Mickey is a badass in the bass, just listen the Villains album. And i agree, the actual formation is the best with Jon Theodore in the drums (fucking beast)
I love how mean and guttural the instrumental is (especially with Dave on the drums) while Josh's vocals are so soft and smooth. Easily one of their best tracks by far!
They need to do some type of Queensfest and pick songs off of each album and have the guys that played on those albums play those songs. That would be sweet...

This is my fav lineup because the sum of all the players seems to be this monstrous beast none of them can seem to tame. Everytime I have seen qotsa, Josh seems to have reigned the beast in to do his bidding. With Grohl on drums and Oliveri on Bass and Troy..its just madness and awesome

You realise dave grohl is just everywhere right? Nirvana, QOTSA, Foo Fighters, Tenacious D, the list goes on, he was once in the top 100 triple J list for the year (australian music poll), and he was in 13 of the top 100 songs.
I remember watching this video in like the mid 2000's before RUclips existed, I downloaded it off of Napster or limewire back in those days. I wish there was a recording of this entire live show, it was probably incredible.

the moment at 1:46 is indeed special as an amateur musician I can *EASILY* say that there is something about playing live/rehararsing that you just can feel connecting with your bandmates and you just communicate through very subtle mimics, faces, gestures, emphasis on certain notes, HELL even with the notes you play and when you feel like your bandmates just *KNOW* what you are doing and going to do you just become this hive-mind like thingy and work as one and you just cannot even remotely get this feeling if you didn't play with a band irl, hell you can't do this even if you play with a band and you don't like the people you are playing with, I hope everyone playing gutiar can get a taste of this
like look at josh there the way he dances around is like *"keep the riff going man just watch the way I emphasis, here I will play it towards you so you can see what I'm doing"*
