Doesn't sound much on paper, but the roads constantly undulate so your riding style has to be different to long mountain passes etc. Don't underestimate riding in the UK!
I used to live in Rosedale North Yorkshire, am surprised it’s not the steepest around there. You need to go up chimney bank 33% and it turns, great stuff
Done Chimney a couple times. Issue is I live 35 miles away from it in Stockton On Tees, so by the time I get there, Im already a little tired. But it's always satisfying getting up it, trick is to take the first corner on the outside lol ;) Just watch for traffic. Carlton Bank is also a good one!
I've never been fitter than when I lived in Crookes and biked home from the station every day! Cam, would love to see you ascending Northumberland Road, Conduit Road & Western Road on a 1980s steel 10-speed! 😂
You should have secretly done the ride on an SLe and only told Chris at the end. Hidden the button with a top tube bag or something. That would have been so funny.
I used to live on this route. Near the steps you had to carry up. Obviously a wrong turn there. I have ridden all this route but never in one. It’s now on my list for this year 🙂
Man, I’ve done 100km and 2000m and that damn near killed me 😂 Doing half again as much climbing in that distance does not bear thinking about! Great effort
Maybe not the best time of the year to do a route like this around those parts. Jacket on but no gloves? ^^' Those are some hilly 100km! Well done! I'm both surprised and impressed that Chris made it through without rage quitting. :P Still waiting for that dart + map of europe adventure. That one's going to be proper epic! :)
This is where i live i ride these roads every other day every week good innit 👍 and at the minute i'm 108kg !! after a 2 year layoff i can still ride all these hills just not as fast hard work but ive never know any different..
Bro I admire your work... But can you make it frequent... I knw it's hard but still mate, your contents are so entertaining... It motivates me to ride my bike.... Cheers
If you ride things like that on standard gears, it's all on you! Sorry. Why not a 52 36 btw? Well done Pritch. You've totally de-wibbly chubbed yourself. Damned impressive. Now Everest something, will you please?
Me watching from Switzerland: ”it’s flatter than my ride to school” 😂
Haha
You should really move closer to your school!
I used to live in Switzerland and now live near Sheffield. No hairpins or 8% gradients in Sheffield. Just straight up the hills at 20%+
awesome answer haha

Good to see you back Cam, will have a watch later on!
Good to see on my local roads. I don't realise how hilly it is around here, I just take it for granted. Great video as always.
I live around the corner from the start point, and have cycled most of the roads.... brave, brave man.
I live in sheffield so I'm used to cycling in the peak district but some of those hills are painful. I've done them myself.
Doing this tomorrow on cx bike, only 10 miles and 1000ft of climbing away from my house. Shame they didn't add jawbone climb at Oughtibridge
They joke about turning around and doing it again when they finish. There is actually now an XXL version that does just that! Ive entered this year

Cool. Out of Crystal Palace a hilly loop is 2000m max. I keep trying to beat it, but can't. I'd love to do that route.

conduit road is the best ski hill in sheff when the conditions allow

😂 Screw you Sam!!! 😂

It's mad seeing you on my local roads, you get use to it. I live in Walkley, Sheff.
FairPlay to ya remember a lot of that route from doing Battle of Bradfield sportive and the TdY sportive, bloody hardwork
I think I need to get myself a "Chris"... I literally have no friends who enjoy cycling as much as I do 😅😭
450w to get up the steep hills? Mate I'm 120kg and have to push that on a 5% climb!
A very rare sighting of Chris Pritchard doing a hilly ride on a non assisted bike(allegedly)
is there a story here?
@@allymack9246 he cheated in an esports cycling game
@@BruisBronk , I thought that was Cam that did that, or did Chris Pritchard cheat as well?
@@allymack9246 oh I read his comment wrong sorry

@@chrispritch 😂 of course Chris!
I think in Scotland can be hillier
Que guay
0:44 "30.000m of climbing" might be more like the f e l t heights you climbed
Ah closed roads.. my biggest nemesis and always on the hardest rides.
This looks like a laugh... Yorkshire, innit!
What clothing are u wearing mate?
Burn those glasses Chris!!

Why is the logos on your jacket drawn over, swear u haven’t left your team yet ?
where's Chris Opie?
Those Irish guys were probably digging up copper cables, very professional these days lol (JOKE!)
Surely you could get hillier in Wales 🤔
Correction:
Hardest 100km road ride in the UK
Squarespace: we pay this guy to promote our brand wearing a baseball cap back to front? WTF?
Hillier Than Thou in New Jersey, USA.
👍
How about the fastest 100km (most descent) in UK?
That’s a speed bump compared to Scotland.
