    I’ve read that it is better for the drives to be always running, in that startup/shutdown events shorten their lifespan. But I’ve seen no data

      Yeah, I've read that as well. Just wanted to present things from a power saving perspective.

      Yeah, I just wanted to show a couple of ways you could send the wake-on-lan magic packet to start up a Synology NAS.

      @@digital_aloha No, i mean "shutdown the NAS" at 0:47 which is a "Startup".

      You'll need to find an SSH application to run the command from. If you are using MacOS you can use the terminal application. If you use Windows then you can use an application like Putty or use the command prompt. Hope this helps?
