      Anzzz My hair is fine and, I guess 2A? It’s very “s” shaped waves that look like a bad ‘80s perm which has grown out! This method gave me real curls/clumps and definition. I struggle with second day hair, but this held up pretty well. Good luck

    Please do NOT use this brush to detangle. To style your curls, yes. Detangling, no. But dang the results are amazing! I died at the Shirley Temple song

    • @Alaskaxox
      @Alaskaxox 5 лет назад +3

      Why shouldn't it be used to detangle?

    • @AdoraBrenn
      @AdoraBrenn 5 лет назад +18

      @@Alaskaxox It is a very harsh brush to detangle with. You want to be VERY gentle while detangling your hair, the Wet Brush is the best. Only use the Denman once your hair is brushed through, or it can damage your curls.

    • @livismith5007
      @livismith5007 5 лет назад +2

      elkfairy yes the brush has a smoothing and clumping effect, too harsh for detangling. Works best to style curls after you detangle the curls with a comb or something. I used to use this alot before I found that it caused a ton of my breakage

    • @kaylapears2081
      @kaylapears2081 5 лет назад +5

      It is a very good brush to detangle Afro hair. So please be specific because you could be misleading people

    • @livismith5007
      @livismith5007 5 лет назад +3

      Kay Karma if it works for you great. Alot of people (ranging from types 2-4) have experienced tons of breakage from it. It works better for clumping and smoothing curls for most people. I'd rather have people be safe than sorry. People should try other brushes for detangling before trying this one, just to be safe. Sorry if I made you feel offended

      Ammara Shaheen I try to curl away from my face as much as possible when I train because I think it “opens up” my face. When I curl towards my face they tend to overtake the perimeter of my face haha. I also use a strong-holding gels to really seal them in. I like to think that maybe helps for future washes

      I agree Ammara - my curls go both ways and I never know which way to make them go either!

      Johanna Cheryl ooh I’ll try that, I feel like naturally my curls are towards my face and I feel like they crowd my face too!

      I'm the same way. Half of my curls go away, and half towards my face.

    ik i’m really late but how do your ringlets end up so tight after diffusing?idk how else to explain it sorry if that sounds weird.

    Is your hair naturally curly or straight?have u just managed to refine your curls or did you create curls (as your hair isn’t curly) ?
    I’m confused.
    I have wavy hair but would love curls. So not sure if this video applies to me :)

      London Libertarian in the curly girl method wavy hair IS considered a type of curly hair. When you treat your wavy hair following CGM it will usually help define your waves and curls. She technically has 2b/c wavy hair (look up curl types) but she’s “training” her hair to curl better. I also have wavy hair but will get actual ringlets occasionally which is how you know your hair can be trained. Most wavies eventually find out their hair is mite curly than they thought after months to years of following CGM.

    Question: so I tried this, but maybe I did too small of sections. Did you have any product in before starting? Thank you

      I didn’t but I do think having larger sections helped out a ton
