    rule 8.9 of the road racing regs for bc. "It is the responsibility of an overtaking rider to

    It's a great video and I love to see it.
    However, that crash is definitely not the lapped guy 's fault. He backed down and held his line, not trying to fight you. It's on the people lapping to make their way around him. Did you want him to stop and get off his bike for you?

  • @franciss2529
    @franciss2529 Год назад +14

    Disagree with the lapped rider incident tbh. He was on the inside entering the corner and hugged it predictably throughout. Braking or swapping lines at such a late stage would likely cause a different crash which would definitely be his fault. It was that other rider that came down, simply by taking a weird line on a slippery part of the corner. Just compare his line to the guy in front of him, who managed to get around fine while leaving space on the inside for the lapped guy.
    On the whole, lapped riders should give lead riders priority, but only if it's safe to do so in a specific moment. It's up to the overtaking riders to anticipate what to do as they can see what's ahead of them.

    • @notreally2406
      @notreally2406 Год назад +1

      Nope. The leaders on that course at that speed are using the whole road. He should have been on the outside, or STOPPED before entering the corner...then gone back to his car to regroup for the next race.

    In a crazy tight course like this, with all the turns, the promoters should have announced in the race flyer that riders about to be lapped, would be pulled. I was under the impression that sanctioned races in the UK didn't allow cameras.......Question: In the UK, do the rules allow you to work with your teammate who was a lap ahead of you?
    PS The lapped rider was responsible for that crash.

      This year they have changed it so if you have permission from the organiser you can use one. Also where did you expect the lapped rider to go? If they're going to hit the apex at the same time as the group it's better to carry speed so you don't open up a gap

  • @elmarbischop9544
    @elmarbischop9544 7 месяцев назад

    Damn, a lot of people seem to know f all about bike racing. If you are lapped let the whole group pass on the straightaways or stop and wait. You can clearly see that the lapped rider forced the other rider wide and made the corner much more tighter than it was and therefore causing the crash. The other rider wasn’t carrying too much speed because he had the same speed as the guy in front who had an open line and didn’t crash. Therefore the forced change of line caused the crash not the speed the rider was carrying. Saying the lapped rider didn’t cause the crash is just beyond ridiculous.

  • @gamingmidget
