This is why I don't understand why Dr Dray dismisses oils as all the same. They can offer incredibly varied benefits. (I personally use a drop of jojoba in the am and hemp seed oil in the pm)
I appreciate Dr. Dray's information, but don't really rely on her for things like, "Did this work?" Because her skin has nothing wrong with it; of course the product did nothing. There's nothing for it to do. Gimme someone who actually has a skin concern and then I'll perk up and listen.
@@johnmichaelarnaud - She does have a skin condition, but other than that her skin is pretty fine, and it does lead her to miss some stuff, like with her not understanding cleansing oil being used to remove sebaceous filament "grits".
Just wanted to tell you that you are literally a godsend!!! I never enjoyed the oils from The ordinary but the B Oil is soo good!!! I wanna thank you so much for your AMAZING videos, the deep interest into the topics you speak on, the useful reviews and information you provide to all your viewers!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Great video Kelly! I was a one hit wonder on the "when and how" of using my oils but no longer now that I watched this informative video! In future I'll be layering differently as needed and or mixing! Thank you for the education!
Thank you Kelly. Your oil recommendations are spot on. I use squalane oil in the summer and B oil or Fortify in the cooler seasons. The best advice you gave was to blend the oil with a moisturizer (Liquid Gold in my case). That has helped tremendously in absorption. Before that, the oil would just sit on top of my moisturizer.
I looooooove oil in my evening routine. Even though I have oily skin, I love to put on an oil after my moisturiser and hydrating steps, and then top it with Vaseline. My skin is soooooo happy!
I use cocokind’s repair oil. I use a little bit in my moisturizer. Especially in the winter months. I’m the spring and summer I use biossance’s squalane oil.
I’ve fallen in love with the Juno oil from Sunday Riley! It is advertised to have omegas 3, 6, and 9 and is amazing for my dehydrated combo skin in the winter. It doesn’t contain essential oils or fragrance either, which is hard to find with oil blends these days! You’ve got to try it Kelly! Cocokind has a chia seed oil as well, which is nice for when you don’t want to wait for an order from deciem-it’s just at target so it’s more accessible but around $16 so a little more pricey than the ordinary!
Really great info! I use First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Oil. I just turned 45 and have mostly dry, a little combo, and find that this works for me to put over a moisturizer. I have a couple moisturizers that are oil free which I like to mix in or layer. Thanks, girlie🍃🌸
I have oily skin but I actually don't like the "drier" oils like squalene. The texture isn't pleasant to me and doesn't feel like it absorbs into the skin. I really like the texture of rosehip oil though. I think it's my favorite!
Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment with his permission. Try the Skin Deva 100% Argan oil. It's great. I hope you enjoy if you purchase it. Very Affordable! And it's the real deal! You can tell by ths color and scent. 🥰👋👍🤲🙏
7:02 - Very cool. This is exactly what I was curious about with my skin concern. My issue if that my dead skin cells just DON"T ever leave my face. It's insane. Cleansing oil has been INCREDIBLE, so I just realised recently that like, what if I just left a lightweight oil on my face under moisturiser (might not need to use cleansing oil every night). I bought a few serums/ampoules, and I prefer one a lot more than the others (Manyo Factory Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule), and I was noticing that many hours later I would get a very lightweight oil accumulating on my face, so I checked the ingredients and squalane is actually on there (far down), so I think it's MAYBE primarily the oil is why I like it much more than the others. Peeling gels are also awesome, and really focusing a LOT on hydration. Also gonna get a silk pillow case. I think my glycolic acid would work better after this, too, since the glycolic doesn't actually REMOVE the skin cells like with regular skin, I still personally have to do that manually, so hopefully face oil will make it easier for just water to work with that. I don't hear about other people with this issue, so it's been a long process. It's been the same with my currently dry skin, and also with my past rather oily skin before my better use of hydration, and also my tretinoin. Really trying to find the things that work before RELYING on exfoliants and cleansing oils, and I think that is serious hydration and hopefully face oils. 11:16 - I might start with the lightweight rosehip oil... my skin can now absorb pretty much anything, but since I've had oily skin before, I'm still in that mindset. I got past it with thick moisturisers, but I don't really know what to expect with oil. I have all it's benefits over squalane covered already, but it costs about the same from The Ordinary. ALSO with rosehip the source is rosehips, where as with squalane there's many sources for that (if they don't specify) and so there's an increased chance of irritation if one is allergic to the impurities from one of those sources (though everyone's skincare has like a thousand ingredients, so whatever). Thank you for making this video! super helpful stuff.
"B"-Oil is my BFF, but I recently indulged and started using the Bakuchiol oil blend from Medik8 - and it's a keeper! Smooth and hydrated for much longer.
I see a problem with applying an oil directly under your sunscreen which should, of course, be applied before makeup. So often talking about a moisturizer of oil, etc applied "under makeup" without addressing where sunscreen application occurs is leaving out crucial info.
Hi Kelly I know a lot of dermatologist say oils don't actually hydrate the skin so it's a bit confusing. Dr Idriss says oils are occlusives not hydrators.
Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment with his permission. Yes I heard Dr. Sheerene say this. They are moisturizing though. I wonder if there is a oil that is considered a hydrating oil. Need to do our homework. 🤲🙏Have you tried the Skin Deva 100% Argan oil? It's very nice. It's the real deal! You can tell by the color and scent. True Argan oil smells like popcorn. Its faint but you can smell it if you have a good sense of smell. And it's very affordable.
i’ve used some from the ordinary and just make my own mixtures now. i put my facial oils in a rollerball for easier use. no spillage either which has happened to me when i’ve accidentally knocked over a facial oil from the ordinary.
Hi there! Why is your b oil brown? Mine is green. Would you say this oil can help irratation, because I feel it definitely helps mine after tret or an aha. Thank you!!
Kelly I wonder if you might like Evolve Organic Beauty's Kalahari Dream Cleansing Oil. My skin is prone to dryness and sensitivity, and I find it feels very lightweight yet still plush and comforting, and then it rinses away completely clean. It does have a scent to it that lots of people seem to love, and though it isn't my favorite, it doesn't seem to bother my skin at all. And then their Gentle Cleansing Melt is a cleansing balm that I adore and have used for years. Anyway just thought I'd recommend. I've just recently discovered your channel and its been so fun. Very light and relaxing, and I'm learning about so many new products! Thanks so much :)
I love to mix my oils into my moisturizer. I have been looking at the Peach & Lily Pure Beam Luxe Oil, as it looks like it may be a really nice combination of oils for my sensitive, inflamed, combo skin. Also, can I still mix my retinol in with my moisturizer & oil mixture? I normally add it in to ease the sensitivity, so I wasnt sure how the oil would mix in with it. Thank you for all that you do for us! We all appreciate you!
I used to like oils and used Rosehip oil, but now I don't like oils as I find they kind of blur my eyes. I prefer sleeping packs, but my mum loves oils. For me despite having dry skin I prefer creams, balms and sleeping packs to oils.

I like Good Molecules Bakuchiol oil, since it has 1% bakuchiol, and also rosehip oil and chia seed oil.

Good insight into why Drunk Elephant’s marula oil clogged my pores and gave me white heads. I thought oils weren’t for me. Maybe just not that kind.
Why does it only have 449 likes, so underrated

I like Marula Oil as a lip oil and Rosehip Oil for general skin care
Thanks to your previous recommendations I started using an oil (from Jorgobé, a Danish brand), and it really helped my dry skin

I only use Argan Oil🤷♀️It was a gift. I only use it at night on top of my moisturizer or on my hair prior to washing it. Thank you Kelly💗
stratia fortify is on the wishlist after this video!!

Discussing that oil degrades the sunscreen’s film. That’s how it provides protection-the film. Oil is best for the pm routine.
LOVE B Oil and Fortify! They have been a lifesaver for my Tret routine!
Both are so good when skin is super dry or irritated, just got my back up bottles of both on black Friday sales!

I do this *exact* same combo when my skin barrier is off! Tamanu + Dr. Jart Ceramidin Barrier cream 😍🥰

I wouldn't mix in retinol and oil, just to be safe. Try a pea size of moisturizer and oil before or after your retinol and moisturizer mix.

Tranexamic acid, inkey list or paulas?
Great Video Kelly
I tried The Ordinary's Borage Seed Oil but it smells so bad, like fish that's gone off! I'm using it up on my scalp where I can't smell it as much.
I tried the Stratia fortify but it smells bad!
Thanks!
Thank YOU, Shari for your generous support!❤️🙏
