      Not really, There just isn't any mention of human slavery in the SW films after TPM. Not mentioning it isn't the same thing as it's absence. But the not mentioning this is also true of the midiclorians, and the not so clever rewording of the prophecy from bring balance to the force to destroy the sith, and bring balance to the force. As Kate says, bad movies have bad stuff in them, hence, bad movies.

    The real reason the Jedi are idiots is because they allowed themselves to get stuck being civil-service flunkies. Instead of being mysterious heroes who appear in times of great need, they're like the interns who get stuck with all the jobs none of the regular employees want to do. Rather than trying to eliminate all EMOTIONAL attachments, they should have eliminated all POLITICAL attachments. They never should have had their main Jedi facility located on Coruscant. They should have all lived and trained at a secret base hiddden on a planet stuck in the Unknown Regions, with only Masters venturing out when they sensed a great need through the Force. If they wanted to keep a presence on Coruscant, it should have been isolated from all (non-Jedi) outside communication. Anyone who wanted to petition the Jedi for help would have to camp out in front of the big, sealed, front door, and hope that there was actually someone inside the dark, silent building that would eventually notice them.

      Thing is: Jedi are supposed to be monk-like figures who ignore all emotion for the sake of their extremist views (yes, they have extremist views). They should not be a governing entity in any fashion, nor an enforcing entity. The Force was supposed to be a religious way of life, not a way of becoming a military power with ties to politics.

      That...would definitely not work. The jedi were already cut off enough from galactic society enough that despite the fact that they regularly save the galaxy, their entire order was wiped out without a galactic upheaval.
      Order 66 is like if everyone working for the FBI were killed off by the military for working against the president. We would obviously flip our collective shit if that happened, but the galaxy sort of just collectively shrugged at that exact thing happening in the star wars galaxy, indicating how far the jedi were outside of the public's view.
      And your solution is to make them even MORE cut off from the outside world? The thing you're talking about is less of a religious order and more of a terrorist organization.

    • @misteryman526
      @misteryman526 6 лет назад +9

      @Korben Heagerty Ah, but in my scenario the Jedi Masters (and maybe Knights who were candidates for Mastery) would actually be going out and righting wrongs instead of just being bland government bureaucrats, so the common folk would have a better perception of them. Plus the Jedi wouldn't have to abide by the ridiculous disarmament foisted on them by the government. Imagine a small fleet of armed ships piloted by Jedi Masters showing up to enforce the Council's will at Naboo instead of a lame, unarmed diplomatic ship carrying one broken down Jedi Master and his apprentice? Or more likely the Jedi wouldn't even have waited that long, instead showing up at the manufacturing facilities for the Trade Federation droids and forcibly 'convincing' the Nemoidians not to create any droid armies that could destabilize the Galaxy.

    Actually the code forbids forming attachments. It says nothing about boning someone you don't give a shit about. You guys do know the whole point of the prequels was to show how wrong the Jedi were about everything right? Sex being forbidden, but they had no knowledge of medichlorian heredity. Jedi can only be trained from birth, but Anakin and Luke did just fine. Love and attachment are paths to the dark side, even though a LOT of Jedi stayed good despite secret relationships. There are only ever two Sith because they can't ever get along, even though there used to be LEGIONS of them. Even the nature of the Dark Side and the Light is incorrect. Jedi can perform evil just as easily as Sith can do good. The true nature of the force isn't good or evil, it's your focus and will to act.

    • @SamSphinx
      @SamSphinx 8 лет назад +16

      +hozz101 That is why Grey Jedi --- Who divert from the Jedi Code and/or use both sides of the force are the most balanced.

    • @Kazuma11290
      @Kazuma11290 8 лет назад +2

      ***** Yes! Anakin was definitely forced into that role thanks to the council's misunderstanding. But I wouldn't quite say the Sith were weak or over emotional. After all, Sideous once said to Luke, "I can feel your hate. It gives you FOCUS, makes you stronger!" Feeling anger and love are just ways to acheive focus, like meditation. It's just that the Jedi's oppression over the Sith is what caused Sith like Palpatine and Dooku to turn evil. Even the Sith Code doesn't mention evil or galactic domination, it only mentions freedom. The best examples of true Sith and Jedi are Ahsoka Tano and Asaj Ventress from the clone wars. Ahsoka was a Jedi who, thanks to Anakin's teachings, understood the value of emotions, so she left the Order, because she knew there was something wrong with what they were doing. Asaj was taught by Dooku, but after being betrayed by him, she eventually gave up assassination, aided certain Jedi, like Ahsoka, and even had a secret relationship with Obi-Wan.

    • @Kazuma11290
      @Kazuma11290 8 лет назад +2

      Samuel Leumas Being Grey doesn't necessarily make you more powerful. It just means you see value in the teachings of both, making you more well rounded. But utilizing all teachings will make you a little stunted in both. There really isn't a single best way to attain power. All you can do is hope to be born with good genes and live a lifestyle that suits you best. A calm and collected Jedi, a sympathetic Sith, or a balanced Grey.

    • @Kazuma11290
      @Kazuma11290 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Sideous wasn't killed by his own emotions. He was killed for being an evil tyrant, by his fellow Sith Vader, because he loved and wanted to save his son. A Sith brought balance to the force by killing an evil Sith for the sake of a Jedi. And why did Sideous become evil in the first place? Because he was raised in age when the two sides were at war, Light is not inherently good, and Dark is not inherently evil. And neither is more powerful than the other.

    Here's a mind fuck: in the 6th Star Wars, Leia says that she can remember Padme, and that it seemed Padme was always sad and lonely. This means that Leia must have been with Padme til she was at least four or five, since there aren't many people who are able to remember their toddler years into adulthood, unless it was something very traumatic. But in the third Star Wars, they kill Padme right after she gives birth to Luke and Leia, so Leia NEVER spent anytime with her! Leia either lied to Luke about remembering their mother, or she could apparently have out of body Force experiences while she was a fetus.

    • @houseofaction
      @houseofaction 8 лет назад +1

      +BoundbyCronus the force is an all encompassing energy it binds the entire universe together masters of it can use the force to see the future or even look into the past in episode 3 wee see padme look directly at her children and they look directly at her. Leia could most definitely have remembered her via the force as both her and luke have strong sensitivity to the force

    • @Lovesickobsession19
      @Lovesickobsession19 8 лет назад +3

      Then why can't Luke remember her then? He seems to be much more sensitive to the Force than Leia does. Vader senses the Force in Luke, but not in Leia, then she suddenly becomes sensitive to the force to give her hope that they will win the battle? It sounds very Deus Ex Machina to me.

    But the Empire is a Fascist state, slavery has not been abolished and there are all those forced laborers. Life is difficult for those no in the inner circles, and aliens might as well kiss their sorry asses (or whatever they have) goodbye because the Empire is extremely racist!
    Though the Jedi were dogmatic and close minded in their philosophy and action they still held the Republic together for dozens of crisis's. They are all well trained and powerful individuals who make lasting differences in those they seek to help. Though I would call them misguided and naive they are still a Force for good in a greater galaxy.

    • @Ramschat
      @Ramschat 8 лет назад +12

      +Chandler Hull The republic government was as racist, it was more corrupt, it couldn't prevent war over a trade dispute and slavery is worse still than forced labor. All this under the benevolent protection of the Jedi. Also, the building of the death stars must have been a massive boon to the economy, think of the jobs created!
      P.S.: Cloned lives matter!

    • @honeyham6788
      @honeyham6788 8 лет назад +5

      +Chandler Hull not really clear how they are fascist. The only actual Empire locations we see are colonies, which seem to have no real government oversight except when except droids land with top-secret government files, or are large moons serving as military bases. We never see any actual cities run by the Empire. And just having a military doesn't innately make you fascists.
      and where is it that they say that the Empire is racist? We never see the storm troopers out of their armor and only hear a few of them talk.
      what forced labor camps?
      and what difficult lives? Luke's aunt and uncle work on a water farm, yeah, but so? they were poor farmers living on a distant colony, it's not like they are going to have the best lives, but they still chose their lives. Luke's uncle was a farmer before the empire even went into effect.

      +Sebastian Ferguson Chewbacca was originally a slave of the empire before Han rescued him. That's why Chewie and Han are so close because he owes Han his life.
      The Empire was Human first, that's how they were fascist. Admittedly this was all in the books and promotional writings, not really the movie proper, hence why it's not that obvious.

Just look at Atop the Fourth Wall's review of the Star Wars comics, adapted from the very first draft of the star wars script

    Okay for the record Anakin was trained by one of the best in the business, greatness is to be expected and he's not that far off from the age most padawans are trained from. He was what 8? Thats pretty young and he had the reflexes already from pod racing. These were natural gifts.
    Second Luke didn't really defeat anything. Vader was trying to turn him, let him get pissed off and pretty much got his ass kicked because he didn't want to hurt his son. The emperor was thrown off the balcony by Vader not Luke, so I dont know how you came to the conclusion that was his doing.

    • @Raknarroth
      @Raknarroth 8 лет назад +6

      +blacktee31 Anakin wasn't trained by one of the best. He was trained by a snarky apprentice who happened to complete his basic training. Obi-wan should not have trained Anakin, he was too young to take on an apprentice that old who has attachments. Qui-gon should have been the one to train Anakin but death screwed that one. Anakin was 10 when he started his training and that's the range of puberty so by the time he starts pulling of some major feats of strength his hormones are already making him egotistical, and self-centered. And yea Luke got played by Vader.

    • @blacktee31
      @blacktee31 8 лет назад +1

      Raknarroth Look keep your personal opinion about characters personalities out of it. Anakin had natural talents that made him a bit more gifted, he had good instincts that were eventually taken advantage of by someone who was supposed to be extremely influential and powerful(how else does somebody become a world leader). Obi-Wan also defeated someone not even his master could handle one on one, why? Because he exceeded expecations he was immensely talented and you see Qui-gon even have a bit of a passing the torch moment with Obi-wan letting him know he was ready. That's why in the next film he's a member of the council, they dont just pick anybody to be on the council, Duku even talks about how he was held in such high esteem and if Anakin wasn't such a hot head they mayve been able to take him out. Obi-wan was obidient with Qui-gon if anything btw.
      10? Girls hit puberty around 9 or 10 Boys hit puberty at 12 or 13. Im also pretty sure thats not how hormones work. Hormones make you prone to mood swings like anger, sadness,etc thats all about emotion and Jedi are all about control. Ego is a personality trait and has nothing to do with emotion. Anakin was arrogant probably because he was already being treated as a special case and was extremely talented despite being "late" in his training and that had to do with the Senators influence on him constantly whispering in his ear and make him resent and distrust Obi-wan.

    • @Raknarroth
      @Raknarroth 8 лет назад

      Whoa not inciting personal opinion at all, in the first 3 films any time Obi-wan has a conversation that disagrees with what he feels is right he has a snarky comeback, which Anakin picks up on. Episodes 2 and 3 are riddled with back chat from the two. I'm not saying Obi-wan wasn't talented in episodes 2 and 3, he very much was, but based on the way he acted in 1, he wasn't the best choice to train Anakin.
      In girls, puberty usually starts around 11 years of age, but it may start as early as 6 or 7 years of age. In boys, puberty begins around 12 years as age, but may start as early as 9 years of age. While you're right with Anakin being treated differently because of his "Chosen One" destiny, his main drive to being a Jedi was to fight those that impose their power on others, with a side note to impressing Padme. He even says it in episode one that he wanted to come back to Tatooine and free the slaves and in Episode 2 his first reaction to Padme is that of a hormonal teenager. The strong emotional ties driving those goals are caused by his pubescent hormones.

      +Raknarroth all though obi wan called qui gon master obi wan was still a full fledged bona fide jedi knight a jedi takes on a padawan after they have had there trials and are officially given the rank of knight . after watching his master die in front of him controlling his anger and defeating a sith he was given the rank of knight Obi wan was one of the most powerful jedi he had power that some of the councle members didn't even have he survived the clone wars and order 66 thats how powerful he is

    • @Raknarroth
      @Raknarroth 8 лет назад

      houseofaction Right but it takes years to gain the rank of Master and take on an apprentice, which Obi-wan, by the end of Episode 1 still wasn't even a knight. In between Episodes 1 and 2 Obi-wan takes the trials and acquires Knight status and eventually Master but we are told that Obi-wan is Anakin's only master. So we are missing information about the events between the two movies. Obi-wan is a powerful member of the order, and learns techniques few can hope to master, I'm just saying by the end of the first film he's not ready to teach Anakin.

    I got bored so I am here to tear apart this 2 year old video.
    1. The Jedi didn't want a massive army of Force Users running around. That happened in the EU and it didn't end well. They want a manageable size. They knew if there were Dynasties of Jedi that the Galaxy would suffer for it, and the Jedi would be looked at as this elite ruling class and come to be feared making it easier to overthrow them.
    Side Note: How does Palpatine come to defeat them? By turning the Galaxy against them, blaming them for the costly war and saying they were trying to overthrow their elected officials.
    2. Jedi are allowed to have sex and even father children. But that it needs to come with the understanding that you are not beholden to them above all else. Ki-Adi-Mundi the Jedi Master with the tall head has several wives and children. This is because his race has a low birth rate so he is permitted so many. But the Jedi Masters know a Jedi is going to get his Dick Wet eventually and yeah may produce a child or two. But they want that Jedi to be loyal to the cause above his children because he could be compromised. Kinda like how Vadar was when he betrayed Sidious.
    3. Jedi use Lightsabers because the weapon resonates with their force power and makes it easier to use than for a simple non force user. So its a weapon that feels right. Also its more practical for regulating how powerful the Jedi appear to be. Why does a Jedi need a blaster? Do they go out hunting people down with the intent to kill? If they were armed to the teeth every time you saw them you would assume so right? If every time you saw a Cop they where decked out in full Swat carrying an assault rifle and a tear gas launcher (Grenade Launcher?) you would assume this guy is loaded for bear so to speak and eventually if every cop looked like that you would hardly call them peace keepers, they would be a occupying military force. And Cops can't throw cars at you with their minds. So seeing a guy with a limited reach weapon like the saber while you have a blaster makes you feel more at ease, even if the Jedi can deflect your blaster bolt back at you and kill you without ever needing to touch your gun.
    4. HA the empire didn't abolish Slavery, they Abolished HUMAN slavery. So yes they freed the human slaves. But for example lets look at the wookies, all are slaves or hunted for sport. Their entire home world is turned into a breeding farm for slaves. And these where the guys fighting FOR the republic. The Twi'lek people are STILL enslaving themselves and being enslaved by others. We all already know this because of how specist the Empire is. They didn't make things work they forced thing to work the way they wanted no matter who it hurt or killed. Orders from the Clone Troopers where harsh as fuck like Order 37. Which means if the Empire wanted to catch someone and they thought this person was in your city. They would round up all the civilians and begin killing them one by one till the person turned themselves in or till they had to move onto a new city because they killed all the people in that one.Now yes it was an order of last resort and it was rarely used but it was on the books and at least performed on the rare occasion.
    Side Note: In case you do not get how fucked up this is, imagine our soldiers going into a city in the middle east and rounding up all the men, women, and children there because they got word terrorist were in the city. Then they said unless someone turned the terrorist in or the terrorist turned themselves in they would begin killing the civilians till they did. Hardly something we would call a working system of a just government would we?
    5. Well we are not clear, the Academy could be anything, the Rebels could have had their own Academy hidden from the Empire to train their rebels. But its possible its an Academy inside the Empire. But it also may have been the only way to get off world. We have heard of kids joining the army to get out of town and start a new life.
    6. The Empire was evil not because of the Sith in charge but because of the system they set up. Humans where the top species and they looked down and treated all others as inferior because they saw it as them being just that much better. The Human leaders and generals in the armies where far more cruel and vicious than the primitive species they lorded over. Remember it was not the SITH who ordered Alderean to be destroyed but Tarkin a normal every day human admiral who had no force powers but was given power to dominate whomever he wanted because the Empire didn't care.

      Working on established Canon (the films, most of which I hate), rather than the EU (the novels, which I love to death):
      Consider the fact that the Force itself has pan-galactic influence, and can affect the physical world either through individuals attuned to it or through sites of accumulated life and violent death. Also, consider the fact that it manifests itself in the form of organelles within the cells of hundreds of galactic species, each having undergone their very own evolutionary cycles up until the time of the movies, allowing every one the possibility of coming into contact with it.
      Lovecraft used to write about such things when talking about eldritch Elder Gods and Cthulhu. It comes as no surprise that the Jedi would consider the long view (aka the "butterfly effect") of their actions prior to doing so, as each action _resonates_ within the Force. Also, they _know_ over their long ass history that the Force is as a lightsaber, capable of cutting others as well as themselves, if used in a manner without consideration of the consequences, or at least the perusal of other "mundane" solutions.
      As for the Sith, in canon, they are retarded teenagers playing with a loaded gun. No consideration of the aftereffects of utilizing magical bullshit upon living beings (ALL OF WHICH are connected to the aforementioned Lovecraftian Elder God), no efficient means of keeping a civilization afloat (the Empire, all of its works), and no comprehension of the possibility of defeat (Maul, Tyrranus, Vader, Sidious, etc.).
      Sure, the Jedi are like Tolkien's ents personality-wise, but like those self-same walking/talking trees, they have to live with others in Fangorn Forest afterwards, regardless if they planted a few more saplings or burnt everything to the ground. The Sith, carrying the analogy along, are like the orcs that came in and raped the land, plundering without thought of the future.

    To be honest, The Rule of two thing with the sith should've applied to the Jedi because the reason why the force became unbalanced in the first place is that the Sith kept their numbers low by having their apprentices kill their masters while the jedi built up their order like crazy.

    • @loudboy317
      @loudboy317 8 лет назад +11

      Not true because in the Clone Wars cartoon, Darth Maul mentioned that it was the clone wars itself (caused by his master PalpSidious and Count Dooku) that caused the force to become unbalanced. It had nothing to do with the Jedi being huge in numbers because when Darth Vader killed them off, it didn't bring balance to the force. It only led to further imbalance because it's like creating a tsunami wave, it destroys all life and all it's left is chaos and destruction. Only when the Sith are destroyed does it bring balance back to the force.

      The only way that would work if the Jedi allowed would find a Force Sensitive child, rate if they were worth training, and if not... they would kill the child.
      There's stuff in the series about Force Sensitive beings using their power to dominate normal people. Really, the Jedis were trying to take this anomaly that no one can truly predict and turn them into productive members of the Galactic Society instead of them getting too heady with their powers.

      "Bring balance to the force" refers to the idea that the Sith, and the dark side, were not meant to exist. They were a mistake and balance would be the destruction of the dark side completely. Vader did in fact bring about this kind of balance in the movies when he killed Palpatine, the prophecy just didn't really say "oh. yeah. He'll also wipe out the Jedi."
      That being said, by the Clone Wars Era the Jedi as a whole were largely corrupt as an organization, having moved away from their original mission statement as peacekeepers and increasingly into politics. So that could also be seen as bringing balance.
      The third way you could interpret that is the fact that, in the old EU, Luke becomes closer to being a grey Jedi than either Jedi or Sith. Grey Jedi believe that the light side is not inherently good and the dark side is not inherently evil. The powers that come from each side should both be used and taught. The separation is more in how the powers are used.

      While i get your points. From my perspective....Balance - a situation in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions.
      With only the "good" users of the force ie: the Jedi being the vast majority it only seems natural that balance should mean an opposing force ie: of evil force users Sith becoming at the least on par with Jedi.
      Although i don't think the Jedi are good and the Sith evil, it's just the Jedi are pro life and the Sith are not. In their own way both groups are vying for their own sense of order. The real job of the Sith should be to promote utter chaos in contempt of any order in the service of entropy..

      I always thought it was bringing balance as a whole new doctrine. I expected Luke not to be light or dark, just a balanced guy that his friends call The Dude.

      Actually originally the Force-users were just one group, they split up because they had different visions on the force. So the Sith were not meant to exist but neither were the Jedi.

    • @leonmercury3732
      @leonmercury3732 7 лет назад +1

      @Gareth Jones actually... The Sith doctrine is more "might makes right, let your emotions control you", while Jedi philosophy is "emotion leads to entropy, order is essential". It's less pro and anti as it is two extremes of a spectrum, and the balance being the centerpoint of listening to both emotion and logic.

    and as for humans having the most Jedi... well humans are the most numerous species in the galaxy, and effectively the "baseline" species, high reproductive rates, ability to survive just about anywhere, boom, lots of kids, and the law of averages says there is a higher chance of them being force sensitive, so even though some species are naturally more inclined towards force sensitivity, the simple fact that humans outnumber them by several orders of magnitude means there will be more human Jedi

    Comparing Anakin and Luke to other Jedi isn't really fair, one of them is the Jedi messiah, and one was literally created out of magic to be the most powerful space wizard of all time.
    One of the primary reasons the Jedi take children young is so that they can instill in them the proper mindset needed to use the force without becoming corrupted and turning to the dark-side. (Every single Jedi that isn't Luke that we see learn trained after childhood is a Sith. and Luke cheats). because things like emotions or a desire for power are all it takes to start becoming corrupted it is vitally important that the Jedi are able to monitor every step of a force sensitive child development. Ideally most of their days would be spend meditating or reading philosophy or some such, with the occasional light-saber training with yoda being a fun activity/reward for their continued progress, (after all who wouldn't want to swing a laser sword around).
    Teaching Anakin the way they did was dangerous, they made an exception because of the prophecy and look where it got them, slaughtered in their own temple! they also made an exception for Luke but that was because they needed him to be able to fight Vader almost immediately after h began using his force powers (otherwise Vader would have sensed his presence in the force and come to take him away) there were simply not enough Jedi left to protect a padawan at that time. and once again it was dangerous, there was a large possibility that Luke would fall to the dark-side, Vader saw this, which is why he offered Luke the option of ruling the galaxy together. (something he would not have done if he foresaw zero possibility of Luke accepting it.

      Wertsir However, what you just said proves their point that force powers are hereditary and it makes no sense to forbid Jedis from bonning. It's not like they're affraid that this'll cause sith, cause there already are a lot of siths that don't have a jedi mommy and daddy
      Also, you just kept on supporting their argument. Yeah, Anakin got special treatment but look! He and some dumb-ass stormtroopers kill all the jedis!
      All the jedis! The sandman and the most incompetent sharp shooters in every universe kill the galaxy's elite force trained from childhood!
      Plus, the whole Paly cloaked their mind thing? How could Palpatine cloak every single Jedi's brain 24/7 so they don't see their impending doom?
      Simple! They're all dumb

    Looking back on this the Empire probably did abolish slavery for probably not across the board. And for another thing it likely only happened on select planets where it was the case across the board. Otherwise it was probably selective just like how pretty much every stormtrooper wasn't an alien, Literally somehow 90% or at best 80% of them were all humans and how it took like 30 years of Star Wars later on for us to get a character like Admiral Thrawn whom they admit is pretty much a rarity in the Empire for being a non-human high-ranking member of their military organization. And not only that from how he operates you would think he was actually a Moff not an Admiral which is way higher. Like Moff Gideon from the Mandalorian. Which seems to be a pattern every time an Empire of some kind pops up in the Star Wars universe - human supremacy or over inclusion dictates the narrative Most of the time. Despite having a still very eclectic cultures of various different intelligent life forms from whatever Yoda and Grogu are to Wookies, Twi'leks, to Togruta and everything else. Yet the story almost always just settles on the humans. And the same thing goes for Star Trek unless the protagonist and their main group of supporting characters include some sort of hybrid or something like Spock or “7 of 9”. And it's not as if the aliens are extremely different from most humans anyway. They breathe oxygen, Most of them are omnivorous, many are probably carbon-based which is why carbonite freezing is so painful, as well as many of them being on the same or similar levels of technological advancement until a more advanced society comes around at some point. Which is why just about everybody on every planet even if they don't have a massive space fleet of their own have or have a understanding of blasters and can build light speed capable vessels like the wookies who pretty much just live in trees for most of their lives.
    Michael might be right 😅😂. I forgot what species he is but Master Ki-Adi Mundi has like 7 wives and 13 children because he comes from an endangered species/race. But for all of that they might as well just put their remaining people on some sort of planet that's protected by a Jedi Temple. And maybe keep that as the Sexy Jedi getaway resort that they all visit to commingle and maybe breed. Again using a Star Trek reference they could just use it like planet Ryza/Riza/Risa (pronounced Rie-zha) where it's basically a Beautiful vacation planet. Or some sort of nearly uninhabitable place with beautiful vistas that most people are going to stay the hell away from 😅.

    Movie Theory: I posit that the only reason the "no sex" rule exists for Jedi is to PREVENT too many force users from being born into the Galaxy. Michael has a point, it's very likely Force Sensitivity is a genetic trait. So the Jedi made that rule as a means of keeping their population in check. Too many force users would mean they would be harder to keep track of, and increase the likelyhood of the reemergence of the oldschool Sith (like, a whole Empire of them, not just this "Rule of Two" shit). They just tagged the whole "no attachments" thing to make it like a Monk ordeal, when the primary reason for it was population control.

    Jedi don’t have sex for two primary reason. The first is the obvious issue that comes with attachments which can push someone to the dark side. The second one is to intentionally keep the Jedi numbers low. When they were just doing whatever, the number of dark jedi or just actual Sith would increase. So the only option was to keep the numbers low and the only new jedi were the will of the force.

    This clip seems to imply midichlorians cause the force which is a misconception a lot of people have (and the reason many don't like hearing about them). But if you really examine how they were used and look closer at their explanation, it's the opposite that's true:
    medichlorians do not cause the force. They are not the carriers of force power. Plageous describes them as a parasite like creature. A small microorganism that is attracted to force sensitive people. So the stronger in the force you are, the more medichlorians will choose to live in you.
    So it's the force that causes midichlorians, it is not the midichlorians that cause the force. Detecting them is just detecting the parasites that feed off the force.

      Vincent Beers thank the Force there are intelligent people in this world !
      I never understood why so many people were buggered by that.
      And even if midichlorians carried or relayed force, it would’ve been fine. The force is supposed to be living, what better to show that than to make it flows to sentient creatures from living organisms ? Not considering that 1) it’s logical in a universe where force parasites already existed, 2) it’s credible scientifically since if force eaters already exist then they ought to exist at smaller scales and 3) it makes perfect sense for a technologically enlightened society to not produce fanatical lunatics hooked on philosophy and make believe to explain their powers but rational thinking and scientific inquiry, thus leading to in universe scientific explanations of how their powers work.
      To say that midichlorians ruin the force because it’s a too « down to earth » explanation is as stupid as saying that lightsaber are ruined because we know they use crystals to generate their blade.
