If ski prices go up past a point youll lose consumer demand to purchase new gear every year or two. If prices break a threshold people will hold onto them for longer and then the industry would be faced with having to make lower quality items in order to force a new purchase due to wear out which will in turn create a feedback loop of lower quality at higher prices. Just an opinion from a econimics standpoint from a consumer perspective.
