Saved me some headache w this video. For whatever reason it never occurred to me how the remote ignitor was setup. Switched out the double AAs and that was that. Thank you!
've tried all of these tips. Remote switch is in the Off position. Fresh batteries in both units, and I can hear the tinkle sound when I aim the remote at the black box and hit on. What else can I try? Thanks in advance.
I agree with the others. First, I do appreciate your doing the video trying to help. Advice,,,,,,,, I didn’t click on your video to hear about blood being drawn or what time it is or how busy you are. Stick to the reason in the title and you will get likes and subscribes. If you just want to yap, I’m sure your wife is up for it.
Been trying to troubleshoot my fireplace not starting and there are dozens of these videos about putting batteries in the receiver. Nobody has a video going more in depth than this. My receiver is hard wired, no batteries, but nobody has a video showing additional troubleshooting?
New batteries in receiver and remote. All new parts (new construction). Works for a day or two, then loses its programming (low pitch beep is the only response). Any suggestions? American Flame AF-5000MOD1.
Thanks! it looks like have a problem with remote pairing with my RC300 IntelliFire™ Plus Wireless Remote. Is it possible I have a faulty Control Module (2166-347)?
Thank you SOOOO much for this video! My pilot light was on and the remote was only a year old. Changed the batteries in the remote and no luck. Other vids on this exact subject were suggesting taking the whole fireplace insert out and cleaning the ThermoPilot etc. No one else even mentioning the batteries inside the other portion of the remote system! Luckily, this was all I needed to do, and this saved me alot of work and possibly a service charge! Thanks again!
Ok, I have this exact remote and controller. Any ideas if its not the batteries? It won't pair. The box beeps but the rwmote does not. Any help would be appreciated!
I have a client that has a propane fire log set in their home. When I went over there on a completely unrelated issue. They mentioned that their remote has never worked on the fire logs. I did the typical testing and the unit will turn on if you slide the switch to the ON position on the receiver, however it does nothing if you try using the remote. Both the remote and receiver are paired using the proper dip switch settings. That led me to think that perhaps the remote/receiver combo was faulty. I installed a brand new receiver and remote, paired them together and pressed the ON button on the new remote. The control valve clicks for a split second but the unit will not light. I have checked my wiring, rechecked my wiring and even took the new remote and receiver to another location to verify they are in working order. Do you have any idea of what could be happening? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
OMG...Have been bending over to turn it on for years...2 minutes to put new batteries in the receiver box and now it works!!...awesome fluesbrothers!!
Me too!
Thank you for making this video. Your instructions saved us a service call.
Spot on in correcting my issue, also I think that you sharing relatable personal information is part of being human. Great video!

Thank you for the tip. You were spot on the problem of dead batteries in the case.
Same as others I didn’t know receiver had batteries. So happy to be able to use my remote again!
Thank you very much for this video! I did not know the box had batteries. Changed them out and it fired right back on.
Thanks for the tutorial fluesbrother, worked a treat 🙂 Just cancelled the gas engineer !!
This worked for me - Thanks!

Thank you but it looks like there is a little corrosion in the box. Trying to clean it with a wire brush but just has a continuous beeping.

Can rechargeable AA batteries be used in that box?

You may need a new remote and receiver. Contact a local company to help.
Where is the receiver box on my fireplace?
inside the front cover@lorilarge2402; we are checking ours now. Thanks Fluesbrothers! Hope your tip works!
starts talking about the fix at 2:00
Unnecessarily long video that talks more about "getting blood drawn for a physical" than about the remote. Long video short: replace the batteries.
Good little video! I love the name of your company btw. Wish I would have thought of it!
