How to reset your front 4wd actuator in your 07.5 to 10 LMM Duramax! (Service 4 wheel drive)

- This has happened to me two times because of my truck going dead over a voltage drain issue (my radio). If you have a service 4 wheel drive indication come up on your dash this will be the easiest fix. If this doesn't work for you then you might have a more serious issue.

I want to say thank you, you saved me from going crazy. Replaced transfer motor, actuator, filled all fluids, changed selector switch, still not working. Found this video while in bed jumped up and tried, it finally fixed it. Thank you thank you thank you!
I cant thank you enough. I checked all my fuses and even replace my actuator. Lost $100 on that but now I have a spare I guess. I wish I would have found your video sooner. You just save me probably around $1,000 or so if I had gone to a mechanic. I'm not rich man so thank you.

My tensioner pulley went out and serpentine belt came off causing me to run without alternator charge briefly. Replaced pulley and belt. A few days later I tried 4wd and got service 4wd sys message. Searched the symptoms on YT, found this video, and tried the procedure. It worked! Thanks RUclips and this video...saved me lots of grief! Oh mine is a 2013 3500.

Hell ya!! I already need a new injector...probably replace them all and glow plugs...but, just about winter here in Alaska and this fixed a problem that I can't live with here for the next 9 months!!!!

This totally worked on my ‘08 Sierra 1500, 5.3L. It was stuck in auto 4WD, and this fixed it. I just followed your instructions, and it worked, first try. Thanks man!

Thank you! Been service 4WD for over a year now… I had replaced both dead batteries! Man, I was about to put some real $$ into figuring it out, for nothing. Now it’s actual service time for the transfer case.
Bro I know you posted this 2 years ago but just like hundreds of the comments I've had a similar outcome, my 4x4 stopped working which of course thru the "service four wheel drive" light and code in the duramax. It was on for 1 year until my transfer case completely fucked up and stopped working, I replaced my transfer case with a brand new one from General motors instead of rebuilding thr old one... I most likely forgot to mention my transfer case had a massive crack adding to the inside being grenaded. That being said, after spending $ 2300 I obviously thought that would fix the issue..it didn't..I went thru the 2 fuse compartments in cab and under hood, no luck, replaced 4x4 switch..nothing..factory reset..nothing....I FOUND YOUR VIDEO AND AFTER ALMOST 2 YEARS I HAVE 4X4 AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH I COULD HUG YOU RIGHT NOW NO HOMO YOU MADE MY NEW YEAR 2022 OFF TO A GREAT START

Been fukn with my 4x4 the past few hours now since your vid showed me how to fix the issue. It's nice to be able to hook with 4x4 launches instead of just spinning

I've replaced the fuel filter, and drained it several times, but still the same.

Your video saved my ass. In my 2009 GMC LMM with dump trailer full of dirt parked in a muddy area. 4wd wouldn't engage reset worked like a charm. Only thing different my accessory key setting I discovered was 1st click forward. Thank you

Thank you. I unplugged my switch when I was putting in an aftermarket radio and I couldn't switch it into 4 wheel drive after. This worked perfectly!!
