- How to make a DIY anti-aging body butter recipe that features essential oils! A super easy plant-based recipe you can make at home.
In this video, I teach you how to make a non-greasy, super moisturizing plant-based anti-aging body butter that features a gorgeous blend of essential oils that encourage skin cell regeneration, tissue repair and vibrancy that will make skin look years younger. Plus it smells super calming and beautiful and doesn’t leave a greasy or oily finish.
This is what you’ll need:
Small bowls and glass beakers to measure out your ingredients: amzn.to/3OtflGX
Small digital scale: amzn.to/3Ou6UuI
Stirrers, or a spoon: amzn.to/3v2vifB
Small Metal Whisk: amzn.to/3rChpCw
2 glass 2oz (50g) jars: amzn.to/3s2RwfB
Ingredients for 100 grams:
You can buy all these certified organic botanical ingredients at:

30% (30 gr) Shea Butter, I prefer to use the refined and deodorized. The Shea Butter is the largest percentage in this recipe because of its powerful nutritive and tissue reparative properties.
10% (10 gr) Mango Butter, pressed from the huge seed inside the Mango - Mango Butter supports and increases the tissue reparative actions of the Shea, and has unique properties that promote skin resiliency and softens dry, rough patches.
12% (12 gr) Tapioca Starch. I love using tapioca Starch in my recipes! And it gives my skincare products such a lovely soft, smooth finish. The reason why I am adding it here is to cut down on the greasy oily feel of the butter.
11% (11 gr) of Jojoba Oil, pressed from the jojoba seed this oil has a light, non greasy feel and because of its unique chemistry, actually looks more like a liquid wax than an oil, and is structured similarly to the natural oils our own body produces called sebum
12% (12 gr) Baobab Oil, pressed from the seeds of this large fruit that grows on this amazing tree in Africa, it also has a light non greasy feeling, is stable like jojoba, and has some essential fatty acids that are protective and nourishing to our skin barrier.
12% (12 gr) Avocado Oil. Love avocado oil. I’d recommend using a minimally processed oil that still retains all of its nutrients, links are below - you can tell if you have a minimally processed oil if the color is a deep rich green like this one. Avocado oil is also deeply nutritive, has trace vitamins like D, which makes it a great choice for nourishing and protecting and healing the skin, when it feels dry and damaged. It’s light, non-greasy and leaves a soft finish.
7% (7 gr) of Beeswax - adding this to help give the butter texture and creaminess. I like using the “pellets” as they melt quicker and you can measure them out more precisely, without wasting.
2% (2 gr) Sea Buckthorn Oil - This oil is pressed from the whole berry that grows in cold northern regions of the world. The deep red /orange color is from its high concentration of beta carotene which is the precursor of Vitamin A, which has been shown to be one of the most powerful components to heal tissues and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. You only need a tiny bit of this oil because it is so potent, and anything more than a 1 tsp ( 1 gram) could potentially dye your skin orange..!
2% (2 gr) of Vitamin E (tocopherol) as an antioxidant.
2% (2 gr) Essential oil blend.
Essential Oils:
Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) for skin cell regeneration, anti-inflammatory properties, tissue repair, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
Helichrysum (Helichrysum iltalicum) for tissue repair, soothing inflammation, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
Carrot Seed (Daucus Carota) for tissue regeneration, anti-inflammatory, healing,

Great video @Amy Galper! So informative!
glad you liked it! Let me know what else you'd like to learn about!
Wow, what a wonderful video! I just subscribed to your channel here. I would love to make it but I don’t have tapioca starch, baobab oil, avocado oil, beeswax, sea buckthorn oil, helichrysum, & carrot seed. What are your recommendations? 🤔
Oh my! You can use arrowroot powder instead of tapioca, and for the oils...try almond, apricot, argan, pumpkin, carrot seed oil (the expeller pressed one) - and for essential oils, yarrow would be nice, lavender, geranium, and any of the chamomilles.
@@officialamygalper Got it & thank you. Can’t wait for your next video! 😆❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks! I need to get several more of the carrier oils to make this but it sounds lovely.
let me know if you need help sourcing anything
Thanks! My Vit E is tocopherol and olea europaea…is that ok? And I found the others I needed at plant therapy and Eden botanicals….but can I substitute pomegranate CO2 for the avocado oil? I’m trying to use it up :)
@@aromaticfun sure! but the pomegranate CO2 will be a little tacky and gooey feeling, so it might change the consistency a little..and how it feels on the skin. I'd try it though...I love pomegranate!
Nice video and very informative description box💗 I have most of the ingredients, but some of them missing… is possible to use other substitutes?
yes totally! What are you missing? I can suggest some good alternatives :)
I’m missing: Baobab oil, sea Buckthorn oil and Helichrysum… thanks Amy ☺️😍
@@nancymc1812 what other carrier oils do you have? I'd recommend Pumpkin, Argan, Apricot, Almond...all good alternatives - and for the Sea Buckthorn, because we are going for some tissue repair, try rosehip, carrot seed oil...
I do have argan, almond, coconut, olive, castor, and hempseed oils thanks for the update Amy 😘
Can you be more specific how many drops of each essential oils to use which totals your 2 grams. All in equal amounts or some more some less of others? Is Helichrysum strong?
Hello Amy Galper. Thank you for share with us this amazing video. In your ingredients you mention Carrot Seed but you didn't mention % or gram. Is this carrot seed is essential oil or carrier oil? Can you help me in this please.
Thanks
Aisha
Thanks for watching. I used Carrot Seed Essential Oil as part of my essential oil blend. The total of my blend equaled 2%
@@officialamygalper thank you Amy I will try this formula. Can I use this body butter in the face? Thanks dear for sharing this information. ❤ ❤😍
Can also whip this in blender after refrigerating if want nice fluffy texture.
I've never done that. But you can try. Not sure how the beeswax would react to whipping after hardening. Maybe try without the beeswax?
I make all natural body butter and it's common to have beezwax in it to make it more stable from melting in heat.

@@aheiden8002 agreed! but I might reduce the percentage, or switch to cetearyl alcohol..I've used that to help stablize the butter and its been lovely!
Congratulations Amy 🥰 #goAmy #aromatherapyinaction
