I like how Jim took the rifle from them and cleared it....lmao
Yeah that’s literally what i was focused on
And literally demonstrated a CqC head check lol
LOL I noticed that too.
I noticed that too.
good minds think alike
I like how they put $5000 of stuff on a $500 rifle. 😂😂😂
Kinda like fancy rims and a body kit on a 1998 Honda Civic 😂
Yeah I use the magazine as my vertical, I don't do lasers and my scope has a zero magnification setting making it a red dot. I tend to adapt my tactics to the equipment and not the other way around.
What make a great rifle is a BCG and the Barrel the rest is cosmetics that's if you know anything about rifle .
10 of the rifles for the attachments they put on it lol
One of my best builds is like that. BCM, FN, Geissele parts on PSA recievers. Some things are totally fine to keep mil spec and be reliable af.
Anyone in the military hopefully noticed that he was the only one to lock the bolt back and clear it as soon as it touched his hands creature of habit
You’re gay dude
Not Kaya forgetting to clear the rifle... Commander took it and did it for him 😂 keep up the great work fellas
I thought I was the only one that noticed 😂
Range safety, noticed this as well. Looks like he ejected a round after removing the clip.
@@dewaynejones1306 Magazine, clips are for chips!
the reaction on his face after he clears it lmaoo
@@dewaynejones1306it’s a magazine
Learned a lot in 25 minutes. Had a mostly similar setup, but gonna make some tweaks now. Jim thank you for your service and thank you for helping out us knuckleheads!
The b5 bravo is the smaller one without the tubes. The bigger one is just the B5 enhanced sopmod. If you're looking for it online.
Correct glad someone else sees that
Literally came to the comments to see if anyone else caught that lol.
I love this guy. Simple and complex for your situation.
You can just tell how professional Jim is. Quiet, composed, witty, and a true badass! I can tell he’s quite a leader and instructor. That man is more dangerous with a $300 rifle than I’d ever hope to be, even with a loaded out KAC! Awesome information and food for thought on setting up our rifles…
exactly , dudes a beast u can tell lol.
When they asked him to give his bio he didn’t even mention Team Six. Just said Navy SEALs. Even though he spent 20 years with Team Six. Humble.
Kaya:' Longer on many other stuff'. Senior Chief: 'Yeah but skinnier'! Then the frontal look and a smile!!! A damn United States Navy Sailor! I am proud to have served the worlds finest service with you too senior chief!!!
🇺🇸 rah
This is a good example to show legislators what a "silencer" or suppressor actually sounds like on an AR-15, not silent in the least. It is less ear piercing, slightly less deafening.
Hey i give it to you boys for not questioning this seal😂. We can see it in your faces😂.
You can tell he's an OG because of how he utilizes the foregrip. Gripping the whole thing vs how most folks nowadays use it like more of a handstop. Whatever works for you, more power to ya.
Well there are a whole lot of OG's that prefer a different grip.
I prefer the handstop grip. I like pullng it into the pocket and it feels more stable to me. To each their own tho.
@@The_Nameless_Entity Same
He’s also chicken winging
He is pretty short and I think he doesn’t have the reach for a good balanced grip around the handguard ”handstop” grip or whatever it’s called in english (not my main language)
We've got some round in there obviously...Jim casually clears the gun.
I could tell the seal wanted to grab the gun and make sure it was unloaded asap after the last guy shot it and didn't check it.
Looks good, who am I to argue with the Wisdom of a 27 Year SEAL Team Vet! Everything he said makes perfect sense!
23:40 shows how of a pro Jim is, quick to clear it before getting comfortable in the middle
Yep. Only one to make sure one isn’t chambered
Or maybe it shows how much of a control freak he is, he obviously meant to keep the rifle loaded until Jim just took it from him.
Great video ! Loved how you guys picked Jim’s brain about what he would put on an AR style platform to make it “battle ready”. Jim, than you for your service !
That's my grip, too. 32 years military. My son in military adopted the new grip. That's okay... whatever works for you
There are people that looks like they know what they talking about and then is this guy . Respect.
Like Jim's insights of how and the why he builds like he does. Liked his explanations about what he's incountered in the practical applications of each component. Enjoyed yall having him on to show and demonstrate for us.
If you read The Ranger's Apprentice than Mr. Jim Forman would be the modern Halt.
I like how Mr. Foreman clears the weapon as a first thing, when he got it back. Safety first :-).
@22:24 that quick cut after the malfunction 🤣
13:54 That moment of awkwardness.. lmaooooo
Guys pls learn personal spacing 😭 he’s visibly leaning away from Kaya the entire video. Uncomfortable to watch at times, but great value here all the same.
My favorite type of videos, What the Pros Use. As a Deputy Sheriff I qualified with a Colt M4, with an Eotec and iron sights.(when they took the Eotec’s off)
Pros wouldn't use a cheap trashy radical firearms weapon. They'd go for LMT, LWRC and KAC etc.
@@jamessavent3636 literally nobody cares lmao you sound pretentious and dumb.
20 years leading Seal Team 6 = BEAST
This was the best set-up options and philosophy video I have seen on an AR-15. Great work, great guest, smart info. NICE!!!
I find it interesting he runs his sling connections on the same side of the rifle, I’ve always run the sling on the opposite side of my cheek weld, I’m a lefty so it’s backwards from most people.
i bought that rifle couple days ago for $379. very very happy and impressed with what i got. I like the B5 furniture as well and o didnt have to do anything tonthe rifle. Sig saur Romeo red dot, forgrip and she was running at the range, out the box.
Malfunction at 22:24? Can see what looks like part of the bcg stopping half way in the ejection port or is it just me ? Would have liked to have seen that and the cause stay in the video if so
Same, but continue watching and maybe a lubrication issue...or lack there of.
damn 27 years in the military alot of my friends that joined couldnt wait to get out with in 4 years 😂
i love the fact that you guys leave the malfunctions in your vids with the shooting parts a lot of You-tubers with firearm pages cut them out as they don't want to be seen with them. its important for people to see that there are issues even with fresh built guns that have to be worked out.
“Budget friendly”. That made me chuckle. That LPVO is more than the rifle, let alone both optics. But I do like it. I only run a flashlight on my builds, as I don’t have a need for IR or a laser. I do really like the goon tape wrap idea for the wires. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that for mine. I snaked tiny zip ties all through my handguards to tuck the light and switch wires down.
to be fair you can get a cheaper lpvo and red dot and run a similar optic setup. about the only things you couldnt do more budget friendly are the suppressor and laser pack
I would be interested in hearing from a more diversified group of Special Operators like Delta, Green Berets, Marine Raiders (MARSOC), Rangers, Air Force Special Warfare, even Coast Guard Special Operations besides just SEALs. Can we get some of those guys in future videos?
I totally agree. I respect seals but what I don't want the content to become as just another run as seal themed channel. I mean I know that there is a whole slew of special operators and seals aren't the only ones that exist with pro tips. I really would like to hear some diversified opinions.
it might only be 4 inches long but its as big around as a coffee can
No thats a SOLID tactical rifle with solid tacics. Never been a foregrip guy, have several but they all came off after a while. BUT the muzzle2chin makes a whole lotta sense. Luv it thanx Chief!
Thanks Senior Chief and thanks guys!
I’m still team 45 offset red dot, but I get the appeal of top mount. To me, tilting my rifle feels more natural and less disruptive than lifting my head.
I agree
Was 45 offset until night vision shooting
@@sasquatch673 ah yeah, I have not done that yet. That’s good info to think about when I get there.
Get a larue ring mount. You can spin that thing at any angle. Currently on sale at PA
I love the 45 offset with the TREX mount that they made. Its a little taller and is perfect when I rotate it. Slides right into my view.
Jason is smart. Always keep a side arm when going to the range.
Skipped right over the radical jamming
And that's why I run an AK.
You didn’t watch the whole video lol
I have one with a Radical upper and have had many more malfunctions than other guns. Something going on with the gas system.
I like the practical approach from the former seal
Just because he was a seal does not mean his gun is perfect for everybody. Do what is most usefull for you
What a dumb comment. Basics don’t change
The needs of the citizens are/will be vastly different from the military
Absolutely you gotta get out there and find out what works for you and your needs.
Always great to get the insight of the ones who have actually lived through SHF situations. Love it!
I love the fact that every step of the way he made sure his weapon was going to be efficient in any circumstances. Not about the looks but about “getting the job done” when a threat is imminent !!!
Instead of a earpro as a cheekweld aid, I use a small circular scotch felt pad because you can just stick it on to buttstock with no tape and the felt texture is easily detectable in low or no light condition.
Thank You Jim and fellas.Learning from a Jedi is priceless 🧠🇺🇸🥷
12:23 Hey hey HEY! We got KIDS watching this show!!!
😂😂😂
Mines a 14.7 pin and welded with an eotech 512 but with flash light and laser. Good to see I’m not totally wrong
See at the end Jim cleared the weapon and the other 2 passed it around live with the safety on....pay attention to what the professional does.
The archery kisser button technique on the rifle blows my mind. Love it.
These boys really just pulling the trigger and not aiming not hitting the target, you can see the skill difference between Jim and the others
Just for the record your average gun tuber gets more range time than a Navy SEAL. They spend most of their time on tactics, PT, and mission planning. I know they started shooting more but you would be surprised how little they actually shoot.
That's interesting because when Richard Marcinko started up Seal Team 6 their annual expenditure on ammunition was more than the entire marine corp for a year according to him. So it is surprising they have fallen off shooting that much.
@@amywolfe6100 jocko talked about it a while back and was disappointed in how little they shot compared to everything else.
Full respect to the SEALs and all military members! Unpopular opinion: I've never understood why the average joe wants to set up his defense rifle like {insert SO branch of .mil} for their own use. There are only a few people who go into the types of situations that SO does. And you might be surprised to learn that they're actually SO. The average joe isn't SO. So why set up a rifle for SO work, when you're never going to do SO work? That said, more power to ya! Spend that dollar on the high speed gear so it can sit comfortably in the safe.
It's the fantasy - lots of guys don't set up their weapons for practical use - they set them up for the fantasy.
That can be said of pretty much every hobby or interest.
“… but skinner”. Lol. IYKYK😂
My HD rifle has a mini 1.5x mini acog and a light. 11.5 barrel.
My recce rifle. (By recce I mean shooting stuff at the range lol) has a 4x acog. 16inch barrel. Has ability to mount an rmr at 12oclock.
Bravo stock is the one without batteries I thought? Sopmod had battery tubes?
Correct!
Love the way Jim spits out all the info in very few words.
Good info and the WHY. Thank you Sir
I dig that he's cool on tape and "make it happen however" style. trex can take his nose in the air stuff and kick it down the road
Jim is the man! Love the build.
I have an Lpvo but never thought of putting the red dot on top. My canted irons work well. Granted I do have to aline the sights with the top of the barrel I don’t mind it
Every 6 months I had to qualify in MOPP 4. Still managed to shoot Expert due to canting my head & keeping the sights level. I can attest to Jim's preference of not offsetting sighting systems.
Great input from a pro! I personally love my mk18 but also love my 16'' ARs. Definitely is always interesting to see all the different ways people set up their rifles with their specific preferences.
Great Video!! Very informative thanks guys! 💪 💪 💪 💪
I dig how he gave you the adjustment, but the host just completely disregarded the tip and proceeded to miss practically every shot until the end, admitting that he was guessing for most rounds, lol
Great explanation and kit!Safety first with the post clearing of the weapon before handing it off!
Nice. Mine is a 14.5 bcm mcmr with a surefire warcomp. Bcm furniture, PA gen 4 nova, magpul afg, geiselle ssp flatbow, radian raptor charging handle, magpul afg, and a cloud defensive rein 3.0. Also magpul sling
Always enjoy learning more. And using suggestions. Thank you. I'm in
Just brought my first AR. I learned a lot great things.
Would love for Jim to make a budget build based on his preferences.
He got them Navy arms man. Lookin like popeye!
I’ve been training with a similar scope&red dot combo and I much prefer the 12 o’clock position
Suppressed it without installing an adjustable gas block, buffer, or spring…..spicy! 😢😢😢
I run the same setup except I use a Grippod LE and a red dot with 5x magnifier.
Then again, I’m not typically engaging combatants at 700 meters. I keep my shots to 400. 500+ is what the sniper is for. Save my ammo for things the sniper isn’t set up for
The B5 Bravo is the skinner stock not the one they put on.
Commander offers great logic and insight here. Curiously, though I have little military training like he does, my AR is set up pretty similarly. No PEQ on mine though...
Put my laser on the bottom rail and no room on top but put offset open sights on for back-up with a 4 to 16 vortex on the 308 and a Sig 1x6 on the 5.56 now the sling being back farther sounds like a good idea have to try that out
And also: thank you for your service!
I was really hoping he would tell us how he would actually build the rifle, like what components in the gun, barrel, bcg, all that stuff.
Yall just stuck him in that plate carrier for the video. Lol.
Shawn Ryan had a rifle video from years ago and spoke about the ear pro on the stock
As a way to learn where exactly to rest your head. Like a kisser on a bow.
Learning from the best, mainly from the guest. I'm new to this so anything I can learn works for me. AWESOME VIDEO 👍
This might be the best video you guys done in awhile
Mounting your top dot on the front helps to see your turret if you have a good optic for dialing. If you run a bdc, it might not matter so much to you.
Definitely going to adjust my placement of a few things on my AR's
Our first patrol rifles were Colts. They were only about 700 bucks at the time. An EoTech was 500 and a decent light was 300. Also never put a cheap optic on a rifle.
Good thing nowadays you can get a better rifle for 7, a really really good dot for 2-3 and a streamlight 100 bucks.
The clip on the beginning class of him looks like a dd mk18 lol
Radical makes a great rifle. I have one and it runs. I would go a bit cheaper on the attachments but I like the build and it looks cool
The little guys on my team 😎🇺🇸
great vid, I learned a lot! for me it wasn't what he added, but that he had a specific reason for it and where it needed to be placed! also his priorities of the optics over the other accessories
Maybe next time, get the list ahead of time to make sure you can actually build it out with his preferences and not substitutes - just a thought! Still learned a lot from him and will look to add a red dot to the top of my LPVO.
I would love to know what the reasoning is, behind the choice of optics. Eotech Vudu 1-10 -- I was looking at a Trijicon AccuPoint TR-26 2.5-12.5 for DMR distances (on a 308 build) and an...ACOG? for the 100 yard distances. Or should I stick with a red dot, and a 1-something for the LPVO?
Great preference. I still like my red dot on the side. But willing to try out something new
Damn this Seal is so stoic, like geesh man loosen up and laugh.
there's usually a reason for that, You wouldn't understand
He’s closely analyzing everything around him
@@JesusSumaya-bh5ld😂
My AR12 and 300 blk is basically set up like that, minus the dot. I don't include a dot typically.
Love the build and that’s a sweet gun. Would you please put in the description for all the items you use to build the gun.
My go to set up is the M4A1 style set up. I just like it. What are yalls thoughts on that rifle set up?
Been using 45 offset red dot, but seeing the appeal of a top mounted one might give it a try when i get home see how it feels
When Jim is shooting the rifle he's got the sling under his right arm and over the left shoulder. Is this new or just how he likes it? I'm all about running it how you like it, but I've never seen that done on purpose.
Jim sounded so tired of those 2 a few times 😆. He's probably explained his rifle loadout more times than he'd care to
Th whole idea for the M-16 was to keep it light so the lighter won't be fatigued carrying a heavy rifle. Kinda defeats the purpose if you put 5 pounds of gear on a 6 pound rifle. Id rather carry a bone stock M-14 then if its going to be as heavy
