- In this week's video, my seester and I are comparing our styling results from NEW CURLY HAIR PRODUCTS from Curlsmith and a NEW APPLICATION TECHNIQUE using the Denman brush. My seester and I both have very different curl types, so this video we will show you our wash and go routine and how to define curls with the Denman brush on both my 3b and 3c curls and Amanda's 2c 3b curls.

The balm and souffle is great for 2b/2c fine hair. These are my favorite products and thats my hair type.
I need this, too. But I would like to see someone who has a combination of 2a,b, and c on their head who has fine and thin hair.
I used the soufflé on my 2B/2C and it was horrible... :/ maybe I wasn’t doing it properly?! Looks amazing on Mell and Amanda 😭
I have never tried Curl Smith. I do love Aveda Be Curly, Jessicurl Rockin Ringlets and Spiralicious Gel & NYM Naturals Defining Cream. I really need a good mousse & my hair is easily weighed down. My hair is typically too soft to get any volume it's sad :( I wear my hair either in clumps which I love or I can use different techniques I can make it look very beachy. I can get defined results but I can't get any volume when I do this. I get the most volume when I go for messy beachy. I think I need more protein because my hair goes limp pretty quick but I don't have any extra money to buy a protein treatment I have done 3 DIY gelatin treatments but I don't think they worked :/ Any tips would be appreciated! Also I have a big question for all Curlies what was the first 3 questions you had when starting your Curly Journey

I have your sister's curl type and I love the fact you bring her up in your videos since you help more people with different curl types. You should do a comparison of your favorite products or switching your hair routines 😁🙌🏽

I've been using a Denman brush since the late 70s, when I still had stick straight hair. It was the best for the Farrah flip! Nice to see I can use it in my curls! I'm 52 and decided it's time to stop fighting the wave/curls that showed up about 30 years ago. Thanks!
I can't get enough of your clips. It took me 50 years to learn to accept and love my curls, my hair is awesome and I am free of the blow/ straight burn hair..... I love you both girls

I am so happy that you bring your sister in these videos. I have hair a lot like hers and I'm one of two in my family with curls. I have learned so much about caring for my curls from just two of your videos! It has been a 12 year journey for me to finally love my curls. After years of chemically straightening it and doing so much damage I am really trying to find the best ways to work with what I have. So happy about these videos!

Thanks to you Mell I have stopped putting nasty chemicals on my head (one year sober off 10 years of Brazilian Blowouts which wrecked my curl pattern) and am learning to love what the Lord hath provided on my head. I love you ladies. I started watching you a couple of months ago and have gone through all of your videos. I have learned a lot. My mom, sister and I all have curly hair, different lengths, different textures, different curl pattern, and different lengths. I have 3b/c hair but think like your sister's. My hair also has some damage but not too horrible, but it doesn't bounce back a lot with the brush. I just tried the olaplex but I don't know if i left it in too long because my hair felt super stiff and no matter how much conditioning product I used, I couldn't get the brush to glide through my crown. I'm still working on repairing so hopefully after a few months of not straightening, it'll get better. Thank you Mell for all of your tips. 😁😍

So glad I found your videos! I have the same curl type as your gorgeous sister but I’ve flat ironed my hair into oblivion (it was the 90s, what can I say 🤷🏻♀️) and now I’m growing out a pixie. 🤦🏻♀️ I would love to see a video series on rehabbing flat ironed hair back into amazing curls. I’m finding it’s not an easy feat & would love to see what a professional would do. Keep up the awesome videos! 😄

So I'm learning how to find the right products and after seeing your videos for the first time has taught me A LOT of everything I've been doing WRONG! I Google what my hair type is (did not understand when you mentioned it and was curious what the heck you were referring to) so I have thin hair and seems to be as 2C, 3A curl. Would love to get some more products ideas that may work for having that define, volume, no frizz curl. Thanks, also so happy I stumble into your channel. 😊

I've always thought that brushing curly hair wasn't a good idea. But I guess you also have to have the right brush. Just got my Denman brush. I will try this!

Michelle Arnold I have same hair type. It is very soft and fine but thick. I LOVE the Denman brush. It has changed the entire way I do my hair and I don’t have any strange parts or “bald” spots in the back that I have always had when hair freshly washed. You should try it!!
I recommend the Denman with wide spaced bristles. I have the same texture, and I get better clumps with that one vs. the regular spaced Denman.
Yes, I have fine 3c hair & use a 5-row denman instead of the 7! You can also remove rows and customize it for your needs!

You said that if your hair looks good when it wet, it will look good when it’s dry, but for some reason my hair likes to look good (curly/wavy) when it’s wet and then not good when it’s dry (half of it falls out) 😭 I know it’d be hard to address this problem for me specifically since you know nothing about my hair or my routine, but maybe you could do a video on some common reasons this may happen? Or just give me some suggestions 😂 love your videos, especially the sister ones, you two are great! ❤️

I'm so happy to hear this! I just invested in the curlsmith line (from watching this video) after using deva for 1.5 years and ended up with protein overload causing split ends and single strand knots galore! I'm excited to try this line!

Amanda is stunning. I couldn’t take my eyes off her 👀 I have a combination or Mell and Amanda’s hair, but I can never get curls or volume at the root and about 3 inches down 😟

I've been watching your videos literally all day long. I have curls like amanda, almost exactly the same. I was getting my hair chemically straightened for 15 years but stopped about 5 years ago and since then I've been trying to find the perfect combo of products and have yet to find them. So I've been trying to get all the tips I can from you. I just bought the olaplex 3 and am about to do that tonight and see how much of a difference that'll make...fingers crossed
