Took me less than 45 minutes. Used three 2x4"s which I had on hand because I wanted 36" instead of 32" so it would be less cozy. Used a pneumatic framer instead of drill driver and ring shank nails. Very satisfied. Thanks.

I love your DIY's for many reasons: 1st the aesthetics I love the way they look, clean lines & simplicity of them. 2nd puppies making appearances in videos are always a plus for me! 3rd the ease of making these DIY's. 4th the affordability factor. 5th that they are DIY and when I am finished making one of your projects I can feel good that I have made it myself! Thank you! 👍

I made two 44” X 16 3/4” benches for my giant 20” x 16” tall garden pots. I chose to use pressure treated lumber. With the extra top piece, I needed 7, 8’ pieces of lumber. Each bench came in at $52.50. I had screws, outdoor Tightbond, and outdoor stain-sealer for the project already. Your plans were perfect. I did appreciate having a Framer’s square to square up the legs. There is no way I could buy these benches for the amount I spent on them. Lumber costs have gone nuts. I knew it was going to be over a hundred dollars to build these but I was glad I went with your design. It saved a lot of lumber. Thanks again. Cheers!

  • @devonday2796

Thanks for the great tutorial. I made two of these out of pressured-treated 2 X 4s. They were 44” long and 16 1/2 inches wide. I built them to hold giant planters that were 20” wide and 16” tall. It took 7 8’ boards but I was able to cut and assemble them 5 hours. I’m going to seal them with an outdoor stain. I am very happy with your practical design. Lumber prices in California are still sky-high. I had the screws and the strain. For lumber alone, this bench with four top pieces to accommodate the big pots, cost $105 for two benches. For me it was worth it. I closed my eyes at the Big Box store when I checked out. I guessed it would be over a hundred. It is our new reality. I could never have bought these sturdy benches for $52.50 each. Thanks again for the great plan. Cheers!

ok so prices have stablized and are coming down, but I needed both a bench for planters and to sit on and a terrain leveler here in hilly Washington. I used landscape timbers that I stained and polyed. put the timbers a foot and 1/2 into the ground and have them two inches above it. with cedar pickets to hold the soil works great

I love your channel! For a super novice like me, your instructions are perfect. I did a practice project using your bench tutorial. Took me a bit longer because my drill died as I did not have it fully charged, I adjusted my bench to 10 ", 15" & 35" because I had a lot of scrap wood to use, I had 1 x 4's so I doubled a few of those and made 4 rows for the seat instead of 3 & I added a 2x4 middle piece for extra stability underneath. Overall easy to adjust your instructions & next I will try your farm house table. Your channel is the best I came across to build an easy peasy bench. I am going to paint mine black. Mine isn't perfect but it was fun to build. Thank you for your channel, hope to see more great projects 😊

I live in the UK and I made one of these out of scrap timber from previous projects, they were not all of them were same width. However , with an electric plane this was easily sorted. To buy the sawn treated timber still cost £20 roughly 30 dollars. Tip; make sure the timber you buy is straight and not twisted !!!

Just something to set drinks and a plate on while we get in and out of our bar height chairs. Maybe this will work if I make the legs longer and add an extra support in the middle between the legs? I think I'll try it. 😊

Yes you really want to use guide holes unless you maybe have self drilling screws
If the screw is fat and large
Hammer is better as it never losses grip on screw but it depends
