    I agree with you that this car has good hp all things considered. Not only is the 300hp and however many torque enough to have fun with, this car came out with 300 crank horsepower on regular unleaded. The camaro and challenger both needed premium when they debuted. 300 on regular gas is plenty fine by me

      My feelings are, how often are you really using that HP and torque on a daily driven car more then just showing off? Even if you only drive it on Sundays or to a local cruise, these cars have plenty of get up and go to be fun to drive without costing a fortune in premium gas. I had a 2010 SS Camaro and I have had just as much fun driving the Mustang as I did driving the Camaro.

    Not a good idea to rest your hand on the shifter btw, it could increase the rate of wear and tear on shifter components and even synchros

      I’m sure you’re right, I’ve been doing that for years without issue. Now that I’ve heard that from you, watch me have problems lol

      I’ll say that I won’t do it again and then my hand will just be there resting on the shifter like it’s running the show lol

      Its also not a good idea to sit on the seats because you create leather creases.

    You can get over 400 to the wheels on a 3 valve with the right mods and a custom tune. But, you pretty much got to mod everything - heads, headers, underdrive pulleys, CAI, MAF, Throttle body, Intake manifold, etc.

      I think mine has around that at the flywheel , give or take and probably 340-350ish at the rear wheels. I’d guess in the middle of those numbers or on the lower side. Without it getting a dyno tune it’s hard to say.

    09 an 2010 seems like they suffer the most from the roller followers failing an eating up the camshaft

    • @deedoesgarage
      @deedoesgarage  Год назад +1

      Good to know, did you have that happen to you? If so at what mileage did it happen?

      @@deedoesgarage yup right after I bought the car when I got it home sounded like lifter tap it had 97k miles I replaced everything new roller followers lash adjusters new ford cams phasers timing chain components an a melling high volume oil pump in it an it sounds like a new 4.6 again I hear it's better to run 5w30 then 5w20 I run royal purple 5w30 previous owner used amsoil in it engine was clean wasn't abused

    • @deedoesgarage
      @deedoesgarage  Год назад +1

      That sucks, I did all that on my 06 gt at 106k except the roller followers and lash adjusters.

      @@kamryn7496you should not use heavier oil. The passages that oil travels through are small and if you use heavier oil you are impacting oil flow to the cam phasers, etc. I have a 2006 that I bought new and I have religiously changed the oil using the motorcraft oil and filter per Ford’s recommendation and it sounds like a new car with 101,000 miles. They say that people who have problems with this engine use different oil and filters and don’t change the oil enough.

      @@newfie-dean5803 I was told by a few ford mechanics to switch to 5w30 they said 5w20 is to thin an it’s what makes the phasers have issues so far it has 106k miles on it now an doesn’t have any issues running 5w30 to be honest seems like the phasers are more quiet guess I’ll just use my mustang as a test dummy an keep running 5w30 in it
