Instructions unclear, carried 8 spare rifles for my magazine.
Reminds me of a story about some American guys that found an AK in Vietnam. Picked it up in the jungle and brought it back to base, there it sat, uncleaned covered in jungle water sitting in a steel locker for a couple of months. The guys later remembered that AK they found and wanted to shoot it, it was so rusted the bolt was fused to the receiver. So they put it on the ground, kicked the bolt, loaded in a magazine, and it functioned flawlessly.

Hungary. We're neighbours with based Slovenia but our gun laws are much worse. :/
gabrocki oh that sucks I thought that most European countries had decent gun laws. We're allowed rifles in England no handguns (unless modified) and I doubt we'd be allowed an ak like shown.
Feel with you. In Austria there is only the R94 available, you anyway have to rack after every shot.

I can see all the AR guys and range nazis having a coronary over the "Boot Stomp" technique.
nice
considering i've done that with my AR, i'm gonna go with a no on that
AKlover I was pretty surprised when I saw that done by a sergeant when I was shooting an old-ass M14 which kept jamming. He did it once or twice, then told me to do it myself, which was quite the eye opener for a conscript just a few weeks in - guns are rugged and don’t really need to be babied 😃
@@codenamecordon Ars are made of Aluminum and their charging handles are damned near razor thin. Introduce a boot with any force or apply force in slightly the wrong direction and you will have a non-functional gun.
AKlover wow, didn’t know that. M14 was fine though, and our AK-based weapons never needed that treatment 😃
AK? Malfunctions?
Have you been smoking again?
They happen, mostly with US made AKs and AKs that have been poorly converted to civilian rifles
As a part of our AK training DVD i tried to include absolutely everything, even malfunctions
So malfunctions only occur in AKs made by capitalists and Western spies? Makes sense. It wouldn't happen to a glorious Soviet AK made of pure Stalinium!
And before anyone comments: yes, I've seen the InRange mud tests.
Has been a russian AK in the video, so... they happen.
you forgot the biggest problem: bad ammo

Last time any AK malfunctioned a Nokia phone broke
dankstroke_69 its because the person was trying to rack the bolt with the nokia since he couldn’t kick it hard enough 😂
That's how the Big Bang happened.

So it never happened?
It's all about that boot stomp. That shit works like a charm, and mitigates any possibility of lacerating your hand or somehow otherwise damaging your hand. If your AK can't take a boot stomp quit buying from century and get a proper military made AK.
AK Malfunctions?! No such thing! There are only operator errors leading to an expression of displeasement by the rifle.
or defective cheaper magazines
Honestly I’m appalled AK MALFUNCTIONS there’s no such thing...I’m joking

Videos like this is what makes this channel one of the best. You always hear RUclips channels talk of clearing malfunctions, but this channel actually shows you how to do it.
Can you make AR malfunction, we want 2h videos.
Nikolay Jovanovic From my experience, AR's arent that hard to take down
@@the_snoo_muffin9028 Yeah ,It breaks down into a handful of parts. It's not all that hard to fix. If all else fails, push out the retaining pin and open the rifle. Unless you're leaving enough carbon in there to glue it together that will. I guess there's the possibility that it could go off while you're doing it depending on what the malfunction is caused by.
@Aleksandar Ninković You forget that in a military circumstance the rifle isn't the only one shooting at the enemy. Light and heavy machine guns make most of the firepower of a platoon which was discovered to be used as such in the 1st and 2nd world war, with rifles filling in the rest.
I don't know of many actual battles where the AR was used that had the soldiers overwhelmed by thousands of other soldiers; overheating their guns to the point of breakdown. At that point you're defeating the point the rifle was made for and isn't even fair to the rifle itself. I doubt even machine guns with all their spare barrels could repell that much, and thats not talking about the fact that thousands of men aren't charging a trench, they'd charge a line.
There's so many factors to consider. The AR can't handle 700 rounds in 20 minutes? How does the AK hold up to that? How does various other rifles handle that? This is why the machine gun was invented.
@Aleksandar Ninković Rifles are not meant to fire hundreds or thousands of rounds in a short span. Even then they hold up well considering the abuse you could put one through, AK or AR. I don't care if the rifle can take 700 rounds in 15 minutes or 3500. If I'm pumping that much out of a rifle in a very short amount of time, I have bigger problems.
Edit: Now that I think about it, how do you know this stuff by the way? Where do you get these numbers?
@Aleksandar Ninković Could you link these videos to me? More onto the topic we were going on about, how many rounds a rifle can fire in 15 minutes.
The type 3 malfunction happens to me a lot I blame my crappy RAS47
I don't have much first hand experience with US made AKs but i've heard bad things about RAS47
why not blame the magazines? the lips get worn down allowing the double feed. check the extractor also. it might be worn down.
With about 1500 rounds, I have only had one type 3 malfunction. It was operator error because I'm a dumbass and I loaded my magazine with the first round on the wrong side of the follower. I didn't even know you can do that. When I went to that mag and racked it, the round just ran right into the receiver. I am used to AR mags (starts opposite side on follower). Running a C39V2. So far no complaints...on the rifle side.
The only thing you need to know, is that you NEVER buy anything but imports when it comes to AK's. I don't care if Jim Fuller built it himself...
Lion Celica yeah Know that for sure know Could have and should have bought A WASR
Kind of a testament to the design of this weapon that it's so hardy that part of standard procedure to FIX malfunctions is basically smacking it on the ground or stomping it.
Thank you Ziga and Polenar Tactical! These tutorials are very informative and helpful. Also very safety considerate. Keep up amazing work. Greetings from Canada.

once i was shooting with a m4 and an ak, both in .223, and i get the type 4 malfunction(the problem were the ammo and the powder in them), m4 was a real pain in the ass and risk to damage the rifle, ak was about 2min: take a wood piece and block against a wall, hit with the handle two times and it was clear, easy, fast and no damage to the rifle

This was the most informative video I’ve seen so far on AK instructions!😎👍
i onestly thought, you are going to make a video without any malfunctions, since it is an AK and you are polenar tactical, but man, that was awesome! Nice videography and very informative.
"If rifle no longer working, kick hard, rifle is working. No problem, okay?"
Man, I love Ak's. They're so simple with so much less to go wrong; and the gasses don't fly in your face like an M4/M16. I always hated that when I just put some CLP on the bolt carrier.
I have fired lots of rounds out of many AK and AK Variants I have never repeat never had a malfunction... Now firing AR and variants, that is a completely different story. Funny thing is you can feed an AK ANYTHING made to shot in it. ANYTHING and it will work. ARs not so much. Sheet I had an AR 180 that would not fire NORMA ammo! ALSO as long as the MAG for ANY AK is made for the same caliber ammo every mag in that caliber will fit in and work in any AK. try that with ARs???? So a MAG made for a Valmet M-78 7.62 x39 or even a Israeli Galil 7.62 x39 with fit and work in ANY AK variant
nice story. i've had stuck cases, case separations, and cases not ejecting. cue the excuses or the "it wasn't a REAL AK!!!!!!!"
I’m gonna call BS on that. There are two types of people, those who think AKs never malfunction and those who actually shoot. An AR with a mid length gas system is just as reliable if not more reliable.
Ditto. Exact same experience. Feed it it works. Used polish yugoslave russian Bulgarian Egyptian Chinese. Same story with all of them. They just work. Not such a good experience with AR/m16. Like our armored said, " malfunction is what they do best."

Hi!
I love your vids!
During my conscription time, we were training malfunctions and to remove them, my RK-62 malfunctioned that badly it actually needed "heavy" force. I had to take magazine of and seriously hit the bolt handle with a spade to get it working. The reason that it went that bad was actually, triple feed, one almost in the chamber, one went up to the dust cover and actually blocked the work of the bolt and the third one was almost 90 degree angle between the middle bullet also blocking the highest bullet. It was quite an experience to feel that with live ammunition and try to solve it out :P
how to fix AK malfunction 101
- slam it to the ground
- kick it
Good video and good info to know. I bought a Russian and have no worries on malfunctions.
Nyet
This is just a propaganda
Russian weapon never "mlafunction"
Nice joke but in reality they do, boats sinks guns malfunction.
@@Predator42ID no. It was the defective cartridge that caused the malfunction. I bet it was American-made. Russian guns never fail, and no Russian ship has ever sank in Russia, and when they do elsewhere, it's because your stupid water malfunction.
@@miloradowicz Aren't you taking that Russian joke a little too far.
After all what you just typed makes as much sense as Winter doesn't exist in russia.
Also the five causes of weapon malfunctions are as follows. 1. Environmental. 2, lack of maintenance, 3 poor ammo, 4, magazines. 5 the weapon is of poor quality.
Lastly the AK being a super gun is a myth not fact. I should know because I shoot them and know them likely better then you do. My AR hasn't malfunctioned at all either doesn't mean I don't practice how to clear a malfunction should it happen.
I also don't blame Russia for a bad gun either or ammo. Also Tulammo causes malfunctions all the time and its Russian.
But I love the stuff because its cheap and a great tool for teaching people.
Thank you.
@@Predator42ID you shoot AKs? P-leeaaase... Have you ever shot a true authentic Russian AK with a slightly bent barrel? No? I have. I have shot an AK with a dent in the receiver and a crack in the buttstock, patched up with blue duct tape. And it shot just fine! Do you know what sound a finely shot bullet from a true authentic Russian AK makes? It makes a "whoosh" sound. The same "whoosh" sound wind makes during a "snejnaya v'yuga" in the only true authentic Winter, the Winter that ONLY exists in Russia.
Yeah no nobody gives a shit
Love this bloke's accent
Once at the range my buddy had a type 4 malfunction, however when we used the mortar strike method, the casing would not come out! We had to disassemble the gun, grab my cleaning rod, shove the cleaning rod down the barrel, and use the butt of my rifle to hammer the cleaning rod on the muzzle end to push the shell casing out. This is why you should have a rifle with a cleaning rod kids!
I had a similar malfunction caused by crappy factory reloaded ammo that came apart in the chamber. I can only guess that the inertia of chambering caused the bullet to fly out of the non-crimped case mouth and engage with the rifling. Thankfully, the loose powder didn't detonate from the primer strike. I thought it was a dud round, so I waited a few seconds in case it was a hangfire, then cycled another round in. The bolt didn't fully close, and when I pulled the magazine and ejected that round, I noticed the bullet was pushed back into the case. At that point, I field stripped the rifle and looked through the chamber end of the bore. Sure enough, I couldn't see light through it, so I used the cleaning rod to push the stuck bullet out of the chamber area.
That said, I wouldn't use the steel cleaning rod for actual cleaning purposes unless I didn't have anything better, seeing as I've already ruined one AK barrel by regularly using it. And, before anyone barks at me for cleaning from the muzzle end, I wasn't. I was cleaning from the breach end. It's just that the steel cleaning rod left some rather nasty gouges in the last three inches of barrel, which caused wildly erratic fliers.
My brother didn’t clean his AKM after shooting corrosive ammo and it actually rusted shut like this guy showed. We had to beat the Bolt carrier open with a piece of fire wood. Cleaned it and it worked fine. In all my years of using AKMs it was the first time I ever seen one malfunction. And now my brother has to listen to me harp on that for the rest of eternity
I've fired a couple thousand rounds out of my Chinese AKM, no malfunction until today...
But it's a pleasure to watch you performing on the AK.
Since I've cut my finger on the chinese made dust cover on a reload, I'm a little bit aware of it.
Every time I shot an M4 I had a malfunction. But the AK is indestructible.

A lot of post saying that guns break after 700 rounds. NO ONE is carrying 700 rounds around with them. 300 rounds MAX is average infantry load. Remember you also need water, a bit of food and some medical supplies. You can only carry a given amount for a given time.

@@PolenarTactical Did you deliberately use sloppy ammo to induce malfunctions?
@@mattthegamerhongkong6948 all steel case is sloppy LOL
Excellent! Thanks. A bolt hold-open notch can also help. I saw a video of a soldier in combat (he apparently was wearing a Go-Pro) who had a stoppage that required him to field strip his AK *in combat*. It looked like a case was stuck in the chamber, and the extractor couldn't pull it out. It looked as if a BHO notch would have allowed him to clear the stoppage without disassembling the weapon. That confirmed my decision to cut a BHO notch in my AK's safety.
American AKs are an heresy honestly
_I'm still waiting for people shouting ''AK peasants'' in the comments_
As a Russian, I tend to disagree
Russian AK's are almost always good because they have a few, large, hih quality manufacturers.
However the American Firearms industry is spread out far more among countless manufacturers. There are many who are dogshit and many on par with Izmash.
Not all American AK's are bad. The problem is most of them are made by a variety of different smiths. Some know what they are doing, some don't. The market is so oversaturated with AR's, that's all most people know (Bolt actions for most older guys). There's not a lot of experience with all the little nuances unique to the AK so a lot of weird problems arise (ex. center support rivet being too wide, causing the bolt to not reliably hit the fixed ejector during rearward travel).
Agreed. Century should stick to importing guns instead of building them from scratch and I.O. Inc should make airsoft guns instead of anything that can chamber live ammunition. Palmetto State Armory's US made AKM clone appears to be decent, but I still place it lower than a WASR-10 or an Arsenal in terms of quality of metallurgy.
RUclips has fact checked this video:

Cussing at mine didn't work so this is a good video for finding other solutions. Granted I did manage to get the rifle back to running condition, it's just the initial cursing at it did not solve the fact that the ammunition at that point had caused the problem, lousy case had expanded and I had to jab it out with the cleaning rod.

Unrealistic
Ak never jammed damn it
Hey just a friendly reminder, if an open bolt firearm malfunctions “DO NOT REMOVE THE MAGAZINE” because it WILL FIRE”
excellent lesson amigo.
I had a type 4 malfunction in my home the other day testing out the bolt carrier. I soft racked my AK testing out the bolt carrier loading a round and it wouldn't rack back. I didnt want to stomp the gun because i was downstairs lol. I had to pull it as hard as i can with my right hand on the bolt and my left hand on the handguard. Scared the living hell out of me, because i had a live round inside my house in the middle of the night lol.
One time I got a round stuck in my chamber. I tried to open the bolt and got it to cycle but the casing was still stuck. My extractor completely ripped off the rim of the casing after about 4 ejection attempts. I knew there was not a live round just a casing but I was still too scared to mess with it. The gunsmith shoved a cleaning rod down the barrel, tink tink tink, all fixed. Keep your rifles clean.
The man shoots his rifle like he’s eating breakfast
It aint pruddy but the ak kinda needs that more violent malfunction clearing touch. Adds too the charm
Most simple is to train only 1 way of doing these things. Jam: mag out, tilt, rack rack rack, fresh mag, rack. Mag change: mag out, fresh in, rack. It doesn't matter if you drop that one round, but you're screwed if you end up with no round in chamber
