Forgot to mention the key points at the end: we did accomplish our goal of doing the climb without stopping. Barry's time (for the segment) wasn't quite sub 40 minutes...but he had a respectable 1:55:04. Mallika's time was 1:56:10. Would definitely recommend this bucket list climb!
oh wow thats so cool!! i always wanted to see how it is in real life! the pros are on another level! :D watching Demi win the stage but not the tour by seconds was heartbreaking but such an exciting stage!! epicly well done btw! :)
I don't know if the video can even do justice to how steep it really is! We would like to go back on a tandem and try it 🤣Wish we could've been there a week earlier to watch the women's race, would've been incredible to witness it in person! Thanks as always for watching 😊!!
That's incredible well done. It would be such a privilege to ride that but from here in South Africa it would be hugely expensive just to get there. I have only just restarted my cycling journey so will never say never! It goes on the bucket list!!!
Thank you so much! Honestly we live (mostly) in NZ so getting to these iconic Tour de France destinations feels very special/once in a lifetime type experiences. I hope you do get a chance one day! Good luck with your cycling journey :)
@@karlsumner5594 thank you! The beer went down well at the end and the descent is such a nice recovery too. I think the elation stayed with us for a while!
@@howshecuttingbogman8999 we used the Insta360 OneRS to film, attached to the bike with an extended pole/selfie stick. Pretty handy for biking adventures actually! Have taken it bikepacking as well. Annoyed we didn't bring mics but it would have mostly been grunting and swearing from us both 😂

Excellent effort. The videography was superb.
Thank you! Insta 360 is so handy for biking 😉

Great job both! Must be a great feeling….once you’ve recovered!

Great video! The roads have definitely gotten busier since I was there some time ago.
Thanks for watching! It was probably so hectic as there was a lot of construction going on, so it's probably not normal!
Fantastic effort. Well done.
Thank you! Would definitely recommend it. Beers never tasted so good at the end though 🤣
Great job done Mallika & Barry. Keep it up.
@@Dr.SureshVishwakarma thank you Uncle! What a nice surprise to get a comment from you. I hope you & family are well 😊🙏🏽-Mallika
In the pre planning stage of pre=planning. Looking at end of May. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome! Have fun. Hope it's not too hot. Though TBF the pros do it at peak summer 😅🫣
Great job and great video, what's next Stelvio? (48 hairpins) Spulga? (51 hairpins) Great Dun Fell? (traffic free!)
Who is holding the camera? Is there a person walking beside him and his missus with a camera?

That's not a beginner, this is Geshke from Cofidis😂
Hahaha, thanks very much for the comment. We had to look up who that was but taking it as a compliment 😁 he's got a nice beard
@@bikepacked You welcome 😅
Your wife looks purple. She Must be Indian
This is the wife 😆not sure what you mean, but I am Indian and purple is indeed my favourite colour 🤷🏽♀
Very observant. Indians come in all colours. You may have heard of red indians, Navajo indians, native Indians, Asian Indians ……
