you can do 5 in 180km: Germany-Austria-Liechtenstein-Switzerland-Italy edit: just realised that you can do it in only 150km: Germany (north of Bregenz) to Passo della spluga (Italy). Passo della spluga is really beautiful by the way!
04:55 There is no "Swiss" language. In fact, Switzerland has four national languages: German, French, Italian and Romansch, spoken in different parts of the country respectively. There is "Swiss German", officially just a dialect of German (but could at least nearly be considered a separate language), spoken in the German part of Switzerland, that is to say in the center and north of the country. However, you were riding through the French part of Switzerland I believe, so people there would be speaking mostly French. "Salut" or "bonjour" would thus be the correct way to greet people. "Grüezi" is the way to greet people in Swiss German btw. 10:52 Switzerland, Italy, France etc. are in the Schengen area, mate. Unlike at the Britain-France border, there are no mandatory border checks there. In terms of Covid-19, there are some restrictions for people coming from very high risk areas (like the US or something), but you being a cyclist that probably seemed unlikely to the border guard. Other than that, the border has now been open to France and Italy for a while now.
Great vlog again Cam. To do 4 countries you could start in Southern Belgium near near the French /Luxemburg borders, drop down in to France, cycle over to Germany, and then back to Belgium via Luxemburg...
Done the Tour du Mont Blanc on the MTB when I lived out there. Not in one day obviously. Wishing I was more into road riding as well back then could've made even more of my time....and maybe drank a lot less. Sick vid!
Good to have you back Cam and nice to see you have turned into a mountain biker like alot of the other UK vloggers🤣. Hopefully i will be able to cheer you on in Redditch if the Tour Series visits.
You can do Czech Republic - Austria - Hungary - Slovakia. As a bonus you will also get to ride through 2 capital cities in one day and ride next to Danube river - one of the largest rivers in Europe! I did this ride myself, definitely recommend this!
A 40km climb sounds like torture. Longest ride I've done on a road bike is half that (you inspired me to get a road bike). Still getting used to longer distance riding though, and I absolutely hate climbs.
Kandersteg is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I've stayed there in the scout chalet quite a few times. It's an experience I will treasure for the rest of my life
@cameron The tarmac in our mountains is the best of the alps ;-) and there's endless roads. Only thing is, as you don't know the region, you go with the big roads and end up on those busy roads with lots of traffic and scary tunnels. You can get the same with much more tranquility. Send me a PM if you come round these parts again in 2021! Happy to share the secret spots.
You missed the Le Châtelard Emosson climb after col des Montets, I did the same ride 6 weeks ago. Well done I know how tuff it is. How about that decent from Saint B to Marigny it's super but then the climb back up the Forclaz (long side) on heavy legs isn't great. 🤣😂
I live at the bottom of that 40km climb. Just by that Verbier sign. Best time to do Grand Bernard is in May just before it opens up to traffic after winter, it's empty. Chris could have dropped in and charged his battery 🤣 I am a Scouser and lived here for 11 years, no better place to ride your bike 👍
If you start at the other side of Switzerland, near Zürich, you can probably do Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy in just under 200km. Or, start in Germany, Austria Switzerland Italy heading south, just over 200km. Both have a lot of climbing through the alps though. An easier ride would be Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Czech Rep. 175km and about 1000m climbing.
@@Cameron_Jeffers Hey Cameron. One of my training rides for the Tour De Mont Blanc was the Bill Nickson chainy on Thursday nights. I bet you didn't expect a comment as specific as this did you. 330km in one day was certainly a day to remember. The top of the Grand St. Bernard was the halfway point of the ride!!! It was a mind boggling day out. People ask me how it compared to the Manchester-to Blackpool bike ride as a reference and I am not sure quite how to answer it. Descending at 5.00am in the pitch black, 1 hour descents of The Grand St. Bernard. Makes Parbold hill seem a bit tame!!!!
Looks like an epic ride guys. Hope you had a great time up there on your own Cam. Ps you sure Chris did not save the battery to get down to the cafe faster 😂😂😂😂
Cam, great video! Definitely think four countries is possible, perhaps you could include Austria? Or perhaps a trip from France, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium. The borders are close enough. It's possible to make it five if you go up through Belgium to the south of Holland. Not sure how good the cycling will be but it looks doable. Might be tempted myself.
Had a route planned and was going to give it a go, Holland Belgium Germany Luxembourg France and finishing just over Swiss boarder 400kms roughly. I think 6 countries in 24hrs is a world record(I might be wrong) you should try that. Hit me up if you want the route, you might have to fine tune it.
I think you can do 4 in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg. There is this 3-country point of the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium and about 80km south you can go to Luxembourg as well, you can also do 5 and go to France as well, but then it would be a long ride.. But there are only a few hills there so not these big climbs
Hi Cameron, just wanted to hear your thoughts on... 12kg e bike... or 4kg road bike? When i raced i always thought i could use a 27 or a 29 sprocket on a climb with a 9kg bike, and do the same climb with just a 23 sprocket on a 4kg bike. Id like to hear your thoughts :)
Crikey, that's awesome effort! As for all the comments on 'Mont blonk', they obvs never been to Preston or Chorley, next they will tell me a muffin isnt something you have sausages on! fml! Great video as always!
Hi. Cameron! I know that this is unrelated to the video, but I am curious on how the Wahoo Kickr Bike handles sprints? Is the bike stable/does it feel secure?
if you want a good loop there is a lake in Macedonia called ohrrid and the loop is like 100 km but theres also a mountain called galicica and theres another massive lake on the other side , so if you do a loop around them both and go over the mountain would be a big challenge i guess ... and macedonia has extremely cheap accommodation around 7 eur a night .. hit me up ill help you out if you're keen even tho im in australia lol
you could do 3 counrtrys in 1 trail (mtb) @3 Länder Enduro Trails in Nauders/Reschen. 4 on a Roadbike souldnt be a huge problem as well once you cross from Germany to france via benelux ( even 6 is possible in a solide day) Other than that your welcome to come by and we do a loop of lake konstanz (180km roundtrip)
Go to Basel and you can cycle 3 countries in about 5 minutes - France, Switzerland and Germany... I love the British mentality that this is something unusual

What does your Strava heatmap look like? Has to be cool to zoom out and see lines all over different countries, I only have 3-4 counties, not countries, around me, lmfao
You can ride 5 Countrys with the same distance ... no kidding ... look up routes from Netherlands around the area of Masstricht down to France heading in the near direction of Metz .. no true circle ... The Shortest 4 Country I found while looking on a Map would be Netherlands Belgium Luxembouurg Germany (around 250k) or Germany Lichtenstein Austria Switzerland (Around 180k)

if you want to do 4 countries start in Daleiden, Germany Then go to Weiswampach, Luxembourg then ride north along the Belgium and German border up to the nether lands it should be just over 170km
France Luxembourg Belgium and Netherlands might be a good option to do 4 countries or Switzerland Lilienstein Austria and Germany. I can't think of anywhere else
You could’ve done this with the Netherlands Belgium and Germany in around 10 seconds haha!
He could've litterialy be in 3 countries at the same time there 😂
I did it today haha
Yes.. 3 landen punt. 🤪
They could add Luxemburg while they're at it
he could do that from every country with atleast 2 neighbour countries

This Video is such a great ad for e-bikes.
Two mates of different abilities able to enjoy an epic ride together.

Nice
You should be able to do five! France Luxembourg Belgium Germany and the Netherlands.
Skip the Netherlands to do four, but then it wouldn’t really be a challenge...
I recommend having a look at the following route: Metz - Maastricht
Bit flatter and more boring though
You are my favourite RUclips keep up the great work and has single handedly got me into cycling and I can’t thank you enough! Cheers cam

I wouldn't advise drinking fizzy pop during a long ride. I did something similar and like you, I was gasping for water afterwards.
Well done cam the is something mate
