This was the first video of yours I watched just a few wks ago. I did get to try this process I just didn't have the brand of glitter vinyl you suggest. Hope to get some of that soon. It did still turn out although the glitter vinyl felt stiffer than I imagined. Wondering if the Siser brand is the same. Just curious. Either way it is definitely wearable and so glitzy. Great idea!

They came out so pretty..any tips for my machince always usally wating up my fabric i already changed the blade and still the same 😏
Hey Ayessa, this does happen every now and again. A few things you can do is check your mat stickiness. I use my pink fabric mat for faux leather cuts. I also use painters tape around the sides to keep the pull from the blade jamming the machine. You’ve mentioned you have already changed your blade so you’re all set there. Also, you can check you pressure of the blade before you hit the Cricut go button. Some softer faux leather can be tricky. Be sure it’s shiny side down. Make a double pass if it doesn’t cut all the way through. This is where it is completed and you load it back in and hit go. Let me know if you are able to get some cuts 🤗🌺. Lol this was 5 months post baby!! Was was not sleeping and so this was my way to decompress making earrings 🤩! I had many bloopers so it kept the hubby and I smiling 😂😂.

hey there! im making these as we speak however what are you doing to the sides? i used a white faux leather i didnt care for so i could cover it up but now i can see the white edges !! do i color it with sharpie. also, my maker did not cut through the clear film that covers the HTV and i used the same settings
Hey Crystal, be sure the glitter is shiny film side down. It needs to cut the glue matte side. You can always just glue two pieces of htv if the ones you made doesn’t look good to you. You can color the sides with a marker if you like. 👍That way you have the option to have faux leather or just htv double side glitter. Hope this helps my friend. 🤗🌻
I’m about to start making earrings with glitter faux leather. Can I use HTV on the glitter leather or will it look too bumpy?
Hey Ashlyn,
I would think with a solid HTV color it may come out bumpy. You might want to see if the back side of the faux leather is best for that solid color. If you are using a textured htv as I do with glitter then it will be fine. I would try it and see how it comes out. That way you can make adjustments as needed my friend🤩🤗.

This fabric is a bit tricky. I would get some Aleene’s fabric glue (on amazon or Joann’s)and do a double sided earring. Use the glue to adhere them and then that way the earring is a bit more durable for your hooks. 🤗. Let me know if this helps. Keep me posted.🌻

I purchased the same svg file, but it looks like the jump ring holes are smaller than your video shows. Did you enlarge them?
Hello Teisha, the holes do change sizes if you unlock the padlock icon and resize the earring. I tend to change up the H and W of each set of earrings I work with depending on what I am creating. So, yes the holes can change slightly in diameter 😀. Have a blessed day my friend.

Hello my sweet friend 🌻💖thank you so much. Honestly, with the choices you have it all depends on what you what your projects to be. If you want to have all materials available to cut go with the Maker and if you just need a small compact machine for small jobs with a cut or draw only get the Cricut Joy. Or right in the middle the air 2 is a get middle choice and it can send projects to your printer for a print cut option !! Only for the maker and air will you have this. I hope this helps! Did you use the standard blade for this or the deep cut blade?
You can use either my sweet friend. I usually use the fine point blade but if the faux leather is a chunky glitter I use it or the pink fabric blade. 🥰
I just tried making these earrings. I used purple faux leather and bubble gum pink htv. One side turned out pink and the other side a blue-ish color. Any suggestions? TIA

Abigail....I use the purple(strongest mat color) mat and cheap painters tape to hold mine down.....Mine never EVER works without tape!!! Period. Also, clean your blade after every cut...check it for debris. hope this helps you. Keep trying!! You will get it!!
@@abigailadams7819 just as Jessica mentioned I also use a strong grip Matt with tape and check my blade prior to each cut. These are good practices for every project. Sorry for the delay in response.
How do you add the earring holes and what setting on your machine so you have it sat at!
I cut my holes with the machine or I make my own using my poker tool 🤩.
Regarding machine the faux leather default setting works and I’ll add more pressure for thicker faux leather or if it had glitter on it. 😀

Can you do anything if the clear carrier sheet comes off your glitter htv ?, mines come lose and got mangled in my joy.

Double check your mat is sticky and add some tape on the edges of the vinyl to secure it in place. Double check you blade is in the housing all the way. Double check you are cutting on the right material settings with the correct blade 💖

That is new news to me my friend. I just use Amazon affiliate links. Cricut hasn’t been great at their affiliate support. They were on share a sale and then just stopped. So, it cause a lot of issues with all my links. They should have a step by step direction page on their site explaining how to embed paid links or referrals.

I tried to make these last night. I have the cricut maker, even street multiple attempts, my cricut did not cut through the shiny layer ( face down) as in video. It cut the glitter but stayed attached because of the shiny layer, what am I doing wrong? Please help. Thanks
No worries Cheyenne. We will problem solve. Okay so my first question is which glitter htv are you using. Not all htv is laid on the mat shiny side down. It’s weird that way and can make a crafter go a bit crazy. You want the clear protect film on the mat. So, you want it to stay attached to that film. You weed the outer layers you don’t need and you have the film and earring that you have to adhere to the faux leather of your choice 🤗. Let me know if this helps and if I can further advise on anything else. Remember take a deep breath and you got this!!!🥰💪🏼
@@SweetCountryGlam thank you. I used Siser gold glitter heat transfer vinyl( was in a roll). I put the shiny side down. I could see the out line of the cut but it didn't cut through.
Hmm okay well I would double check your pressure setting right before you go to make it. I would try more pressure and do just a single test cut of an earring and see if it works 😊

I believe I was using my 1st Gen Explore machine! 🥰
What blade did you use?
I use the standard blade - the 45 degree angle for the faux leather. I use more pressure for the chunkier pieces.

May I ask (not being sarcastic) and this may sound like a dumb one but why you would use expensive faux leather, other than for structure if you're just going to cover it, especially when making the comment about the "pretty blue" color?
It’s a great question. Actually my FL wasn’t to expensive and later Decoded to to start covering the backside and not the color side. I then took it step further in later tutorials and made just double sided glitter htv earrings without faux leather as another option 🤗it’s all about what works for you and your preferences. Please be very specific about Design Space and subscribing. It does NOT cost any money to use Design Space. Cricut Access is about $10/mo but that is not necessary. This is very misunderstood and is confusing. Please give correct information.
That is correct. You sign up for design space but they do have subscriptions. I mentioned the subscriptions as that allows you more access to their platform. Those are not free but to use the design space is free. My apologies if there was some confusion. Have a great day.
