- Let's face it, the 2005-2010 Mustangs packed some sort of punch whenever they were new. The 4.6L 3-valve engine isn't the most popular of engines in Ford modular engine family, but that's only because we have a 5.0L Coyote by today's standards.
Andrew found this 2009 Mustang GT with the California Special package at a local Copart auction. For those of us that watch videos on RUclips, we know buying and fixing vehicles from Copart makes for good content. Well, Andrew wanted to take a gander at it, and this is the result. He did all of the work by himself, in his own garage with some basic tools to get the job done. Well done, Andrew! See the relative dyno information below.

I currently own a 2009 Mustang Gt. I know some say they are slow. I got the Brenspeed Throwback Supercharger Package and it runs very strong. 3V my be a dying breed but we do have a powerful lobby. 😎
Looks great I’m seriously considering getting a 05-09 Mustang GT as my first car
Love what you've done with the car. I expected ~8hp more and peak HP to be above 6000rpm, but still not bad for an engine with 171k miles.
Nice ride these 05-09 mustangs clean up nice when done right had a 07 as a daily for many years was a reliable car to the very end
The car is making great power for being an auto and stock intake.
I have more fun in my full bolt on 3v than I do in my 2020 GT. My 3v also sounds better.

@@GameOver321 My bad, I thought he said auto. never the less the 3v is still a lot of fun to drive with a stiffer chassis and better suspension geometry that its predecessors.
My 2020 PP1 GT 10r80 kills my 3v, but the raw felling of the 3v is more exciting and that is with coilovers and full adjustment suspension.
My three valve was FBO That included a ported throttle body, JLT Cold air intake, Corsa X-Pipe fully built automatic trans and I made 350 almost 360 HP with stock cams
Yeah some one lied to you unless that's crank power but ain't no 3v auto making 350 wheel with out Intake ported heads cams and ford racing intake!!!

3valves can’t go wrong with this model because it has a very high performance and is a very reliable model for the price point and has lots of potential. Old school yet modern and rawness true driver’s experience as I own one 08 Bullitt Edelbrock supercharger 430whp my opinion is plenty good.

Just imagine the jlt cold air intake is good for another 20whp then add driveshaft, udp's, cmcv delete ect. Good for 350-360whp
I would recommend the Hurst short thro shifter. I put one in my 07 GTCS. So much better.
Curious what my Saleen 3v supercharged would make
My dads 3V GT with a Saleen charger made about 420rwhp on 7psi and axle backs, Intake, and dyno tune. Mustang Dyno. This was a safe tune as well.
I dunno. My 2v makes over 800. Anything can be fun with the right amount of money
3.5 weeks on the wrap? Jeez. Clean build though. Awesome car.
Can take some time if only working on it in free time or after work!
