There are so many carrier oils that can deeply nourish and support the wellbeing and appearance of the skin - it was hard for me to choose just 5! Are there any that should have made the list?
Thank you Amy, for your insightful video on 5 best oils to use in our facial oil blends. I currently use avocado oil, apricot kernel and rosehip seed oil in my facial blends for my clients, however I wasn't aware of pumpkin seed oil or pomegranate oil. I will be including these in my clinic. Warmest regards, Silvia of The Lavender Clinic Sydney🌿
As a cleansing oil ,I’ve been using Olive and Castor oils for several years. I no longer use makeup , my skin is flawless and I’ve learned to appreciate the childlike naturalness I’ve regained as a result. I would like to know which oils are best used as a moisturizer on normal , sensitive skin . I’ve tried cocoa butter and shea butters , butters don’t work well with my skin. I would love to discover an essential oil of your recommendation. Thanks Amy.
Hello! Thank you for the insight on oils. What is your perspective on grape seed oil for face oils? Which oils do you recommend for formulating an anti aging oil and lotion?
thanks! grapeseed oil is a great oil for the face! Packed with nutrients and antioxidants. Oils for "anti-aging" - avocado, pumpkin, carrot seed, aprocot, argan, rosehip, evening primrsoe, borange, sea buckthorn, pracaxi, apricot....
Hi! Glad to watch your content. I wanna remova all my skincare routine to natural. The ingredients in my skincare contain several chemicals that make my skin worse. Clogged pores, oily at T zone, but some parts feels dry and sore also even peel. Acne scars are also present and form uneven skin. Would you like to give me suggest, what should i use for my face? I'm ready to start my carrier oils journey ❤
Awesome to hear this! Always better I think to use plant oils. For the face simple carrier oils like jojoba, argan and rosehip work wonders! I would do: 50% jojoba, 25% argan and 25% rosehip in a blend and use that before bed, after cleansing your face!
Sure - But I find the black seed oil to havea. very strong aroma so it can interfere with the aromas of the essential oils....same with coconut oil, if you are using the raw virgin kind.
Hi I've recently started the journey of oils as I've just started I was advised to use cold pressed grape seed oil but you have now given me the info needed for other carrier oil and what to mix and use so much appreciated this info I can now add more to my routine I've made notes on there info so yes great video thank you
Could you recommend an amazing on line course for face and body oils. And, a lotion. I came accross Aromatherapy associates body oils and face serum..and I would like to make similar quality for use on my massage clients.
Are you asking about a course that teaches you how to make these kinds of oils that are therapeutic for your massage practice? If that is your question try my course! www.aromatherapyinactioncourse.com/aia-sales-page
For years I have been using fresh rose hips from my garden then dried to make a lovely oil for my skin. Unfortunately I no longer have my lovely rose hips to use but have been using organic dried rose hips. I soften them first with my carrier oil smooch them then heat them in a very low oven less than 100 degrees 8 hrs or more. I usually used almond or grape seed oil; I liked the properties of their absorption. I am a little confused as to what I am making since # 5 is rose seed hip oil, so what am I making I would like to try the avocado oil is this the same as the stuff I cook with?
Yes! What youa re making is called an "infused" oil and it has different properties than the expeller pressed rosehip seed oil. Both are nice. But if you are looking for the powerfully anti-inflammatory and skin reparative properties of rosehip for skin, I'd purchase the rosehip seed oil!
you could. But essential oils and water don't mix, so you'd have to shake your bottle really well each time. and I'd only use water in a spray mist bottle.
Wow, this is really a great informative video! I didn’t know about facial oils! There are so many carrier oils & I didn’t know what to choose. 😬I am in my 30s now and I have combination skin on my face. I have really bad oily nose with black pores & spots on my face!😭What are your recommendations? I want to hear more about botanical ingredients 😻
Thanks for watching! I'll be sharing more about botanical ingredients in future videos. I think Jojoba and Avocado and Tamanu would be nice for you to try!
You say to use the heavier oils at night while sleeping. How do i keep them off pillowcases, sheets, blankets and hair? Is there a secret? Please help.
@@officialamygalper Hi Amy, can you do a blend mix with frankincense oil and castor oil for facial care? If so, would it be a 50/50 ratio? Or is best to use frankincense as a standalone or mixed with jojoba? Thank you in advance for the reply!
Why on earth do people say this? As if the destruction of everything we and our loved ones know, is this somehow exciting prospect. It's insanity. Hell on earth, regardless of whether my family and I would be poofed away, is and SHOULD BE absolutely horrifying. Knowing the non-believers I love would experience that fate, is heartbreaking. Knowing ANY person would experience that is horrifying and heartbreaking. Possibly there is naivety, a lack of compassion, or hatred clouding your judgment.
I'm wondering your thoughts on argan oil. I seem to have very sensitive skin and prone to breakouts. I once used a moisturizer that helped clear my face up, it had aloe in it. I tried using it again and now I noticed it itches my face so I'm guessing I'm allergic to the preservatives or something. =/. What would you recommend specifically for people with acne, blackheads, and sensitive skin?
Everybody's skin is different, and without me actually meeting you and seeing your face, it's hard for me to "guess" - but I will say that Jojoba and Tamanu would be my first picks....just do a patch test on your arm for 24 hours and see if you have a reaction? and use a little!
I'm missing something here. I'm just an older guy who wants to try an essential oil (helichrysum) on my face for dark spots. I know you dilute the essential oil into the carrier, but you make it sound like I have to dilute the carrier itself? Do you mean you would/could dilute the carrier oils with other carrier oils? Thus you can use pumpkin, apricot, and avocado "straight" out of the bottle, but if you use rosehip or pomegranate you need to add much more of some other carrier oil to it?
great question. And yes. I would recomend "doluting" down rosehips or pomegranate oils, BUT you couold also use them stragiht on the skin. I suggest diluting those two carrier oils down because 1) they can fell tacky on the skin, so by mixing them with another carrier oil like Jojoba for example, it will make it feel less tacky and lighter on the skin. 2) rosehip and pomagranate tend to be more expensive, and tend to go rancid more quickly - therefore if you mi them with a more stable less expensive carrier oil like avocado, or jojoba, you can improve shlef life and save money. Hope this helps?
You are going to love helichrysum essential oil on your face. Yes, you must dilute this essential oil with a carrier oil to avoid damage and irritation. Pomegranate oil is like castor oil in feel. You can use it straight up, but I prefer to mix it with a much lighter, dryer oil for smooth speadability and less sticky. Raspberry seed oil is a great choice to mix with Pom oil.

Sesame seed oil.
I use Jojoba Oil with Frankincense Oil.

thanks for watching....are you looking for a moisturizer? to nourish and hydrate? Carrier oils and butters will do that, but no essential oils....
@@officialamygalper So the cleansing oils are all I need. Thank you.
thank you so much for your knowledge!!
I dont say anything about coconut oil, I use it very sparingly so it doesn’t take so long to absorb into my skin!

Where can I find recipes? As a very new, newcomer I don't have the knowledge to create my own just yet. I, too, have an oily nose and chin. Thank you.

Can you combine vitamin e and rosehip as a face moisturizer?
I love your video. Thank you. But I did not understand how or with what you mix the oils that should only be used at 5% or 10%.
Any kind of base: like a carrier oil or a butter, or a cream!
Excellent presentation!!
You are a teacher...
I will go on from here

you could just do 20% of each oil in a blend

Yes those are great too!
Lime and protein in diffuser also in water for inflammation. It’s a miracle worker
never heard of that. Breathing lime..isn't that dangerous? I. not a DR. but I thought only essential oils and fragrance oils could be diffused??
Can I use cold pressed avocado oil right of the grocery store shelf to dilute castor oil?

yes! absolutely! I do it all the time :)
What's your comment about Jojoba oil which is also commonly used for face oil?
Are you asking if I think Jojoba oil is good for the face?
Instead of an oil, can you use distilled water in your essential oil blends?

Why not Argan oil ? What is it best for in the blends?
Love argan. Ofg course argan can be part of this list! Can you be more specific in your question?
I am always feeling itchy when i use my palmers cocoa butter and jojoba oil what is the problem?
This conventional product has preservatives in it. Perhaps that is it. Why not just use pure coconut oil?, or pure jojoba oil?
You say to use the heavier oils at night while sleeping. How do i keep them off pillowcases, sheets, blankets and hair? Is there a secret? Please help.
Ah! they can stain your sheets and pillow cases...so that is a potential problem. They wash out. But it is annoying.
Thank you so much for this❤
Can you make a video about best 5 carrier oils for hair🙈?
sure, I will give that some thought!
Hi! Thanks for the content. Where can I purchase these and other high quality, organic carrier oils?
I think I listed suppliers in the descriptions, but you can check out: Oh Oh Organic, Jedwards, From Nature with Love,
Most likely whole foods market

What oils will hydrate the skin?
Oils help nourish the skin's barrier function, and that prevents moisture from leaving and the skin drying out, All carrier oils do this job!
what are the best carrier oils for Frankincense? I am massaging it in my temple areas on my face.
I would use Jojoba!
Can you recommend an essential oil to even skin tone and firm skin?
my favorite is frankincense
