The Samsung Galaxy S24+ may just be the best phone out of the S24 lineup this year, for most folks. It offers almost the same level of everything as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, but it cost $300 less and you don't really miss out on much. I really like the S24 Plus and I think that Samsung did a great job with it!

I also like that there's no price bump from last year's model. The price hike on the Ultra felt really unwarranted
I fee like they should made s24, 24+ models and s24 pro, s24 pro+ models with the same casing. Ditching the ultra and keeping the costa more even.
Yes, and the excuse that it was to defray the cost of provisioning servers for the AI features feels empty. All of the phones have AI, so why did only S24U buyers get stuck with the bill? The marketing was misleading as well, as only a few of the AI features are processed on the hardware.
Its cuz they upped the base memory
You are one of the few people talking about the plus model. RUclipsrs and many others are all about the ultra
Yeah, glad I traded in my 23 ultra for it. Much more easy to handle. Don’t miss the SPen, extra cameras or sharp corners and weight off it. Way more manageable, especially in pockets.
I agree with you since I did thr same thing.
Samee
Yep I did too
Greetings from Australia. I bought a 24+ last week and I'm extremely happy with it.I use it to video my You Tube shows.
In some regions, it is called "S24-" because they have Exynos processors. 😮
Facts
Ya I am from that region and these regions should boycott Samsung
Watch android authority's video.
Techmo also did a video on exynos s24 vs snapdragon s24 but his exynos s24 was defective. How do we know that? His exynos s24 lasted less than s23 while everyone else's exynos s24(GSMarena's for example) lasted more than s23. Techmo's unit also scored a lot lower than usual at benchmarks. Also his unit got upto 52 degrees celsius while no one else managed to get it beyond 47 degrees
I bought the S24 plus exynos and had to give it back because of exynos modem trash and uploading speeds. Was horrendous. Shame really as I preferred it to the ultra. I've now ended up buying the S23 ultra 12g 512g super cheap £500 ($630), and am very happy with it especially for watching content. I loved how loud the speakers are on the S24 plus but they're super loud on the 23 ultra. I just couldn't carry on with the exynos version! I'm happy seeing people enjoying the snapdragon version and that's how all the flagship s series phones should be. The exynos has no right to come anywhere near the s series phones. The ultra is definitely a lot heavier and I do prefer lighter phones but no exynos thanks. Maybe next year snapdragon in all of the line ups again and we'll take it from there...
Have to say, you are absolutely right about the iPhone antenna. I have a 15 pro max and driving to work, I lose complete signal in the same 3 areas. I thought it was just a T-Mobile issue. I just bought a OnePlus 12 and noticed I have not lost signal in those areas with the OnePlus.
Yup. I have issues with ATT and TMO. Zero issues with any Snapdragon handset.
I got the base model, its been really great so far performance and battery life wise
That's what I went for. It's a secondary phone but I think it's pretty sweet. It's been awhile since I last had a Samsung so this will be a good one for me to relearn it again.
I agree that the s24 plus is best plus since the s20 plus. I love this phone, see better cellular performance on the x75 modem. I love this phone.
I upgraded from the 20+ blue
I really liked that phone and I didn't like any galaxy from 21 to 23 but the 24+ violet really got my attention, I'm gonna miss my 20+ but it's time for an upgrade. I really like the design and how it feels on hand the 24+ 👌🏻
@@A.I.WarFare1947 that a big upgrade and now you will have c band support Witch is big.
It's really the best phone in the lineup based on value. Most people don't need the Ultra, S Pen goes unused and zoom not used, etc. But people mainly buy it for status or, maybe someday I'll use the S Pen or zoom. Never do.
I don’t know how I love it I use the S pen often. S24 and S24 plus are also dope.
@@HenHavenEggs most people dont, I am glad that you can magsafe on Samsung tho. That's very usable. Reverse wireless charge is a sweet feature, but how often do we really use that?!?! I'd rather have an IR blaster
An IR blaster like OnePlus 12?
Most people use spen cause there note users
@@jbrei713 note was not a best selling phone which proves my point that most don't use it. Thanks for helping me make the point
I agree with you on the S24+ antenna....I bought the S24+ in January and it's the best phone I have ever owned (have had the Samsung S4, the Note 5, the S8, the S10+, the S21+ and this one) and the antenna is phenominal! The best I have seen!
Its a great upgrade coming from s22 ultra. I like it a lot and do not miss the ultra features and like the slightly smaller size.
Yes I got my iPhone 15 pro for free with bill credits and people were crapping on me because they said oh you're locked into tmobile for 2 years and I was like well I wasn't going anywhere anyways so why not get a free phone out of the deal??
Got Verizon not going anywhere especially not with T-Mobile hacked again ouch data compromised
I always enjoy your videos man! My number one tech channel!
Got the S24+ and it is the best phone I have had thus far. I am coming from a Pixel 7 Pro and Oneplus 11. This S24+ phone has the speed, battery life, fluid and error free user experience.
Traded my s10 + for s24+ and I like it. Having a few hiccups but all in all it's a good size , not to heavy and I like the flat screen. Thank you for sharing all your information I really appreciate it. It helped in making my decision. Got it on release date so I was able to get the violet and free upgrade. Just paid for charger and case since I traded old phone 👍
Finally upgraded from a S10+ from when it launched to a s24+. It was finally worth upgrading as previous year models were downgrades. Very happy with the new phone
I just bought it yesterday. I traded in my Pixel 8 Pro to Best Buy after I bought it.
I like the S24 base model.
8gb of ram isn’t enough
I just bought one for my son. It is perfect for him.
@@MrPontiac005lucky kid. Well done.
@jralphroman Depends on how you use your phone? My wife has the s23u with 12g ram and usually has 20 some apps open. I have the s23fe with 8g ram and I might have 3 apps open at most but mostly only 2. My phone works perfectly and fast for me anyways.
I got S23 Ultra last year, and then I regretted not getting the plus model, mostly because of the weight, it took me a while to get used to the Ultra weight especially with 60 grams case (later switched to a 30 gram lighter case). With S24+, Samsung did a good job for US customers, but outside US, they are using Exynos which is not as good as SD (performance, heat, and battery)
I wanted to love pixel 8 pro. Sent it back. Waited for the 24 ultra. Than I saw the 24 plus and the specs. WOW. Love it. No looking back I upgraded from the iPhone 13 pro Max. Not disappointed at all
S24 + better than 13 pro max???
@@user-sc7hg3ux4g I've used the 13 pro Max since launch. Love the 24 s plus. They've nearly identical in size. Better sound . I really like it
Just made the leap from the S22 Ultra to the S24 Ultra. Super happy and can't wait for it to arrive in a few days! Great content. Appreciate an honest and detailed review.
My wife has S23+. It is still a great phone. I’d never use the sharpest possible resolution anyway. Refresh rate is more important and 120hz is a perfect compromise. Of course S24+ is better, but S23+ is still a great purchase.
I cant wait for your full review on s24 ultra. I am loving mine! Can't stop using it.
Yes, big facts! This is why I did the $800 versus $1000 for my Galaxy S5. Saved tons of money over the 36 months. And yes, nothing is absolutely free 😂
Just got mine yesterday and living it so far, super smooth, g galaxy bus pro 2 sounds amazing, screen is beautiful.. no need to spend an extra 300+for the ultra..I previously had the base s24 model but returned it buzz I felt it was too small for me but still a great compact powerhouse of a phone
I like 100x zoom. So ultra is my choice
I’m glad you like this one!!
Hi, with you needing an iPhone and highly rating the S24 series and the Fold, what do you tend to carry on a daily basis with you?
I got Verizon and iPhone no problem with signals.
I traded in my s22 ultra and got the s24 plus for half the original price. They also have amazing discounts on their website right now. Even coming from the s22 ultra, the difference is huge! Love how smooth it runs and is a lot more manageable than the ultra. The camera is not as good or great but much more responsive
Finally a logical upgrade from the S21 Ultra
Thank you for this video, and for providing more visibility on the S24+! I plan on keeping my S23 Ultra (because besides my Note 9, it's the GOAT). However, I traded my zFlip 5 for the S24+ in cobalt violet to use as a backup, and it's such an awesome phone!
iPhone's do use Qualcomm modems, they're currently using the X65 on the standard models, and the X70 on the Pro models.
Also with my own personal use, I've found the iPhone 15 Pro to generally have better signal strength than my Pixel 8 Pro, both on the same network(Verizon), so I don't know what's up with your iPhone 😅
All iphone 15 models have x70 modems not just the pro models teardown of the phone the x70 models in every iphone 15 model.
Is that a blue silicone case or is it violet? I don't see a blue case on Samsung website is the reason I ask, thanks.
Had the S22+ from Amazon Renewed. Wasn't planning on upgrading but with all the improvements to the S24+ along with the pre-order deal ($1120 phone for $449 after the trade in) it was too good to pass up. The S22+ still had 95% battery health but the difference in battery life on the S24+ is unbelievable. Thermals are much better as well. Qualcomm really did a good job optimizing the Snapdragon Gen 3 over the Gen 1.
There are so many more reasons to upgrade, even from the S23+. Besides the optimized chipset, there's the QHD+ screen, the AI, and the 7 years of OS and security updates. And last I checked they are still offering some sweet deals on the S24 lineup past the pre-order period. As for the S23+, from what I've been hearing, on this channel and others, the Snapdragon Gen 2 was significantly more optimized than the Gen 1 too so maybe going from the Gen 2 to the Gen 3 alone probably wouldn't be worth the upgrade. But the other reasons already mentioned might be.
Hello,
Thanks for the video.
Does it have display (washed out color) issues like the S24 ultra?
Kind regards,
Samsung is releasing an update to fix the display issues on all s24 models
I'm trying my best to love it. My only issue is that for some reason outlook doesn't send notifications. It's strange that my s23 Ultra gets them but not this one. I've tried everything from not restricting it to reinstalling it. Other than that I'm loving it.
Great video and i completely agree!
Samsung should make the S and S+ and then two Ultras.....a smaller one and a larger one.... Just like Apple's pro and pro max. I want a pocketable Samsung with an S-pen!
Truthfully, I chose the OnePlus 12 over this but, I really love what Samsung did with the plus this year. They finally gave it the upgrades that it needed to warrant the $1,000 price tag. In fact, quad hd. 12 gigabytes of ram, a larger battery and nicer build quality is everything. In past years this model just didn't warrant the price tag.
In my region its the exynos 2400 do you still think i should get it and not the ultra?
Where is better battery life? And photo camera? S24+ or 24ultra ???
Wow. This guy is a super geek. I must Like and Sub!
Welcome aboard!
I traded in a S7 to at&t for my S24 plus and got $1,000.00 trade in. Thanks for the video
I hope you have a safe trip!
Btw the focus is great today.
I checked and triple checked and made sure the focus was solid today. I think it turned out pretty good!
Thank you and safe trip!!! what is your opinion Samsung S24+ vs Sony ?
I traded my S23 Ultra for S24 Plus. No regrets. Same size as my iPhone 15 and more manageable. I'm looking forward to your review. Safe travels.
Hey Tech Odessy? I'm looking at the 24+ and the Razr+? Your input would be great because I saw your video on the Razr+ being one of your favorite phones. I'm torn. What do you think?
Also… I agree with you about the motem
Your focus & sound was on point in this video. If you had S23+ would you upgrade to S24+ anthena is #1 for me!
S24+ is the right thing for my needs. The pre-order of 512 GB for the price of 256 GB, decent trade-in value for prior Samsung models and $150 credit for accessories was a solid deal.
Other than paying for a phone over a contract term instead of outright for unlocked, it really comes down to data usage.
I rarely exceed 5 GB of data in a month so having to purchase a triple or higher monthly cost carrier plan that is eligible for a "free" 24+ mobile was not worth it. I get 10 GB of data per month for $15 total and purchased an unlocked SD3 24+
That's definitely a good deal with the qhd and 12gb ram (not a fan of the flat frame design though). It'll be a tough choice between the base and plus model, when I trade in this z flip 5. Your videos seem fine to me btw.. I've noticed a decent amount of jerks leaving bitter comments for some reason
I gave it a try but my eyes are too bad to try to use the plus and I went with the ultra
Thanks for the video yeah and I think you're right the s24 Plus is the one to get this year
This is the model I purchased during the pre-order period, and I am so glad I did. It fits the bill for me perfectly. 🎉🥳💯. I like the way it looks, the features, and the camera works well for me. Love it, love it, love it. Do your research before you commit to a purchase, and you will get the phone works best for you too.
The ultra is way too big. Thing is a brick. The curved corners on the plus just look and feel so much better in my opinion.
I agree
I'm with pixel now but was with Samsung for a long time and always chose the plus model. For me didn't need a huge phone or care about the stylus. The plus version is great for most people I would think.
I left for the Pixel and don't regret it but Samsungs are still good phones.
Can you hide the front cam?
I currently use an s23 Ultra, and have an s21+ as backup. T-Mobile is giving me $500 in trade for the s21+, so I've ordered an s24+, which will probably become my main phone. Down the road I'll trade in the s23 Ultra for something else.
I could not handle the blue/green color shift that is very strong when viewing from the slightest angle in these latest Samsungs. I ended up returning my S24+.
Agree if in the US but with the exynos in the UK it's not as good of a package that's why I got the ultra
I would too, but not with Exynos inside...
I like the S24+ as well, and it's the one I bought ... and I am quite happy with my decision.
I had the S24 plus. I hated the apple like squared off body not very comfortable to hold. Plus I think the camera wasn't that great. Everything was overblown, especially the video went and got the S24 ultra much better.
The problem for this phone is that the OnePlus 12 exists and its:
1. Cheaper
2. Has more memory and storage
3. The Camera isnt complete dog crap like with past OnePlus phones
Unless you really need Samsung exclusive features IDK or are completely ignorant about the smartphone market IDK why you would buy this
It's not that much higher. Has ip68, mmWave 5g, AI features . Oh and the one12 is ugly af.
Great content. After all that's said and done, I still love my my s23 ultra. I will trade in my s23 ultra for the s25 ultra. If I'm impressed
I returned it 🤷🏾♂️ Little things like them keeping a 3x instead of upping to 5x on the camera turned me off. Plus, I don't like the iPhone feel.
Back in 2022, I would've preferred the s22 Ultra, but ended up getting the s22+ instead because of $.
After doing a good deal of research and seeing how close the s24+ and s24 ultra were in comparison, I opted for the s24+ over the s24 ultra this year, and money was less of a factor.
After 3 weeks, I think it was a solid decision. The s24+ is quite an upgrade from the s22+ and is deserved of the plus status. Lol
I'm glad I traded my S23+ for the 24+
Did u get exynos or sd
Im thinking about it too. How is the battery on mobile data?
@@BoomChing sd
@@syedtayyab5142 battery life on mobile is great.
Its been truly great to me
Glad you hear it
Anybody else google chrome an gamil screen stay pink? On s24 ultra ? An why
You know what they could do to be game changer, make it less than 1000 bucks! Mind blowing idea, right?
I get sick download speeds out on the country side at my parents house with my 24 ultra. 3 times better than my 14 PM. Crazy
Except that outside of North America they're ruined it by using an Exynos processor again instead of last year's Snapdragon across the board...🤨
Just got mine this past week. I love it, but why is there no led notification? I upgraded from the s9+. Why is there led notifications when the phone is off on the 9+ and no notification when the 24 + is off? This is ridiculous 😒
You are late decades
@culticfrog 😆 yeah I been out the phone game for a while.
The galaxy S24 is great. BUT you can buy the Pixel 8 Pro for $799 right now. That's a deal!
This is my favorite Android phone; I've had a lot too. It used to be the Pixel 8 Pro, but man, this Ultra is a beast. These app developers just need to optimize the apps better like the iPhone; that's all I ask.
I just bought a new Samsung s23+ instead. The price difference was my deciding factor in
1,000$ is the most I'll pay for a phone, it's not so easy to upgrade when there's so much coming in 2024. Inthusiast with human pockets lol.
That's just about everything, that pissed me off, about the galaxy phones. Samsung was putting all the big updates on the Ultra, and crapping on the basic, and plus models.
The Ultra has a 200Mp camera; why not upgrade the plus model with a 100Mp camera.
The Ultra has the new screen, that has less reflection on it; why not put that on all 3 galaxy phones?!
Right now I have the Pixel 8 Pro, and I can tell you; it has too many hardware issues. I paid $1,000, but it doesn't feel like a $1,000 phone; More like a $699. phone.
I'm trading it in for the galaxy s24+, because it FEELS like a good quality phone, and I've had Galaxy phones before, and never had any issues, hardware, or software.
The anti-reflective display on the s24 ultra is amazing. Also the GG Armour means no screen protector required
If you feel comfortable not using a screen protector, that’s you. I still don’t recommend using the phone without one.
No, because we have in Europe not Snapdragon for S24+ 😢
That is for sure unfortunate. Cool pic though. I have doberman's myself!
@@TechOdyssey Thank you, yes, one of the best dogs worldwide...what you mean is the better choice, to stay with my S23 Ultra or to upgrade to S24 Ultra, in Europe only the Samsung Phone with Snapdragon or better Oneplus 12?
I might get this for my wife but if I like it more than my Pixel 8 Pro I might keep it and give her Pixel 8 Pro 😂
Yeah, anything that cost 1K should have over 8gb RAM lol. IDK what Samsung was thinking last year
In my opinion this phone is competing for the phone of the year. The display is 6.7", but the body is smaller and lighter than the Pixel 8 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the One Plus 12. There is nothing like the S24+ right now, not too big, not too small with great display, battery, and cameras.
I prefer the s24 plus BUT …. In Europe we get the stinking exynos chip !!!! That’s diabolical !
Nice video
I would still prefer to get myself a new iPhone
The s24+ becomes more enticing with the new $250 discount
😂 Samsung coped it every day! Everyone knows it takes about 3 times for companies to get it right. 3 years I waited for the fold and it's nice but heavy it needed for the hinge. So nothing at all will be perfect. all good. Just means no I iPad both in one is cool. Thanks, Samsung. And have an awesome few days away.🍸
Question is 24+ or OnePlus 12
Good question indeed
S24+ hands down
Updates, updates, and more updates according to Samsung. Great if you plan on holding on to it for a while.
OnePlus 12. It has that unlocked bootloader baby
You like it because you get s24 plus with snapdragon gen 3 .. those who get with rubbish Exynos chip will say useless performance… including my self 😂😂
They shouldn't have inflated the ultra price...They got greedy this yr..Even adding exynos to.tempt everyone to buy the ultra....what a shame so I got s23+
Debating between
$660 s23+ or $780 s24+
Both snapdragon. Both brand new. Both 256gb
What do you think?
And us muppets in the UK gets the dreaded exynos version again and the same price as usa version but in pounds it's already been proven to be lagging behind the sd3
I feel like the S24+ is 95% of the Ultra for $300 less.
It's really the better deal
OnePlus 12 is as good as S24+, and another $300 less.
If Samsung don't change the the S25 Ultra for the Next year...S25 plus is the way for me
My s24 plus is giving me problems with finger print, I am using facial recognition at the moment.
Are you using a screen protector?
I have a screen protector on mine and the fingerprint reader still works fine. I'm using a matte protector though (anti glare, I love it) so it's film and not tempered glass. I've had plenty of issues with tempered glass and Samsung fingerprint reader in the past.
Even with Samsungs own screen protector the fingerprint sensor is trash. I have the OnePlus 12 and that one is light-years ahead of the S24 series.
@@Princeton_James it definitely is much better. I have the 12r and I used the 11 and they are much faster and more responsive. Their face unlock is much quicker too although the s24 series is way faster than the s24 series
@@Princeton_James yup, after I removed screen protectors, doesn’t make any improvement.
Simply because you are in the United States and it comes with the Snapdragon 8 gen 3
