I LOVED that you showed your trial and error curls at the beginning before getting it!!! This is genuinely The BEST tutorial on the denman brush curl method I've seen yet and it wasn't even really meant as a tutorial 💚💚💚
The curl around the handle technique really helped me when I was first transitioning my hair from heat damage. My curls were not uniform and it really helped me train them to spiral like the used to when I was little. Now I use it to help distribute product and help my curls separate. I would die without that brush!
I didn't have a heat damage but the denman brush really helped train my crown area, my hair is weird on that part, it was practically straight, and very frizzy, while my underneath curls are 3b, I used the brush for a while and I don't need to use it anymore, the curls curl on their own 😄 well, waves, but better than straight 😁 I don't think it would be possible without the denman brush
I love that we got to learn it with you! I’ve watched like 100 different videos where they’ve obviously done it a ton so they don’t really show you that there’s a certain way to hold the brush or anything. Thank you!
I FINALLY gave into sectioning - and styling with the denman brush - a few months ago. As someone who struggles with curl definition and frizz control, it's been an absolute game changer! I haven't tried the handle technique due to how long it takes, but now might have to! Love seeing you give it another shot!! ❤️
If you struggle with curl definition and frizz then the Denman brush styling can be quite the game changer. I can see how that would work well for folks with that struggle.
I can only use a Denman brush for my desired look. I have multiple textures but most of my hair consists of coils. I use this brush to elongate and define in the coily parts and define then scrunch on the the looser parts. Love it!!
Makes a massive difference how you release the brush. Better curl when you pull it straight down and it slides easily from the handle. Absolutely gorgeous hair.
I just did the experiment of wrapping my hair around the handle, and it doesn't look that much different than the simpler way I brush it. My hair is much shorter hair than Bianca's. Because the handle method is time consuming, I'll stick to her method 2 of pulling it through with the natural curvature of the brush. Before using the brush, I've applied the curl cream, then after that I scrunch in the gel. Today I'll try her method of adding the gel before using the brush. Afterwards I sit with and ordinary fan a few feet away at head level. It really cuts down on air drying time. My hair is fairly short, so it's probably more effective than it would be for longer hair. I love the brush method. Once you get used to it, it goes fast. I've been very pleased with the results.
The denman brush gives me super defined curls and they last for days the only reason I tend not to use it is that us gives me SUPER shrinkage, I think it makes my curls look 80% shorter when I style with the denman brush!
100% same experience for styling my kiddo with very thick 4a curls. However she does love when I use it as a last step for detangling - it’s the only brush with stiff/long enough bristles to get through her whole head of hair down to her scalp & it feels great.
Lol I think you may have convinced me to pull my Denman brush out again to try these ringlets! Honestly I also have no patience to section my hair either 🤣
Yay i was right when i guessed the denman brush! I love that you showed the whole process of you figuring out how to use it! But daaang those curls look AMAZING!
I love how you showed the trial and error in the beginning as when most first start trying and we mess up it can be discouraging! cant wait to try this out!😊
Never used the denman brush but I love to style my curly hair with my tangle teaser it has totally changed my hair and I can see a huge difference in how long I can make the style vs. just using my hands. I use the brush technique from manes by Mel and she has legit changed my hair life
I have used the denman brush before, I didn’t really like it. I do use the tangle teezer (the purple one) to detangle & style my hair! I love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We are exactly the same trying to learn how to do this crazy brush styling 😂 everyone makes it look so easy! I’m a maybe 1 in 5 attempts actually work out. Sometimes they show up as a nice little surprise after I dry! Pieces I thought totally flopped end up a little ringlet 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for showing a real attempt ❤ always love seeing you drop a video!
Oh wow I’ve never seen anyone use the Denman like this but it looks incredible! I’m convinced, I’ll start sectioning my hair, your results are so worth it.
My kiddo’s hair is SO THICK, I use a denman as my last step of detangling to get all the way through her whole head of hair, where the Be Hairful can’t cut it. She loves how it feels on her scalp to brush her whole head all together. That said, when we try to style her curls with the denman it’s a one way trip to shrinkage town!
Seems like you could do the ringlets with any brush with a slick handle, not just the denman. But it's cute af! I have a denman, but it comes apart too easily when I use it, because of the thickness of my hair so it's rarely used because it's frustrating! I wish I had the ability to define my curls, but my physical disabilities just make hair time very limited for me.
While I brush style my coils, I use the Pattern detangling brush, with looks exactly like a Denman but has much more flex so I detangle with it too. My hair is STUNNINGLY defined each time, and it’s great for refreshes.
I LOVE the definition I get with a Denman brush. Important to use a gel with lots of slip like Curlsmith Hydro Style Flex Jelly so I’m going to check out the Matrix gel. Then top with a glaze of level 10 gel.
I use a wide tooth comb with a leave in conditioner to detangle and then I use the brush with a curl defining gel to cover each strand. I could never detangle with this brush lol I am dealing with hair loss and the brush definitely adds volume and definition when brushing it away from your scalp then diffusing. I definitely section. I feel like that’s key!
That Behairful brush you recommended years ago is my ultimate detangling brush, next my wide tooth comb! I used it on my 9 year old sis and she couldn’t believe how her hair turned out after. My mom just brush and sleek her hair so yeah huge difference!
Ok, I’ve never been very good at doing my hair - so your (very) relatable struggle w sectioning and using the brush, and then finding the groove w the amazing results, definitely gives me hope! You were also just hilarious and seriously reminded me of me, and how I talk to myself when trying to do my hair, fails, successes and all! Well done, and thanks for sharing!
This is exactly how I style my hair with the Denman brush. My curls are no where near as curly as yours but I still get spiral curls and I break each spiral up the same way you did. I don’t always do it this way but it’s fun as an alternative.
I’ve always used the Denman for styling (blow dryer) before I went natural. Just got another in the September Curlbox. I really want the paddle brush as hair is growing longer.
I use the denman brush to distribute my creams, but for definition I use Scrunch IT brush where the handle is round and helps my low density curls specially my bangs
I have never used a denman brush but I use brushes to clump my curls together so that I don’t have to do as much work to get my hair to absorb water and product. I then come out the clumps with my fingers. 😂 your reaction to the ringlets is great. Your inner child was showing.
Did you know that you can remove rows of teeth in the Denman brush? I removed 2 rows in mine, and love it more for detangling and styling my thick curly hair.
I would love to see you style your hair with the Denman brush technique as shown by Manes by Mel. I think it will be quicker, not need as much separating, and give you nice volume with little to no frizz!
I use a brush or a wide tooth comb after I put in my creams. It’s wet and has my creams in it but I don’t section out and use it that way I just comb or brush for even coating of all 🤣
I know that took FOREVER to do (based on your normal routine). Thanks for the sacrifice 😂. I still have my Denman brush but haven’t used it in awhile. I might give this a try as well as the Matrix products.
Your curls look beautiful ! Glad to see you gave the Demman another chance. I received another Denman brush in my September CurBox, will try it again too! 😄
I do this when doing my son's coils let me tell u that puts the shape & u can literally go behind the curl twirling between ur fingers and it'll hold. It is a game changer!
Interesting!! Ringlets aren't my style but i love all the different ways this brush can work. It definitely makes a huge difference when i use the denman brush to style my curls.
I love the results ❤❤❤❤!!! I will say that when I did my big chop in 2019 it was easier to use as a detangling & styling brush, but now that it’s longer, I use the flexi brush and style with the denman brush
My mom and I found that curling technique on tik tok a few weeks ago and have been using it! She has wavy hair and I have a tighter curl pattern but we both absolutely love it!
The definition it’s crazy!!! I still like your curls without the brush better, and you know we love that volume!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🔥🔥 But the “curly dreadlocks” looked super cool though. I think you could pull a cool hair style with them
I have a Denman brush sitting in a drawer, but I haven't used it in a year. Your regular routine is kinda similar to mine as we have similar curl patterns, but I have no time to diffuse, although I have the Dyson hair dryer. Finger combing is my friend to distribute the product as my hair is shoulder length, and any brush I use shrinks my hair. It's funny because I have been able to obtain curls like that without a brush in certain parts of my head, but those ringlets for me cause the most tangles the next day.
I’m a huge fan of when my curls get ringlet-y. Still trying to learn to use the denman brush and I’ve loved when I’ve used it and what it adds to my curls but only use it as a styling brush (use a separate brush in my shower for detangling or finger detangle dependent on how much maintenance my hair needs). However, I had never seen the handle used before so I think I’ll be giving this a try 🤔 thank you for sharing Bianca!!! ❤
That’s too much for me. I quit the denman brush long ago. Also quit on tangle teezer and some other silly brush I bought. But my daughter does use a brush to get those special spiral curls. It works lovely on those who don’t get that much shrinkage. Great video 😊
I have also struggled with the Denman brush and agree that it's not a good detangling brush. I haven't tried the handle method, though and might have to give it a try.
My coils eats the Denman brush alive 🤣 and I love that because I have definition without even having to try! But this was still a great try! Love your results and transparency! 🤩 It looks like my hair when I shingle!
That was some insane definition!!! My hair is much thinner and shorter, so I can use my Denman to detangle, and I keep it in my travel bag to use when I visit my Mama. I've never tried making ringlets like that though! I think I will next time. Thanks for the demo!
Not a denman brush fan. I prefer to style and define with the handled wet brush… maybe try it 🤷🏽♀️ but can’t wait to try matrix products. I have not tried them yet!
Your curls are gorgeous! Love this video and would like a review on the blow dryer. I have super naturally curly ringlets, but I love my Denman brush and will try this technique.
Oh my gosh!!! I love the ringlets! And I have to get the Matrix products and another brush. My last brush started to wave where the bristles were being held in place. Thank you for this video!!
Goody makes a version of this. With a white handle. Using it since 1980. My hair isn't curly. Major waves. Curly when it's short. Thick. Given to frizz. Live this brush. The bristles feel great on the scalp.
Out of all the videos I watched I LOVED LOVED yours the most. Your experience was so similar to mine. Denman struggles are real, I liked that you showed that and then just kept going until you got it. This gives me the courage to give it another try
💖 Beautiful results Mrs.Bianca! Thank you for sharing those transparent moments throughout this video lol😂❤️ I’ve been thinking about revisiting “brush styling” myself so this video is right on time!😊 God Bless you & your family🙏🏾✨
I use the Denman in the first two ways you showed, but not with the handle... in this video, I kept picturing having to get scissors to cut the brush out if it gets stuck! (It's worth mentioning that the handle can be pulled apart from the brush, if that happens to someone!) The longer, thicker, & healthier my hair has gotten, the more I've had to section... I do it by taking vertical slices with my finger & then dividing each slice into 2 or 3 top to bottom sections. B, your natural curls are gorgee just as they are, but you look beautiful here too, as always. Haha, I've missed hearing if sth has slip!!! 😂➰➰➰ xo 😘
I've known people to take every other bristle row out to avoid that situation or how many ever bristles they hair type needs taken out like when you pull the part out the handle it might help from getting it stuck in your hair that's just a possible suggestion if you ever want to give another try🧡
@@HuntressYalena Yes, the rows of bristles can also be varied. I use the 9-row bc I like that it creates smaller, 'piecier' clumps & volume, & then I don't have to separate bigger ringlets later. Even with the Denman, my curls naturally want to re-clump! 😂Fortunately, I've never had to cut any tools out of my hair, but there was a recent Brad Mondo video where someone cut a comb out of their bangs that was crazy. Every time I see someone with lots of beautiful curly hair using the Denman handle like that, I worry that it will get stuck! B always says that her hair is fine (I say it's more like 'fineee😍') but she has more than enough to get stuck in that brush/handle! 😂 Phew! Thank goodness for that slip! 😅😂
@@pondeck yeah i have medium density sorta thick strands myself and i can tell you for sure my hair got stuck in one of those double sided combs 🙃 tis not fun but it was because my curls wrapped around it but i took my time and got it out without cutting and yes i watch his videos too 😆it amazes me at what happens to people
@@HuntressYalena 😂 I've had to cut out my fair share of tiny knots, though I do try to finger detangle them too... And then, when my sisters & I were little, there were a few 'chewing gum incidents' where my mom was like, "sigh... get the scissors..." 😂 xo 😘
@@pondeck ugh yes i know what you mean also always having to look for split ends i never trim my hair myself but i atleast cut split ends out as i see them to avoid so many knots because those can cause it too and finger detangling takes so long i dont like it but i know its healthy method 😂better than cutting all my hair
You can ones with less teeth for more coily curly hair. I need a denman for the shed hair after 1 week of not washing , it's a finishing touch after finger dangling when wet.
I have started to use the Denman brush again, however for my ends only. I never used it for detangling nor will I ever! It I ever do those section curls with the Deman brush, I would be bald. I have medium density type 4 (b/a/c in that order). Your hair is beautiful! Nice video
It’s wash day & my curls have been lacking definition. YT put this on my recommendations…they know what they’re doing LOL. I’m definitely going to try this!
Great Video ! 😊 and yes I definitely agree . Me and the Denman Brush got Beef too . We do NOT get along lol 😂 but also I am curious, Where did you get that Top you were wearing ? I love it 😍
😂 Ouch!!! Omg, I was so inspired to try this and in one small section of (damaged to begin with) hair, I got the hair wrapped into the brush and handle and had to step back into the shower and recondition that area to get the brush to even partially release. I WILL try it again, as it was user error, and I’m glad to see that you weren’t perfect to begin with. Thx for a great demo.
@Mara Diaz same with me. I watch these styling tutorials and I'm like I can do that. Then at go time I will try for a hour, throw my brush and give up. 🙃
I have 4a/ hair (and in some parts it's 4b ). I also have fine low porosity hair so heavy butters etc etc are a know go for me unless i want my hair to look like a drowned rat! 🤣 I use Cantu Shampoo/Conditioner, and ORS Curls Unleashed as my leave in conditioner after wash and then a little daily with the Cantu Pomade with some olive oil. I do have my Denman brush, but I only used it once on my hair and though it gave me more defined curls It felt like it was ripping my hair out, so I haven't used it since! I do use it on my kinky curly wigs to make the curls pop, but the density of the wig is thicker than my hair so it does look better, but there is still some sheading!
I LOVED that you showed your trial and error curls at the beginning before getting it!!! This is genuinely The BEST tutorial on the denman brush curl method I've seen yet and it wasn't even really meant as a tutorial 💚💚💚

Gurll, you have magic hands, I swear!! It's not the brush, it's you!! ❤️❤️
I am glad you gave it a chance. It is my go-to styling brush. Do NOT detangle with it. It is not meant for that. Your hair looks FAB!!!
Makes a massive difference how you release the brush. Better curl when you pull it straight down and it slides easily from the handle. Absolutely gorgeous hair.
Absolutely fabulous!!!!!!! I got just as excited about your Denman curls as you did!!!! So beautiful!!!! Thanks!!!

The denman brush gives me super defined curls and they last for days the only reason I tend not to use it is that us gives me SUPER shrinkage, I think it makes my curls look 80% shorter when I style with the denman brush!
That is what I experienced and that is also why I don’t use it. Way too tight. Way too short. And takes longer to use.
I like the behairfullbrush, but I agree about the Denman
100% same experience for styling my kiddo with very thick 4a curls. However she does love when I use it as a last step for detangling - it’s the only brush with stiff/long enough bristles to get through her whole head of hair down to her scalp & it feels great.
does it work on 4b hair also?

I thought I was the only one that peeped this. Lol
Oh wow I’ve never seen anyone use the Denman like this but it looks incredible! I’m convinced, I’ll start sectioning my hair, your results are so worth it.
Yes the Denman is more a styling brush then a detangling one. I have one for years but rarely use it because of the shrinkinge it causes.
Love this video! I appreciate your learning process with this brush and you taking us along your journey! Xo
My kiddo’s hair is SO THICK, I use a denman as my last step of detangling to get all the way through her whole head of hair, where the Be Hairful can’t cut it. She loves how it feels on her scalp to brush her whole head all together.

I love this technique.🥰 I'm gonna buy this kind of brush Asap
Out of all the videos I watched I LOVED LOVED yours the most. Your experience was so similar to mine. Denman struggles are real, I liked that you showed that and then just kept going until you got it. This gives me the courage to give it another try
Alright you convinced me to try my denman brush again. Thanks girl!
💖 Beautiful results Mrs.Bianca! Thank you for sharing those transparent moments throughout this video lol😂❤️ I’ve been thinking about revisiting “brush styling” myself so this video is right on time!😊 God Bless you & your family🙏🏾✨
Dang! That definition. 😍 Now I'm thinking I need to get my denman brush out and give it another try
Omgg I love it and can you do it again brushed out after you do the curls ?! I want bigger hair 😍
Yes never used the Denman to detangle after trying to buy it the first time. Those ringlets are so cute.
You can ones with less teeth for more coily curly hair. I need a denman for the shed hair after 1 week of not washing , it's a finishing touch after finger dangling when wet.
Beautiful results!! I’m too lazy in my routine to section lol but now I’m curious to see what my definition would be if I did this
This was originally the Goody brush in the 70’s and 80’s. I used it because I have very thick hair.
Thank you for showing the full learning process!!!! I’m always like, why am I the only one who isn’t a natural at these hacks 😂
@Mara Diaz same with me. I watch these styling tutorials and I'm like I can do that. Then at go time I will try for a hour, throw my brush and give up. 🙃
Love your hair it's absolutely gorgeous 😍
The ringlets are so beautiful!!! ❤️
Maybe I should try it again. I too got rid of
My denman brush but just got one this month in my curlbox. Maybe it is a sign to
Give it a second chance
Wow turned out great I feel like my hair is too thick for that method but love the turn out 🙌🏾
After separating the curls, you had a Cher in Moonstruck at the Opera vibe!
Beautiful results sis 😍
You make me laugh😂 the look of surprise when you saw the ringlet
I have 4a/ hair (and in some parts it's 4b ). I also have fine low porosity hair so heavy butters etc etc are a know go for me unless i want my hair to look like a drowned rat! 🤣
I use Cantu Shampoo/Conditioner, and ORS Curls Unleashed as my leave in conditioner after wash and then a little daily with the Cantu Pomade with some olive oil.
I hate the de am but I tried the tangle teezer for styling !!!! Yo i won’t ever do my hair without it. Would love to see you try it 😅
Ok, I will try the denman brush now. You got me sold girl. You're hair came out super gorgeous
