    The video was official but it was a reissue. There was no original video with them when it was a hit the first time. By the time it was reissued Freddie had passed some years before so they edited two separate performances and cut them together. Queen and Bowie never preformed it live irl. Bowie has a phenomenol 50 year career, is regarded as one of the greatest and most respected singer/songwriters. He, was a fashion icon too and has around 60 hits around the world. And if you don't know was, knowing for constantly changing his musical styles and appearance from record to record with great effect. Rock, Soul/R&B, Electronica, Drum n bass, industrial rock, jazz and so on. As you hear more of his songs you'll be '' Wait, I know this! '' 😀👨‍🎤

    I was so very fortunate to have been there the evening this song started. Out for an evening in Montreux with friends (sound engineer and wife), who worked for the recording studio (which Queen bought) and an impromptu jam session started up....... resulting in Under Pressure. I feel so lucky to have met them all during my days of living in Montreux. To the best of my knowledge they never performed this on stage together so it's very artistically edited. Two great legends RIP

    Back in the day, I was a massive Bowie fan and my neighbour a huge Queen fan - we spent many hours arguing who was the best, Bowie or Queen - and then they brought this out and we were forced to concede to each other. My neighbour has passed now and I wish I could have that argument just one more time - RIP Nige.

    Plus David Bowie, but hearing them together Man!!! Wonderful. I have watched all of your videos, all I can say you have grown so much in your love and optional on this music. They will both be so sorely missed in this world, along with so many other famous singer, songwriters. Will keep listening to you and your words pity you missed these legends. Sadly, Freddie and David never got to perform this live together- hence this video being a bit of a compilation. They recorded it together of course, but David first performed it live at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert after his death.
    A lot of people hear the bass line from this and realise it was used on Vanilla Ice's 'Ice Ice Baby' - a lot of younger people know that better than this original.

    David Bowie was a great artist. I felt honoured to have worked on a time capsule that honoured his life and works after he died..it was a glass and brass circular time capsule with the lyrics from his most prominent songs engraved around the brass frame so a real pice of rock history memorial memorabilia
    You have to check out his last song that he released it w
    As David Bowie's message to his fans basically saying he was dying and goodbye to the world

    Whoever spliced this together did it really well. They actually NEVER performed on stage together so this video is 2 separate performances spliced together ❤️ . As they both wrote this song together, they agreed that both Freddie Mercury and David Bowie would put the song on BOTH of their albums, with credits going to both of them. I think (correct me if im wrong), that this song was written in a pub on a beer mat. It's such a shame they never got to perform on stage together. RIP to both of them. Both giants in their crafts.❤❤

    You’re right. It’s not an official video. They never performed this song together live. They sang together on the recording in the studio. What you’re looking at is Queen doing the song without David in concert, and David is singing the song at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1991, I believe, and Annie Lennox was singing Freddie’s part. The entire Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert is incredible! It’s almost like Live Aid all over again, with the fucking unbelievable lineup of artists! As you can imagine, when Queen call you up and ask you to come and sing with them to honour Freddie Mercury, well… Check it out! One of the greatest concerts ever!

    If I'm not mistaken, the way they individually sang their parts was completely improvised. I could also be wrong but Jon Bon Jovi spoke of how he worked at the studio where they recorded this and he saw them but couldn't speak to them because staff weren't allowed to talk to the artists. This is a masterpiece, and you should really check out more David Bowie. He's been around since the 60s and just like queen, his music is timeless.

    • @johnwilson5743
      @johnwilson5743 Год назад +5

      Sorry Amy but you've got it all wrong. This video was a compilation from two separate Concerts: Queens 1986 concert at Wembley plus Bowie's tribute to Freddy at his funeral concert in 1991. In the tribute Bowie did it as a duo with Annie Lenox from Eurythmics. The other Queen members were the backing band on both occasions but you can see they were wearing different clothing. NOTE: I had watched BOTH Concerts so knew immediately what had happened. The person who had fused the two together did an excellent job. To check, you should do a search for Freddy's tribute Concert and Bowie/Lenox singing "Under Pressure". You'll recognise where Annie gets cut from the performance.
      So, Freddy and David NEVER sung the song in public together. Their one huge chance might have been at Live Aid in 1985 but it didn't happen. Cheers.

    As for this song, I'd heard Queen on the radio, and liked some of their songs as they were coming out in the 80's, but it wasn't until the mid 90's when I first saw the movie Highlander, and heard the soundtrack, that led me to Queen, and eventually to this song, and then onto David Bowie.
