Just bought my daughter her first new phone m, the a35. I think i am done paying more than 300 dollars for phones going forward. Cheap to mid range phones used to be garbage, not anymore.
The Nokia C2 Tava is way more highend than the Samsung Galaxy A35. The 4K and 3K cameras are top notch and with AI image enhancement features the photos edit themselves. You don't have to do nothing but just be shocked O :.
@@banginzaza Most people care a lot about SoC and display. After that the other things are trivial. This comparison is for people that don't actually want or need a high end Android phone. So the comparison is silly because A35 customer never meet S24 customers unless they bump in to each other at the display counter. But they're not waiting in line to buy the same class of device.
@@indonesiaamerica7050 thay is factually false. You say that as if when one person goes for a midrange phone, everyone in their circle are also basic. Not how that works at all.
@@MaddJakd Try again to say something that adds to the conversation. My "never meet" phrasing was snarky, not trying to be "factual" but making a point. They meet, I assume, but don't have the same kinds of tech discussions with each other. They don't try to have a meeting of the minds. By definition, flagship buyers are most concerned about performance and I guess some people think phones have "bling". The bling conversation is separate from this one. Midrange buyers frame their choices based on affordability. So if that is not "factual" then you're going to have to explain to me why anyone who has no affordability issues is going to look at an A34. Saving money is literally the only reason to choose one over the S-series. Or put another way, anyone looking for an S-series is not going to need to compare it to an A34 unless they're totally ignorant. The A73 is the only A-series that ever ate in to S series because the screen was better than all of the S-series at the time other than the Ultra. I repeat, nobody is going to seriously question which one is better for them if they don't mind spending money on the S-series. Even the A55 sucks but some might think because the pricing is getting close to the FE-series that they might look at those differences. For me I would never spend the money on the A55 when the FE series are so close in price. But at least one can understand who would, because FE is also mid-range but has most of the features of the S series.
heck even their $200-ish tablet (the tab A9+), which is their low end tablet, has it. it has snapdragon 695 which should be way slower than whatever the a35 is powered with
The s9 still has a flagship processor for example my 4 year old s20 still demolishes the A series in performance why? Because they have more powerful processors so even in the future I'll still be able to play games at 90-120fps
@@sam3kperv s9 was a flagship. Them top of the line chips do give various midrangers a run for their money, even multiple generations down the line. If anything it's lack of ram in comparison to the flagship though, but yeah, they definitely do keep certain things just for the flagships.
It's just that we are getting at that point where technology as we know it has reached its limits in advancement. Therefore, the gap between a mid-range and top tier are just the extras like a gaming chipset, wireless charging, material, etc I personally don't see the 700 difference in the tech we care: camera. I can't mention performance because it seems okay, not everyone is a gamer. I would go with this phone and get a pocket camera anytime.
Couldn't agree more. I just bought the A35 and coming from a Note 20 Ultra I just don't see the difference with the price gap. I don't do fancy pictures or use the S pen. The A35 might be a little laggy on the operating side, but I can overlook that easily
It's about long term value, the A35 would be slow af after 3 years while the S24 will last for at least 5 years. And the camera would make you want to keep your phone while the A35 would get you annoyed
@ronaldmcdonald6067 who cares about long term on a low dollar phone. I can buy 3 of them for the price of 1 flagship phone. At the end of the day it's about what makes a person happy. So I'm not trying to knock your comment, I agree with you. I just don't care that much about long term reliability
I have the 8gb RAM 256gb storage A35 in navy. I paid £280 last week. Quite happy so far. Was using an 8gb S10+ prior to purcase. The performance is very very close to the S10+.
I mean its rather obvious, the s24+ is top of the line, if you have the snapdragon version like I do. Its nearly identical to the s24 ultra. The a35 is budget, you arent getting the high tier performance and edgeless display and stuff. But if you dont care about that then theres no real reason to buy the expensive model. My s24+ is absolutely beautiful, crazy fast, 9-10 hour SOT per charge if im on wifi strictly. Display is just incredible. But I can understand why someone may want the cheaper budget option
I've had so many phones between personal, work and gangster activities. I used to always get top of the line, but now to me the value on the mid tier just makes sense. I do prefer value over cutting edge tech because the mid tier gives me everything I want already. Every now and then a particular feature will push me over to pay top dollar.
“No one wants the cheaper version, it's just that they can't afford, for now“ I can pay cash for any phone I want, I’m not stupid enough to blow money on a depreciating, disposable item…. Being up to your eyeballs in debt is no way to go through life….
@cle_roknn3742 there's a difference between affording it and actually affording to own it ... if you're worried about depreciating assets then you can't afford to own it, at least for now ha! We on the same page.
Was waiting for your review for another comparison mike! Yup def getting my mom the A35 instead of the flagship. Its Cheaper, and honestly she won't/need the glitz and Glamour of the flagship. And she wont know the difference either. Haha
I sent the a35 back as it was too heavy and felt slow compared to my pixel 6a. got a deal on the pixel 8 and its creamy smooth and is lightyears ahead in terms of user experience. found the a35 was very heavy and chunky
The Pixel 6a is 50% faster CPU and 2.25x the GPU speed. To anyone who wants to get an idea as to what the performance of their device will be: CPU: "Phone" + Geekbench 6 GPU: "Phone" + UL Benchmark For CPU the A35 is 1000 and the Pixel 6a is 1480. For GPU look for the Wildlife Extreme score - you want a score of 630 or better. 800 gets you to Switch Handheld performance when accounting for the 65% reduction in power that phones must adhere to in order to prevent thermal throttling. Docked Switch performance requires a score of 1141 or higher for the same reason. The Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6a both just narrowly beat this out. The Samsung A55 is only half of the Pixel 6a GPU performance and 2/3 of the Pixel 6a CPU performance. I cannot recommend anyone pick up a budget Samsung device when a budget Pixel A series device that's 3 years older is destroying them.
Actually, I'm not sure, but I do have some doubts about whether it's a good deal to go for a mid-range product. I always think it might be better to buy a refurbished or second-hand phone that is two or three years old, or even older, which would cost the same price, but at least you're getting something that was considered high-end at the time. For the same price, you get something that is mid-range-is it really worth it after all? Wouldn't it be better to spend 500 euros on an old flagship that was top-of-the-line at its release rather than spending the same amount on something mediocre that you will keep for several years? That's the question I'm pondering.
Today's mid-range phones have most of the features as older flagships. For example A55 has terrible bezels but same design language as new S series, good 120 hz AMOLED screen compared to 3 years ago 60-90Hz versions. IP67 is still good imo. If you're okay with performance and cameras, you'll get probably same user experience for daily usage. Plus, todays mid-range phones will get 4 years OS-5 years security updates, while 2-3 year old flagships are reaching the end of their software support. But since mid-range devices especially Samsung devices are overpriced imo, it makes more sense to buy them with a discount of 300-400. The same goes for the Pixel A series. After all, I would buy a current mid-range instead of 2-3 years old flagship for 500 euros, but my preference would be to buy the current mid-range at a discount :)
Also, do consider the security aspects of mid range devices. Many android phone companies do not highlight the importance of having security layer built into device.
Man, I wish they would put a S series camera in a A series phone. If anything the S10e still is pretty sweet. Has 3.5mm, SD card expansion, waterproof, OLED The only reason why I swapped it is because of security updates not being issued anymore and the battery life
idgaf what the phone looks like outside of it's shape and size. People who buy phones for color or glass back or anything, why does it matter? everyone uses a case anyway
the thing about longevity tho, the midrange is half the price, so if hipotetically it lasts half the time, you can buy another midrange to last the other half, and also get that new phone feeling
The one thing I like about the optical fingerprint sensor is that you have the freedom to put on any screen protector and still use it without an issue
I have an A05S and haven't found any limitations on it yet. I honestly think phones have got so good that even "cheap" options are good options. I doubt id ever go flagship again.
Nice video 👍🏽 Recently I was in the market for a new phone. I had a Samsung A52. I had to choose between an A55 or a S22. I ended up going with the A55. Reasons being - much cheaper, phone looks very expensive due to the finish in the back, lovely display, good cameras and over all a major upgrade from my A52. I did not think it was worth putting out the extra money for a S22. 4 years of updates is enough for me because I usually keep a phone 3-4 years. It all comes down to budget and what you want in a phone.
The A35 is cool. The bezels are huge but some cases take from it so you would be cool. Owning both the + and the A35 it's a huge difference but both get the job done.
Had A35, loved it, just charging port started tripping. Bought A53. I love it, too. Sometimes, the mid phones are fine. I haven't found anything that I've wanted to do that I couldn't.
I recently bought an S23 FE ,The battery drains very fast, so I have to put it on power saving mode and light performance, in order to have ~ 5 SOT ,which means I not using all of the chipset potentials ,and 60 hz instead of 120 HZ ,so basically I don't have full advantages for what I Have paid, because of battery.
Seems like Performance and Internal Storage amount would be better on S24 Plus. SD Card doesn't always transfer all storage. Some things have to be on Internal Storage.
Good choice. The S21 FE is the better phone overall. I had S20 FE and absolutely loved that phone before I upgraded to the S24 Plus but I can't really say that I like it that much more than the S20 FE.
Bought A35 day before yesterday and I'm really happy to see this 😂 I've been using S20 fe and I thought I'd miss wireless charging, DEX and things like that but I don't. I've almost never used these features and that will tell you whether you should consider saving money by buying this or not. The good thing about this upgrade (Some might say it's a downgrade though) is that I get the latest software and a promise of next 3-4 years of software updates as well.
this is a personal thing, but 0:50 says yes, due to thinner bazels, its important to me and iam willing to pay premium for it. i dont NEED it, but i want it, because i want tech to improve, which means, decrease the size of the bazles and i pay fo it. you dont have to do that, and maybe no one should, but iam willing to
Hey Mike! I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you reviewing phones besides flagships, and, even though some consider there to be huge differences in the two phones, only tech enthusiasts will really feel those. The bezels, the processor, the camera, are definitely noticeable improvements, but only too those who are actively searching for those differences. In short, thanks for your amazing reviews, and they are much appreciated. Kudos....from Pakistan 😉
When you consider a Poco F4 GT costs around £325 (400 usd approx) the why would anyone spend well over £1200 on a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.... Like I did 🤦 Personally, the Poco was just as good and a 1/4 the price.
The apps opening faster is a pretty big time saver. Let's just say for example it's 0.2 seconds faster for any app to open on the S24, that might not seem like a long time, but after opening various apps 1,000 times, it adds up to 200 seconds, or 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Thats over 3 minutes of your life just spent waiting for an app to open. And I imagine most people would reach that point very quickly.
I would suggest that instead of buying latest midranger phones buy older flagship phones they are way better and can get a cheap price Then again it depends on your usage
I have been using the a35 for a few months. After soul searching, i decided that a flagship was no longer necessary. I noticed speed difference at first, and the cameras require a Little thoughtfulness. Screen, battery, speakers, all good! Aso is sufficiently water/dust resistant. At $400 it was a no brainer.
Hey nice job on the comparison and without a doubt if you're on a budget, save money or maybe you drop your phone a lot and so it's better to buy a less expensive phone the A35 will get almost everything done that you want on a normal phone. Or I forgot maybe if you want SD card support also. I think the s24 Plus does come with some upgrades camera ,processor ,ram, screen resolution, haptic motor, charging speed, higher rated water and dust protection, much smaller bezels, 7 years of updates and people will say this is not worth it but I would still be using my s10e if it came with that. Also AI features which actually are pretty cool I have to admit I don't use them all the time but when I use them I find them quite handy. I do speech to text all the time and so having the faster processor is for me a must as I'm really horrible typer on a phone so that's a major thing for me.
Bought an A35 for my mom as a present. It'a bit chunky but she likes flip covers anyway. Was surprised to see that it has more performance than I expected. Decent phone for the 300ish dolars I paid for it.
Yes, the Pixels use optical fingerprint sensors, and I detest that. It's the only thing that prevents me from buying them. Google's implementation of optical FPS fails miserably for me.
I would never spend $500+ on a tiny screen unless it's a handheld console like a steamdeck or rog ally. a $200 phone can basically do the same things a $1000 phone can.
I know this may sound picky, that A35 not having wireless charging capability is a deal-breaker for me. As much as I like the A35, I would have to pass on it. Particularly when there are other older Galaxy S models that I can buy for the same price and have wireless charging.
Translation: if ur looking a for a cheaper VERSION of the Series phones of 2024, then this A35 is it. Cheaper price & cheaper specs, tho the Phone looks nice.
Its better to wait for the next phone to come out and see a good discount on a previous phone. Im planning on getting the s24+ since it's the ultra model, but more comfortable and maybe better battery life since the ram has increased. If anything, the s23 base model is what I was going for at first, but stopped to see the s24 line up, and the s24+ overall is a step up from any previous plus models.
The Samsung S ultras has a DEX feature which turns any monitor/display that you can use HDMI or Screen mirroring into a desktop like experience turning your phone into your trackpad and keyboard, or connect your own wireless peripherals.

I think the biggest rivalry to the A35 is the S23. Last year I upgrade phone and I had a budget of 400€. The A34 was 380. A second hand S22 was 400. The only thing I lake is battery life because S22 generation. Without that, I am pleased with my phone. I didn't thought that I would take a lot of picture but is realy convenient. I checked quickly and you can get S23 for 500€... so an A35/55 or S23 is the real question.
Thanks Mike for the video. I have a Pixel 6a, I am having some problems with it. The Pixel keeps me on my toes. It goes ok for a while then it acts up. ? Never a dull moment. 🙂
I game so the extra performance is useful to me, plus it'll last longer so in the long run I'll spend far less money. I also use my phone for projects so its worth it.
I had a OnePlus 12R before giving it to my mother, and now I have a Pixel 8A. In the past I have usually had flagship phones. When looking at mid-range phones OnePlus in Google do it right. They have flagship processors and good cameras. I'm okay with the plastic back of the pixel. I'm okay with no wireless charging on the 12R because it charges so fast. What I am not okay with is a mid-range phone with a lousy processor that is slow such as the Samsung a35. That is why I would avoid that phone. I don't care if it has a glass back or not. Put a case on the phone.
I've always wanted to use a flagship phone just to see if I'm missing out on anything major because the midrange devices are more than enough for someone like me who doesnt play any games on a phone.
All they have to do is shrink the screen size for the A series and leave the larger screen displays for the S+ series, people who want bigger phone would flock over to the S series, and people who want smaller phones (like me) and/or cheaper phones (like me) would get the A series but have to sacrifice (not for me) the screen size, as well as battery... Maybe even make A30s same size as the S20s and A50s to S20+s so people would get the more expensive A50s if they want bigger screens
I always admire flagship series, but in fact midranger actually is enough for my daily.., storage is more important and thankfully sd card still available there.. 😂😂
To me the biggest factor was the wireless charging. So far I always had S-Series phones, so I considered it a rather normal feature and I still don't understand why they wouldn't simply put this in the A-Series as well. The second thing I just don't understand is that the A35 5G is available in Europe and elsewhere with 256gb and 8gb ram dual sim, whereas the 256gb version just does not exist on the US American market, not even from the Samsung webpage itself. Why would they only have the 128gb version in the US?
This comparison is inevitably going to go in the flagship's favor. You can compare the S23+ (launched for $1,000) to the S23 FE ($500 right now), where the FE would win the value race. Same for the new Pixel 8a ($500) vs the Pixel 8 Pro (launched at $1,000) - the flagship loses big time there.
I have S20FE and A34. At first A34 looked great, in some cases beating S20FE, but after using it for some time I got to say S20FE is still wayyy better phone overall. The main difference is cameras and connectivity.
I have been using A71 5G for years now, Exynos 980 still good, I play Pubg at extreme setting, plastic back is not bad, it looks really good, and it has round corner and shines too. It still feels premium and performers good. camera is also great.
I'm reaaaaaally missing the shots in the dark or with less ligth, in my oppion that is really a deal breaking feature if its bad, next time you can like, zoom in into the foto's to have a better comparison in how sharp the foto is in the distance. Also try the video also in the dark or with less light, probably a pretty important factor for a lot of people and you just don't mention it
My S10e Broke last year. had to get a A series in a pinch. I wanted to throw my self off a bridge the whole time. I just got the base model S24. I cannot take the lagginess of the A series.
Metal ring around camera also "feels more premium", so its just your opinion. Brighness diff is very noticeable what are you talking about. Bezels on the other hand doesn't matter.
It's a huge difference in color rendering and light on the screens. Aso the cameras are much better on s24. But I must say that for the price the A35 with expandable storage is a good deal.
Maybe explore the Pixel 9 coming out in August? The cheapest model is allegedly priced at $699, which will smoothly run AI, unlike Apple, where any new or old model IPhone below the IPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max won’t run smoothly their AI.
My service provider keeps giving me free FE series phones. After two years, I can either give the phone back or pay $200 CAD and keep it. Pretty sweet deal.
The only 2 reasons you'll go for a flagship imo is : 1) camera 2) gaming ( emulators specifically because all android games are playable even on low end Android) If you don't care about these 2 go buy a mid-ranger
Talking about an everyday cameras and very decent performance (notwithstanding slow battery charging)..Is the Galaxy A35 a substantial and "important" update than the A34? Or save money and go for the A25 instead? Or something else?
Battery life, 7 years software updates, processor, cameras, screen brighness, build quality. That's why the s series is more expensive. It's a long-term investment.
Only problem with the cheapie phones is that it's harder to find them unlocked. The big companies don't want to sell them, unless it's their prepaid plans (if at all ) Although after 2 or 3 months, Mint will unlock phones if you ask them.
No wireless charging and especially no Dex is huge for me. I use Dex every day. It's a dealbreaker for me. My only charger next to my bed is a wireless charger.

Yeah. Most general stuff can be done well for under 200 these days.
@@Cargo_Bay 💯 exactly

The A35 (2024) has a lower Antutu benchmark score than the S20 (2020)
@lesp315 If I use 1 thing as a camera, computer, handheld console, communication device, entertainment device, etc. would it not make sense to spend a little more if it meant an improved experience?
Just bought my daughter her first new phone m, the a35. I think i am done paying more than 300 dollars for phones going forward. Cheap to mid range phones used to be garbage, not anymore.
The Nokia C2 Tava is way more highend than the Samsung Galaxy A35. The 4K and 3K cameras are top notch and with AI image enhancement features the photos edit themselves. You don't have to do nothing but just be shocked O :.

Would be interesting to see a comparison between the A35 and the S23 FE series (or S24 FE when that comes out). 🤔
Agreed
The quality of your video is superb! Which camera did you use to record this video sir?
I am running Dex on my old galaxy s9, so I don't believe it's the processor, Samsung is just reserving this feature for the S Series for now..
heck even their $200-ish tablet (the tab A9+), which is their low end tablet, has it. it has snapdragon 695 which should be way slower than whatever the a35 is powered with
Yes it's an exclusive to the S Series
The s9 still has a flagship processor for example my 4 year old s20 still demolishes the A series in performance why? Because they have more powerful processors so even in the future I'll still be able to play games at 90-120fps
@@sam3kperv s9 was a flagship. Them top of the line chips do give various midrangers a run for their money, even multiple generations down the line.
If anything it's lack of ram in comparison to the flagship though, but yeah, they definitely do keep certain things just for the flagships.
It's just that we are getting at that point where technology as we know it has reached its limits in advancement. Therefore, the gap between a mid-range and top tier are just the extras like a gaming chipset, wireless charging, material, etc
I personally don't see the 700 difference in the tech we care: camera.
Facts. Because people use their ppl bone for entertainment.
It's about long term value, the A35 would be slow af after 3 years while the S24 will last for at least 5 years. And the camera would make you want to keep your phone while the A35 would get you annoyed
@@ronaldmcdonald6067 Facts
@ronaldmcdonald6067 who cares about long term on a low dollar phone. I can buy 3 of them for the price of 1 flagship phone. At the end of the day it's about what makes a person happy. So I'm not trying to knock your comment, I agree with you. I just don't care that much about long term reliability
I have the 8gb RAM 256gb storage A35 in navy. I paid £280 last week. Quite happy so far. Was using an 8gb S10+ prior to purcase. The performance is very very close to the S10+.
3:54 The predecessor to the A35 did not have a metal ring around the holepunch, but a teardrop notch for the selfie camera.
I think he was saying A series in General
9:04 aren't battery tests part of a review? You don't have to include the video. Just test them and post the results in a segment in the video
No one wants the cheaper version, it's just that they can't afford, for now
I have gold plated ,diamond iPhone 13 pro
I've had so many phones between personal, work and gangster activities.
I used to always get top of the line, but now to me the value on the mid tier just makes sense. I do prefer value over cutting edge tech because the mid tier gives me everything I want already. Every now and then a particular feature will push me over to pay top dollar.
“No one wants the cheaper version, it's just that they can't afford, for now“
I can pay cash for any phone I want, I’m not stupid enough to blow money on a depreciating, disposable item….
To anyone who wants to get an idea as to what the performance of their device will be:
CPU: "Phone" + Geekbench 6
GPU: "Phone" + UL Benchmark
For CPU the A35 is 1000 and the Pixel 6a is 1480.
I got a A35 and compared to my old S10 e Twitter, Google images etc. seem to load slower which is weird. Key board is nice tho 👌
USA phone market is terrible, especially in midrange. For 400 euros you could get xiaomi 13t, not to mention other, even more competitive markets.
@@viktorbaresic4180 Yes, that's true. Europe is the best place to get phones with the best possible value for money.
Too much monopolies in the States
Also, do consider the security aspects of mid range devices. Many android phone companies do not highlight the importance of having security layer built into device.
Snob.
Man, I wish they would put a S series camera in a A series phone.
If anything the S10e still is pretty sweet. Has 3.5mm, SD card expansion, waterproof, OLED
The only reason why I swapped it is because of security updates not being issued anymore and the battery life
Hey Mike, thanks for the comparison. Really helps us make better decisions with our money.
I would really love if we got away from the glass back phones. I would gladly trade wireless charging for not having to put a case on.
idgaf what the phone looks like outside of it's shape and size.
I'd rather go for last year's flagship than a midranger so I'd be looking for a good deal on an S23 or S23 + if I wanted something in that price range
I have an A05S and haven't found any limitations on it yet. I honestly think phones have got so good that even "cheap" options are good options. I doubt id ever go flagship again.
Nice to see people buy smartly
Waiting delivery for A35 with super fast charger included. Good value with Qvc uk
Great video. I got the A35. Prior, I most my s10plus. So far, I like it.👍
Nice video 👍🏽
Recently I was in the market for a new phone.
Have an S22, thinking about getting an A35 as a backup. It's $360 at Best Buy right now.
I just bought my wife an open box s24+ for $500. If you look around, you can find deals.
Will there be a comparison with the A55? Because that surely makes more sense!
They haven't sold that in the US yet. That's what I've been told.
The A35 is cool. The bezels are huge but some cases take from it so you would be cool. Owning both the + and the A35 it's a huge difference but both get the job done.
Just got the S24 yesterday 🎉
Had A35, loved it, just charging port started tripping. Bought A53. I love it, too. Sometimes, the mid phones are fine. I haven't found anything that I've wanted to do that I couldn't.
I recently bought an S23 FE ,The battery drains very fast, so I have to put it on power saving mode and light performance, in order to have ~ 5 SOT ,which means I not using all of the chipset potentials ,and 60 hz instead of 120 HZ ,so basically I don't have full advantages for what I Have paid, because of battery.
Worst battery ever, returned mine and worse still it had Exynos processor
How many SOT do you get with everything on?
Very good review and logical approach to price performance and people's needs. Like your content . Wish you the best
As a web designer, I saw a difference and design and it's quite clear: corner radius.
The one of the right has a bigger corner radius.
Excellent comparison !!! Thank you !
This is exactly the video I needed to watch today. Very informative. I now have made my decision. Thank you.
Seems like Performance and Internal Storage amount would be better on S24 Plus. SD Card doesn't always transfer all storage. Some things have to be on Internal Storage.
I just bought the S 21 fe instead of the A35
Same

Good choice. The S21 FE is the better phone overall. I had S20 FE and absolutely loved that phone before I upgraded to the S24 Plus but I can't really say that I like it that much more than the S20 FE.
I hated that phone, but I think it was refurbished
I have s21 fe for almost two years and it works well. I switched from Iphone and I really love it.
The A55 sides are Metal!!!
Sry I thought it’ll be the A55
this is a personal thing, but 0:50 says yes, due to thinner bazels, its important to me and iam willing to pay premium for it. i dont NEED it, but i want it, because i want tech to improve, which means, decrease the size of the bazles and i pay fo it. you dont have to do that, and maybe no one should, but iam willing to
Like I did 🤦
Personally, the Poco was just as good and a 1/4 the price.
I would suggest that instead of buying latest midranger phones buy older flagship phones they are way better and can get a cheap price
Then again it depends on your usage
Thank you for this comparison
Yeah budget/midrange phones have gotten so much better in the past 3-4 years
Yes, the Pixels use optical fingerprint sensors, and I detest that. It's the only thing that prevents me from buying them. Google's implementation of optical FPS fails miserably for me.
I would never spend $500+ on a tiny screen unless it's a handheld console like a steamdeck or rog ally. a $200 phone can basically do the same things a $1000 phone can.
Samsung has reserved wireless charging, AI features and Dex the S series phones, so none of the A series phones including the A35 get these features
Bought my A35 5g last week i am very very impressed at this price point
You don't get any lag?
The Samsung S ultras has a DEX feature which turns any monitor/display that you can use HDMI or Screen mirroring into a desktop like experience turning your phone into your trackpad and keyboard, or connect your own wireless peripherals.

it looks like a really cool phone and i personlly don't think the bezels look bad at all
I think the biggest rivalry to the A35 is the S23.
Got my s21 ultra for 380 last year so yeah always buy an older (albeit refurbished with flaws) flagship imo

Should I buy the s24 plus or z flip 6 or s25 plus 🤔
You are always doing good work, nice guy..
I'm a sucker for value 😂😂
Honestly, I am not very picky with phones starting about 5 years ago. They all perform more than satisfying
The foldable phones from Samsung really do lose their value real fast. Some like the 5th gen flip phones are essentially the same cost as this A35
I have been using A71 5G for years now, Exynos 980 still good, I play Pubg at extreme setting, plastic back is not bad, it looks really good, and it has round corner and shines too.
@@raven8472Chickens Not the S10e! That was the "bite sized" phone to show them how it's done.

Thanks!
Metal ring around camera also "feels more premium", so its just your opinion.
Brighness diff is very noticeable what are you talking about. Bezels on the other hand doesn't matter.
we need s24 vs a55. I got the a 55 for my sister and i got the s24+
The only 2 reasons you'll go for a flagship imo is :
1) camera
2) gaming ( emulators specifically because all android games are playable even on low end Android)
If you don't care about these 2 go buy a mid-ranger
The a35 is really good for its price
Then, there is the M35 which has the same display, camera, processor, 8gb ram max, 1000mah more and plastic body for about 33% cheaper.
Talking about an everyday cameras and very decent performance (notwithstanding slow battery charging)..Is the Galaxy A35 a substantial and "important" update than the A34? Or save money and go for the A25 instead? Or something else?
Great review 👏 👌 👍
Battery life, 7 years software updates, processor, cameras, screen brighness, build quality.
That's why the s series is more expensive. It's a long-term investment.
Only problem with the cheapie phones is that it's harder to find them unlocked. The big companies don't want to sell them, unless it's their prepaid plans (if at all ) Although after 2 or 3 months, Mint will unlock phones if you ask them.
The A35 costs £190 in the UK at the moment, i just got one as a spare/work phone
No wireless charging and especially no Dex is huge for me. I use Dex every day. It's a dealbreaker for me. My only charger next to my bed is a wireless charger.
