Saw Rick James on Mud Island in Memphis, Tn. back in the day. And believe me, he turned it out. Smoked marijuana right there on the stage and got away with it. Helluva show with the Mary Janes Girls included!!!!

People really did sing and play instruments. i.e. Brittney spears and many can't sing, let alone live. I like to go to concerts where they sound like their orginial songs. But last time I checked, Prince's voice sours above his in terms of range...

It would have been such a creative development in this genre and would probably have prevented them from playing their more distorted stuff. (and from sleeping with so many many many women)

Great voice, better than some of the singers that had longevity. If Rick didn't harm himself w/drugs, I believe he would still be singing great music. Great entertainer. Prince has had some good songs, but I love Rick, he's more funkier.
