    Great video! I'm so torn between these 2 boards. I'm an intermediate rider looking to level up this coming season by adding in butters, jumps, and spins. I feel good controlling my board through turns but want to take my riding to that next level w/ all the added playfulness. Mainly all mountain riding w/ the occasional lap in the park. I want this to be a great 'all around/daily driver board' for adding those next skills. Which one is the right choice? HEEELLLPPP lol

Main difference being that the Huck Knife is a true twin and the Aeronaut is set back slightly making it directional. If you tend to ride switch a fair amount, Huck Knife will be perfect, Aeronaut will have the same pop and stability in landings but be more versatile in the sense that it can lay down some carves or jump into trees/pow easily.

    Hello, very beginner looking to add versatility as I feel my 78 rossi experiences hold me back in deeper west voast snow sometimes. Have been looking at the fisher line in mid 90s. Thoughts if my biggest issue is initiating turns?

      Do you have issues initiating a turn on those experience 78's?

      @TheSkiMonster sometimes... I feel like they hold me back in deeper snow or choppy ungroomed trail. I also feel unstable going faster or down steeper slopes but that may be just my inexperience or poor form. I am basically teaching myself

      @@EquineLove getting some more waist width and a stronger construction will help with a lot of those issues. Ranger 96 is a great option and you will feel improvement in those areas, pretty night and day honestly

    With the amount of rocker, how would you suggest to size this ski? I live in CO

      They run pretty true to size. If you send an email to support@theskimonster.com we can give you more detailed help.

    For what its worth a good bootfiter can make a boot softer wheres its very hard if not impossible to make one stiffer

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster 2 месяца назад

      Yes. For most noticeable difference you would be swapping out the cuff softer or stiffer, that is really the only way to make the boot stiffer. The bolt being added in back just makes the boot feel more direct. It doesn’t do all that marketing says.

    How does this impact snowboards with 3D shaping like Jones? Additionally, when I find the edges of my base getting fuzzy super shortly after a hot iron wax, is it time for a grind? Seems like its not holding wax as well, but im not sure. Great work Bradio!

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster 2 месяца назад

      The short answer is just do your best by hand on 3D contour bases. Get the flat parts flat and then grind the non flat parts by hand. Jones recommends a rolling technique over the belt and they recommend waxing everything as well. Wax gets drawn out of the base faster when snow is colder or manmade. Wax could be gone in half a day to three days depending. When in doubt wax more you can’t overwax. If things are really fuzzy and slow(aka base burn) then yes you want a grind. Wax can hide it until your next grind, maybe every 8-12 days getting a grind depending on snow quality.

    Enjoyed the video. Over the course of a skis life, how many stone grinds can you do? Are there certain skis or manufacturers that you can stone grind more? Thanks

    • @TheSkiMonster
      @TheSkiMonster 2 месяца назад

      Not every ski goes in the machine and gets the same amount of passes and with the same amount of pressure applied to the skis - the tech assesses what round 1 will be (airing on less passes to not grind away unnecessary material). Wider skis warp more and take more passes to be ground to flat, basically narrower skis could take more tunes because each tune requires less passes to get the skis flat. This is honestly what makes tuning snowboards so challenging because they are so wide. Should also note just because a ski is new doesn’t mean it’s flat out of the wrap. This is why brands can be adamant about skis being tuned before a ski magazine test. Long story short it depends. Skis are made of wood and we’re bending them, tipping them on edge. The harder it’s skied the faster it can come out of flat. A ski base is 1.6 - 2 mm thick. Average dressing depth of a stone is .03 - .05 mm. It’s not necessarily taking away .03 mm on each pass.

    Hi. I am 5'8 and I got my hands on a pair of Enforcer 99 179cm. I had a good deal on them but I am worried they might be too long for me. Do you think I could manage the length or I might be better off selling them?

      Correct, the Passport does have taper. The Antidote on the right in the video is a directional twin board - no taper from tip to tail but with a slightly setback stance.

    I own a Mega Mercury and a Deepfake. This is very accurate comparison overall. Deepfake for charging especially though crud and chopped up powder days. Mercury for explosive pop on side hits and rollers all over the mountain. You can’t go wrong with either board.

    what about the Enforcer vs the Qst? In fact I'd be really fascinated to hear about the Nordica Enforcer 104 Unlimited vs the Salonon QST 106 Echo. Both super versatile and light enough for touring. ..in fact the Enforcer Unlimited is ssurprisingly light, and even lighter then the QST Echo, whereas if you compare the Enforcer Free 104 to the QST 106 the Nordica is heavier...so however they did it, Nordica managed to shave off a lot more weight in the "touring version"

    What size of gril master would you recommend for me? I am advanced rider looking for a board for chill days. No park just cruising with family. I have also capita megadeath 162 for bombing the groomers and burton hth 160w. I am 100kg, 184 cm, us 11.5. I am considering 160 or 165. What should I choose? Thanks!

      Go with the 160! If you’re just cruising that will be plenty stable without feeling cumbersome. Awesome board choices!
