Videographer here that uses the Panasonic s5ii/s5 regularly. The autofocus on Panasonic is pretty good but still not as good as Sony and Canon so you have to make some changes so that it does exactly what you want. If you haven't already, I would turn off face/eye autofocus and put the AF mode into the box mode ( sorry can't remember the correct name as the moment). You can set the box to be over your face and then when you hold up items in front your face it should focus really quickly on and off the items. If you're using the s5 mark 1 then the AF problems you're having are due to the AF system it uses but what I said above will still help some.
Thanks Adam for initial thoughts on S24+. You picked up on all the upgrades over the S23+, and reinforced my decision to trade in my S23 base for the S24+. Hopefully it'll arrive in next couple of days, got the 512gb in Sapphire Blue! By the way, vlog sounded OK. 😊 👍

After listening to your pros, cons of phones I got the s24+ and am very happy, so far. Bought a tablet and traded my s10+ which was in great shape and 5 years old walked out with a free phone. The tablet $200. It was launch day🥳 mostly paid for the x-tras that you have mentioned. I appreciate all your videos. They really helped with my decision !!! 🙏
Just bought this on Thursday and absolutely love it. 2 days so far and seems like I made the best choice. Could have gotten the ultra but figured I'd save $240 and get the plus now that it just as much ram, storage, battery and a quad hd display similar to the ultra. I spent about $710 on this after discounts. My iPhone 15 (base 6.1 non plus) cost about $680 after discounts. Both are 256gb. For the similar prices I paid price, this phone blows the iPhone 15 (and plus as well) out the water.
Good video... Yeah i got my S24 Plus on preorder so it came with 512 storage. Two weeks before pre-order I bought a S21 Ultra to trade in for $350 and Samsung gave me $550 so with Samsung there's always a way to get a discount if buy at the right time. I would bet that if you wait a month or two they'll be sale where you can snag an s24 Plus for less than the $1,000 they're asking which nobody should ever pay.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that nothing moves on the AOD? I have a clock, notification icons and the battery percentage, but they all stay in place when my AOD is active. Prior to 6.1, the items on the AOD moved around to prevent burn-in.
Been using this s24 ultra for the past 3 days along side the iPhone 15pm. Best thing is I have imessage and google messge on the same phone. You have to setup airmessage on a Mac first but it works great
What’s nice about newly released Galaxy S/Flip/Fold phones is the trade in promotion most carriers have for the first few months. For my carrier, there’s always a $600 bonus tacked on to the trade in value making most new Galaxy phones free after trade in. But that’s not enough to get me to switch to a Samsung.
Going from my s23 ultra to the s24 plus had me worried til i saw this. My phone insurance wasnt able to fix my s23 ultra so theyre sending me a check for the full msrp of the s23U when i bought it so im getting a free upgrade and ill have a couple months of free service lmao. I'm glad you're touching on this. The ultra is for the note users. We were all disappointed when samsung killed the note but then they fixed it by putting them together and making the ultra. If I didn't want spen or like the biggest phones and boxy design I may would have gotten the plus. I'm proud of Samsung even the mid range phones are nice.
Yep, it’s a great phone, as I type this on my 15PM😂. I’M SWITCHING BACK! Just needed to see the iPhone/watch ultra 2 update. Yeah, they’re the same size etc, but the weight is noticeably lighter in the 24+.

The squared corners and curved screen are too impractical and uncomfortable to hold tbh. I had an s10+ and it was unbearable to hold because of the curved screen and glossy back. Even with a case, the s10+ was still hard to maintain and keep untouched with the curved screen. The note 20 I had was heavy, and the corners put holes in my pockets. Not only that, but the squared corners dug into my palm whenever I held it. The s23+ was the first time I had a galaxy phone that was truly comfortable to hold in my hand. It still was hard to hold because the polished aluminum edges made it slippery.
