I'm really considering picking up the excavator board on sale from my local shop right now. they only have a 150 left. I'm 5'8 155lbs size 9.5 boot and medium size bindings. I'm concerned about the taper in the tail, will there be toe/heel drag? My other boards are twin and directional at 157/158. Would the 150 too short/small?
thanks
Awesome choice! We love the Excavator and because of its volume shifted design (shorter and wider) you can totally get away with the 150 and your boot size. Go for it!
Will you recommend Excavator as a board for Going on piste ? I mean for groomer or even some lazy cruisin with friends. The board for the guy who loves to ride, loves to carve but hate going to the park and is to old for that 😂
Looking for my board for that kind of d of activity. Like 90% groomer and from time to time some nice offpiste.
@@michalbrzezinski2958 Definitely! The camber profile will grip plenty well on firmer groomers and has plenty of power when you need it. That being said, it isn’t an overly demanding board and will still be a ton of fun when you’re just cruising or jump off trail occasionally.
I just purchased the excavator in a 158. For the last few seasons i have been riding a all mountain board in a 163w size. Im a little worried the 158 will be too small for me. Im a bigger guy at 6'3" tall and 205lbs. Any thoughts on if i made the right decision on sizing down as recommended for the volume shifted board?
158 is going to be perfect! With a board like the Excavator sizing down a handful of centimeters is totally fine because you’re adding a decent amount of width. You’ll be in great shape on the 158, enjoy it!
Excavator 158 for 84kg and 182cm 42,5 shoe mainly carving and pow whenever i can ??? Or 154?
I'm 5'10 76kg 44 shoe and ride the 158 and is forgiving great edge hold on hard park and loves carving. I prefer the 158 for the extra width for leaning the board over for some laid out carving. Hope this helps.
