Actually, the sequence to trouble shoot is - in order of operation: 1) Chassis ground under driver door. 2) 4x4 fuse on side of dash. 3) trac fuse under hood. 4) T Case encoder motor loom connector above T Case in tunnel. 5) Front diff actuator loom wire connector as you show here. 5) check for damage to T case (cracks are common) and look for metal shaving in gear oil. 6) troubleshoot t case encoder motor (more common failure than front actuator). 7) Trouble shoot dash switch. 8) troubleshoot front actuator (3rd most common part failure). 9) troubleshoot TCCM under dash (least most common part failure). 10) Wiring issue elsewhere not related to a connector plug (mouse/ packrat damage).
I'm having trouble with mine. How do I check transfer case encoder motor. My switch will not light up at at. I replaced transfer case control module thinking that was the issue.
I wish I could fix my 4wd. I need it so bad for work. I cannot figure it out. Can you come work on my truck. I will pay you 400 to fix and figure out. I just replaced the techm it sucked. I am so exhausted trying to figure it out.
Hi I have the same truck. My 4wd has not worked for 5 years now because I cannot figure out wtf is up. I have not tried what you have witnessed. I hope this may be the problem. I've replaced my ECU, and techm in the transmission. It still did not work after that. I'm going to test for 4wd at the actuator like you recommended. I will be so happy if this works.
I dash taken apart and the 4wd knob was unplugged. I had to drive it then when I put it back together the light was on and it wouldn't go back in 4wd to you think it might be the same issue??
hey man u posed a video on this truck about the trans hard shifting and my friend has one of these models and he is able to shift it from the tree could i do this on my 94?? has a 60e. big help if i could get an answer
Did it happen to come with any odd can bus faults? Mine has had an ongoing issue since may. Few days the speedo dropped out and came right back. Several things happen together. That was just 1st thing. It hasnt happened since. But trans shifting gets all crazy. Its shut itself off at wot now 3 times. Im learning to hate it. 2012 ltz that just turned 80k. It was mint before all this crap.
I have an 08 gmc Sierra 1500 4wd I changed the accurater and transfer case module and the 4wd wont work the light for the 4wd does not blink or anything let me know what you think
What did urs end up being? Mine? Changed transfer motor and front axle motor. Mine will do 4 hi and 4 low, by itself each time I start it. Solid orange light.
What if mines is stuck on auto and when I switch to any other selection it does NOT BLINK just stays on auto , the problem first started when I had AbS and stabili track light and I fixed that by buying a new 25amp fuse , now I have this actuator or switch problem and I’m wondering which one to buy first to fix this problem ?
85 percent of the ones I mess with is a bad wire in one of the plug-ins , always unplug, inspect , clean , lube with good electrical grease , then plug them back in , before ordering parts , every year in fact ..I'm waiting for someone to come out with a manual replacement of some sort , electronic switch 4x4 is pretty much a joke ...always has been ..

I have the exact same issue with my 07. Just ordered an actuator. Changing it out this weekend and see if that helps.
Did that solve the problem?
@@Scottslookingabout yes, easy fix and working fine now.
