Great Video! I had a BRHE Wireless Switch Pro Controller and for the life of me I could not get the buttons a b c d to work they are not listed in the as anything in Bottacera but thanks to this Video the ICONS are the same! this old ghetto controller is now working. I ordered the Kinhank 2Tb Retro gaming hdd. It arrived with the controllers completely mapped INCORRECTLY.
Up=A
A= Select
Down= L3
And so on.
This video lead me to using the keyboard to navigate to the menu and remapping both controllers correctly! This is my first Batocera and kinhank experience. You videos are leading me to believe that I can build a better Retro HDD than whats available on Amazon. Thank you for being a gamer/RUclipsr... and cool enough to help people with these kind of problems.

Hi, I have an xbox controller as my main controller, works fine. When I plug in another xbox controller for two player games it recognises it as i can navigate Batocera, but in games its not available as a second pad for another person to use, ie in fighting games. Tried all sorts. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you .

I’m using a Xbox 260 controller and everything is works, except the hot key select combo. I can’t find anything that will allow me to exit the game.
I have a gaming desktop in my custom arcade cabinet running Batocera. I want to be able to map either each individual game or each individual emulator. I've looked everywhere and I can't find that setting. How do I do that? .... The map of you just did I'm assuming is a one mapping that works for everything overall right?

Hi I know this video is pretty old now, but I have a problem with my xbox/ ps5 controller. I want to add multiple controllers and everything works fine in the menu but once I enter a game the second controller won't work anymore. I would definitely appreciate help for that. :)
I have the 8bitdo pro 2 for xbox and the sn30 pro. No problems with the sn30 pro but every time i plug in the pro 2 for xbox batocera does not detect the controller. I know the controller is working because the led is lit up. The controller doesn't seem to work on batocera specifically but windows/steam games work with the controller just fine.

Dude thank you so much for showing me how to map the debug menu to leave games. I kept trying to map it to the back of the paddles and they didn’t work.
I do have one question, how tondo save my game files in Wii-U games. The menu is running a different dial screen format and I can’t find the menus anywhere to save in the steam deck :(
Question. I’m using the same controller you have ie. Xbox 360. On the right analog stick on just about any game or system the right analog is backwards.
If I go left on screen character goes right. If I go right they go left. Up is down and down is up. The y axis in some games I can invert and it will fix but x axis is always backwards.
Do you have any suggestions for this. I’m running batocera 36.

I'm having trouble with an Xbox series controller, when mapping the R2 it stays pressed, It reads it as axis and not as button in pcsx2
I don’t understand why when it asked for A and you hit B then it ask for B and you hit A and so on. Could you please explain why you don’t just press the proper letter it asks for? Seems kind of confusing.
What computer system are you using? Is it a mini pc?

I have a problem, do you know why when I play with the duckstation emulator my controls are misconfigured? I play with an xbox 360 controller and when I play with that emulator on the batocera the triggers stop working and their functionality goes to the select and start button, and the select and start goes to L3 and R3, that's weird. I've tried to modify that but I couldn't
Here sometimes when i play seems that the UP Button is locked, i need to restart the batocera to normalize.

I have a bluetooth connection issue on Batocera when trying to use it on my Steam Deck. I'm using a series X controller and when trying to connect I get a long list saying "connected", "disconnected", 20-30 times or more. Has anyone else had that issue? I can only use the controller when wired to my steam deck...

It just keeps jumping back up to start whenever I press it
May be a compatibility issue. Sometimes you need to get a non Microsoft specific Xbox controller. The Power A ones work really well with Batocera. I think Batocera struggles with the Microsoft official branded ones sometimes.

(the same one in your thumbnail and the one in the pic in the beginning of your video, not the one you are using in the video)
I struggled a bit to get it to pair but then it paired fine (rpi 4 2gb)
but when I first tried to map it none of the buttons would map unless I held then down for like 3 seconds , then I tried again and they were mapping at the touch like normal
but once I get down to try and select (and I try to map it like you are using same buttons for start and select) , I press select and then it goes back up highlighting start and it still says not mapped next to select
,i tried usinf R3 for select but then when I get to R3 I out of buttons ,I can't use R3 again because it says taken , and then have to use the dpad od the left analog stick to move down and then it remaps the dpad down or left analog down at R3
and I have to start over again because it's all fucked up and there is not way to get it mapped right, when I look this controller with Batocera I get no information at all except this video and a couple posts saying the controller can not be paired or it can not be paired without a dongle
but I have it paired I just can't get it mapped right ,
How the heck do you know does what in a game? I gave up quit with RetroPi years ago. Some games, I would have to reboot to get out of. Never could figure out what does what. Using a xbox controller. maybe that's not the right one to have, IDK.
Please help!!! I paired my xbox elite 2 controller through blutooth and didnt like it connected through blutooth. I connected the controller through a USB cable and nothing happens but batocera says its connected. I “forgot” the device through the menus and it still dosent repsond. Is there something Im doing wrong? Thanks!
I'm not sure. Bluetooth controllers on batocera can be tough for that reason. The forget controller feature isn't very reliable. It often times doesn't work with some controllers.
I have the exact same Power A controller, but for some reason, in Batocera when prompted to hold any button to begin mapping, nothing. I know the controller works hell, I just wrapped up a 2-hour session. Anyone have any idea why? or suggestions.

@@sibewolf5576 I found a work around, I constantly press the A button while Batocera is booting up. When I see the controller manipulate the screen, I hold down a button and complete the setup process. It usually works, but TBH it's just more convenient to use a wireless controller.
Mine recognises the controller but when it comes down to configure the bottoms it won’t work. I keep pressing buttons but for some reason doesn’t work, has anybody got the same issue?
Is it an original Xbox controller (official)? I have heard some Xbox one controllers are issues with Batocera. I actually use a Power A Xbox controller which I find works flawlessly.
I have the same issue using Xbox controler but not oficial is a brand name"krom pad" he recognises but not working ,i try make a new batocera image and try again he work,but when i try to mapping for some reason has a mess só i use a keyboard to return main menu to mapping again the controller ,the controller stop working again ,so i try recreate a new image again from batocera and the controller not working again idk why does This on 2 time i recreate the imagem he works ,i Guess is some issue with batocera build i AM using r34 lãs build i Gonna try build r33 maybe it works better

Hi new to batocera. How do you know which one is player 1 and which one is player 2 on the controller screen. Is input 1 player 1 ?

I just bought the same controller as you and the middle button (Xbox "Share" button) is not being detected in Batocera. Is my controller broken or is it a problem with Batocera?
I didn't use the middle x for anything so I'm not even sure but it makes sense that it wouldn't as its function within Xbox is the home button. It isn't programmable in gameplay. Batocera will only recognize those functional buttons for mapping.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan I wanted to use it as the Hotkey button instead of having to press Select+Start... Hotkey is kinda similar to a Home button. There must be a signal for this button otherwise it would not be usable. I think Batocera should support these extra buttons because they are useful for stuff like Hotkey, save states, etc.

How do you change controller settings in different emulators
In most cases you can do so in retroarch. I haven't done this in batocera myself though. Only within dolphin for GameCube.

Wifi almost never works
I'd have to disagree I don't find it to be problematic at all. It's pretty self explanatory but some need a little help if they haven't done it before with any emulation platforms or emulators. Wifi was a pain the first 10 minutes but once it made connection I never had it crap out on my end. I've been using my current setup for 9 months and it's been consistent.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan yeah I see you are using a PC I think the issue is related to the raspberry pi 4 I am using or maybe it is just the NESpi 4 case ,this thing is driving me nuts
I went out and bought an official raspberry pi 4 power supply thinking it might be the problem after I exhausted all other possibilities and it seemed to work for a few days but now it is back to not connecting again, no matter where I move it or how many times I reboot it it will not connect anymore
I shielded the USB to SATA adapter with heavy duty in foil ,got official power supply and it still is not connecting on 9 of 10 boots maybe 1 in 100 times it will work
it has worked before it just decides to not work most of the time and I have no idea why
everything is configured right it just sucks
and I tried removing the top of the case and that don't work either , maybe I should just give up and go with retropie or recall box
