2022 in Okanagan was moderate in heat and rainfall but the season lasted long into the fall. So certain winemakers had the choice to let the fruit hang longer. The smoke in 2021 didn't affect all areas only around Okanagan Falls. And 2024 was severely effected by winter temperatures killing vines, there wasn't any fires burning vineyards
fun fact from winemaker : even if you made 3 different wines from the same vineyard that were harvested at three different times, you would still get radically different wines. more focus on what type of stones and which prehistoric sedementation surround vineyards are, less interested I get as it gets more about marketing and less about actual terroir which is never a single component😅
