carry the chair separately or externally from pack, by using a clip on strap on the loops of the carry bag and carry it over my shoulder. I also have the green version and I love the colour not one of these bright in your face colours that camping chairs usually come in lol😊.
I've 2 Trekology YIZI GO portable chairs from about 3 years ago, with the sand cover/beach mat. Each chair and mat cost me about $5 more than this chair and I'm quite happy with them, so I don't have a need to replace them. The Trekology chairs do have pockets for probably holding a soda can or something similar, but I've never used them.
For chairs with pockets I have used them I put my drinks in them and since I smoke a cigar I have an ashtray the size of a can of coke and they all work well
Interesting. This looks almost identical to one made by Trekology, that I bought from Amazon (UK) for £35 last year. Same weight and everything, which is a fine chair indeed.
You can use bag the chair comes in, as a big zipped chair pocket. Storage bag has two loops on sides, you can put empty bag on front legs, before they are inserted in hubs. Convenient easy to access for phone or snacks, and you can zip it so nothing falls out.
I have this chair but with a larger backrest and I love it. Not sure if I would take it on a long hike cuz is kinda big and is at the border of being heavy.
I agree with u. The reason that the Helinox is so popular is because it’s a pound less and a pound is a big difference when you’re hiking several days through the mountains. I take my Helinox on the long trips and my more comfortable 2 lb chair on the shorter ones.
Luke Great Video as always thanks for all the content. In relation to the pockets i do tend to use the pockets for things like beer, keys, phone little things like that and i am happy when they do have the pockets i wont lie.
I have the Sportneer chair per your previous reviews and love it. I do use the pockets from time to time for a drink or l slide my phone in one of them. Not sure if you’d still recommend it in comparison to this chair!
I already have and love my Helinox chair that weighs like a pound...but chair choice can be as important as tent choice during different weather conditions. The Helinox is great for backpacking, but something like this would be a better choice for car camping or line sitting due to comfort. It's not bad for backpacking either if you don't mind the extra pound. I'd buy it.
Looks pretty cool :) If you're up for the 2 pound range, there's the Ta-Da Series 2 walking stick chair. It weighs 2.2 pounds. No back but still a very nice chair that holds up to 300 pounds and it's also a decent cane/walking-stick/trekking-thing. I think the Series 1 version is lighter but also does not hold as much weight.
I'm glad you told me what the weight restriction is, I'm 220 looking at it like maybe I would fold that thing but Glad it supports anothe 45 pounds and the price is freaking awesome
Not gonna lie I’ve always had a chair day 1. I joined the marines before I camp a backpacker/camper so the experience was basically plug in play only difference is I don’t where camo anymore and I’m not lugging a M240 Bravo through the woods
I have this chair, to be honest I don't use the storage bag. Friends I went camping with who had more expensive chairs were all jealous of my anti-sink feet. They did indeed sink into the sandy soil we camped on and had to pull their chairs up several times. When they found out how inexpensive the chair was they all agreed it was a great buy.
Very tiny chair! Thanks for the review, I am glad to find another one, and for so cheap! I have an (apparent) knock-off of this style of chair that cost me $55 before it disappeared from Amazon, been looking ever since. I imagine it disappeared because they got caught for copying the style. Mine uses a floor footprint mat that the bottom feet insert into for sand/dirt/grass environments.
I've got one of each the olive colour and the tan / khaki colour. I've owned them for more than a year and they are still performing very well. Decathlon also makes a similar type of chair, which I also own, but the materials definitely feel lower quality, it has a lighter weight limit, and I have already managed to burn a small hole in the seat of it when a spark from the fire landed on it. The NatureHike chairs have not given me any issues, apart from the fact that when you remove the anti-sink feet, the other rubber feet tend to come off with them (I think I can see this happening in your video as well). I don't really mind this, as I leave the anti-sink feet on permanently, but it could be irritating if you want to switch them out often. I love using the storage bag as a pocket on the bottom of the chair, as you can fit so much more in it that in other chair pockets.
Thanks for the review..I might try one . I purchased (2) one Tigris chairs..they barely lasted 6 months before tearing and breaking…Just to add I’m 5’10’and 169 lbs 😎
That is a shame. I bought my OneTigris almost 3 years ago and I keep waiting for it to give up but keeps on going and I'm almost 6' 4" and 280 lbs. Quality control must have tanked.
Hi Luke I got to say i love my One tigris high back it's so comfortable, with the high back i can lounge in comfort either sitting upright or laying back. for me it's the right height for cooking, then once i have eaten fire pit going, just chillin, I can just lay back and watch the night sky, looking out for satellites passing over head, it is surprising just how many you can see crossing the star lit heavens above you.
It's the same weight as the Naturehike chairs that have been available for a couple of years of more. (I have 2 of them) unless America only got access to them recently. I am in England.
Glad to see that you are finally addressing the fact that the legs on these type chairs sink in soft earth. I've been dumped over backwards while sitting in several different brands of them. Now if you would just employ a senior member of your family to evaluate the difficulty of getting up and down from them, you could do a real service to all us outdoorsmen that aren't as spry as they once were.
I am starting the PCT in three weeks and seriously considering a chair. I am an older hiker and dislike sitting on the ground or on a rock or log at camp for an extended period. I also don't want to be stuck in my tent just for comfort's sake. I got a bit to time to research but I am leaning into buying one. My base weight is at 17 pounds. As long as I am under 20 I am good. My concern is on durability. Just last weekend I saw a broken chair left at a camp during 3 day shake down hike. I just have a feeling chairs are short life items.
Thanks for the review. Just bought the high back version to try from Amazon. Some of these brands are way too high priced. This is no longer a novel design, competition is driving costs down.
I use an old school stool style chair. It’s surprisingly comfortable to sit on. Plus it’s much easier on my back, getting in and out of a lower chair is a little more uncomfortable on my back.
Good chair, their YL-06 model weight is 1302g and it is Long back version and fully aluminum, no plastic joints - reliability and price was 60 Cad few years ago and it is still good just be careful with a wind , to light..
Hi Luke! I own the chair that is the next one up if weight capacity. I really like the chair and it is quite comfortable. It IS kind of hard to get it together as you have use your strength to get pockets over the poles. Can't beat them for the price! I wish mine had the extra feet! It did not come with any at the time I purchased it. Maybe they will offer the feet separately at some time.
Goes with motorcycle fits perfect. I'm over 200lbs never had a problem. Got it cheap and NEVER CRIED ABOUT HOW CHEAP I GOT IT FOR. A lot cheaper than $48

I fish on the canals in england so yes pockets hold hooks. Floats lead. And the rest of my stuff i take. So they are handy.
You can use bag the chair comes in, as a big zipped chair pocket. Storage bag has two loops on sides, you can put empty bag on front legs, before they are inserted in hubs. Convenient easy to access for phone or snacks, and you can zip it so nothing falls out.
I do like to have a small pocket to keep a small flashlight in to have it handy before it gets dark at the campsite.
Just sold them a chair, thank you for what you do sir. I trust your opinion... Just bought a litefighter based on yiur videos as well
I have this chair but with a larger backrest and I love it. Not sure if I would take it on a long hike cuz is kinda big and is at the border of being heavy.
I have two different one tigris chairs and i use the pockets in both of them every single time. Drinks phones, trash, etc. Always comes useful
I’m still using the sportneer chair from one of your earlier videos. Works like a treat.
Ha!...so am I
I have the Sportneer chair per your previous reviews and love it. I do use the pockets from time to time for a drink or l slide my phone in one of them. Not sure if you’d still recommend it in comparison to this chair!
Just bought one of these chairs (backpacking chair - YL08) based on your review. Love it!!
I feel so old now. Chairs seem important now. I would never have cared about this video in my youth, but now, I watch with intrigue.
I'd buy it.
Looks pretty cool :)
If you're up for the 2 pound range, there's the Ta-Da Series 2 walking stick chair. It weighs 2.2 pounds. No back but still a very nice chair that holds up to 300 pounds and it's also a decent cane/walking-stick/trekking-thing. I think the Series 1 version is lighter but also does not hold as much weight.
It’s a great price well made. Total thanks for the review.
I'm glad you told me what the weight restriction is, I'm 220 looking at it like maybe I would fold that thing but
Glad it supports anothe 45 pounds and the price is freaking awesome
Not gonna lie I’ve always had a chair day 1. I joined the marines before I camp a backpacker/camper so the experience was basically plug in play only difference is I don’t where camo anymore and I’m not lugging a M240 Bravo through the woods
Great review
This will be my next camp chair
Thanks
I have this chair, to be honest I don't use the storage bag. Friends I went camping with who had more expensive chairs were all jealous of my anti-sink feet. They did indeed sink into the sandy soil we camped on and had to pull their chairs up several times. When they found out how inexpensive the chair was they all agreed it was a great buy.
Love the anti sink feet idea. I may 3D print some for my current chair.
I want one for my day trips. It doesn't take up a lot of space. Nice
I don’t use the pockets either, but I do like a good strong cup holder though.
Maybe you could glue the rubber feet to the legs and they won't come off with the anti-sink feet?
Thanks for the review..I might try one . I purchased (2) one Tigris chairs..they barely lasted 6 months before tearing and breaking…Just to add I’m 5’10’and 169 lbs 😎
That is a shame. I bought my OneTigris almost 3 years ago and I keep waiting for it to give up but keeps on going and I'm almost 6' 4" and 280 lbs. Quality control must have tanked.
Love your reviews
Hi Luke
I got to say i love my One tigris high back it's so comfortable, with the high back i can lounge in comfort either sitting upright or laying back. for me it's the right height for cooking, then once i have eaten fire pit going, just chillin, I can just lay back and watch the night sky, looking out for satellites passing over head, it is surprising just how many you can see crossing the star lit heavens above you.
5:52 when you took off the anti sinking feet, you took off the regular caps with it...
lol no biggie
Great for carrying to the beach which is what I’ll do if I decide to order one
I have a chair almost exactly like this one made by iClimb has anti sink feet I got off of Amazon I love. That looks like another hit for Nature Hike
It's the same weight as the Naturehike chairs that have been available for a couple of years of more. (I have 2 of them) unless America only got access to them recently. I am in England.
I have this chair and it’s been faultless. Fantastic quality and only $50 (AUD). Highly recommended.
when you took the extra feet cover off it also took off the original feet cover, may be hard to get the original cover out the extra ones
That is an impressive value.
Maybe they will offer the feet separately at some time.
i bought a 14:99 backpacking chair from aldi, just to try it out, tbf it was really comfy.
Exactly what I need for camping! I just looked on Amazon and they are only $39 dollars here in Canada!
I have sn Ozarktrails chair , I love it . Just carried it on a trip
It was nice haveing a chair next to the fire , my hikeing friend wants one now .
Goes with motorcycle fits perfect. I'm over 200lbs never had a problem. Got it cheap and NEVER CRIED ABOUT HOW CHEAP I GOT IT FOR. A lot cheaper than $48
