    I have the BTX 95 and it is a fantastic scope - the optical quality is excellent. Using two eyes is more relaxing than using one so for general extended viewing the BTX is ideal. The sighting device works very well too once you get used to it. I plan to get an STX for zoom capability, longer range identification and digiscoping. Expensive optics but hold their value well and the viewing experience is worth it in my opinion.

    Would it be suitable for astronomy? My ideal refractor would be equally suitable for terrestrial and sky viewing.

      Absolutely you can use the BTX for astronomy! For low light and night time situations, we always recommend pairing it with the 115 mm Objective to get the brightest image. Of course, it depends on which celestial bodies you're trying to see, but the BTX is more than adequate for many astronomy applications. Thank you for asking!

      Where’s the expert?

      @@jagmeetsmann Hello and thank you for commenting. Was your question a response to @mrh9635's question? We responded to his question as well but the RUclips comment section hides certain replies. Apologies if it is not visible.

      @@Optics4birding I posted in the wrong thread. But my question is where is the expert in the video? The kid in the video? Please read some expert opinions on scopereviews , cloudy nights etc. Just blabbering will only make this channel end up like optica exotica channel. People who spend money at this level are very particular and such general comments are of no use to them.

    Is there a difference between using the BTX + 1.7 doubler, comparing with the ATX - both at 60 x power?
    I mean: is the image a littlebit darker because of the 1.7 doubler or is there no difference at all?

    • @Optics4birding
      @Optics4birding  7 месяцев назад

      Great question! Technically yes, the 1.7x extender decreases the overall light transmission by introducing extra lenses, but it isn't drastic. It gets tough to compare the brightness because you're looking through the ATX with one eye and the BTX with two eyes. The ATX is brighter, but having both eyes open can make your brain think the BTX appears brighter. Hope this helps!

    I'm just getting into scoping and my cheap tripod is terribky unstable and renders the image unviewably bad. What tripod/head/support do you recommend for the most stability? Thank you.

    • @Optics4birding
      @Optics4birding  6 месяцев назад +2

      Great question! If you want the best stability available, we recommend the Gitzo and Swarovski carbon fiber tripods. Which head you choose depends on whether or not you're digiscoping or just viewing more casually. The Swarovski CTH or Gitzo GHF2w are our best sellers. If you want a larger one for digiscoping, the Manfrotto MVH500AH and Swarovski PTH are our best digiscoping heads. Hope this helps!
