I like that you're honest with your taste tests. Most guys try it on the first shot and act like it's perfect. You taste it and say "it needs more salt" or "it's not hot enough".
I gotta say I’ve been using these salsa recipes for like two weeks now and I gotta say it’s been amazing every time. Thank you for helping me make salsa for my family.
If you want the salsa verde to be a little bit more mild, cut back on the peppers and add a few tomatillos. Still absolutely delicious and plenty of heat
@@alexlopez2995 I add 4-5 corn tortillas soaked in water and blended smooth too. That's the flavor I could never figure out on my friends mom's salsa verde. When she tasted it she laughed and said I discovered her secret. Give that a try too, I think you'll like it.
my dad makes a similar version of your salsa roja with the pequin i make my salsa verde with tomatillos (about 5) serranos (about 8-12) and garlic (1 clove per tomatillo) i broil everything for about 15 minutes, let it cool, blend, add 2-3 tablespoons of water and salt to taste boom it's done! this is my favorite (roasted) salsa verde recipe :)
I love finding new recipes for salsa to learn from. I got famous with friends and family with my salsa and I actually put 1 or 2 Carolina reapers because it has an outstanding flavor. Granted, it can get extremely spicy but people I know who hate that much heat will suffer because the salsa tastes so good. But I've been searching for interesting ways to do a Verde and I think I found a good base! This looks awesome.
I have made Pequin, only twice. The recipe called for 20-30. I just put the entire dried package. My hot sauce usual's. Burnt the hair off my tongue! I, now have respect! You're peppers looked fresh. (pepper envy here}. Your are a saint for sharing these gems!
Thank you buddy for doing this video my mama had the best salsas ever but when she passed unexpectedly she took the recipe to the grave with her 😢but I have a lot of cooking knowledge from her and she was the best cook I know
So glad I found this video! Years ago I'd go to my girls home and her mom and aunt would cook the most delicious Menudo and they would have these tiny peppers that I just loved. They were hot and I never knew what they were now I'm confident they were Chile Pequin. Thank you
My fav mexican market makes a roasted salsa verde that is phenomenal. However a 16 oz size is $5. I tried hacking the recipe and it wasnt even close. The cashier told me the secret was a lot of garlic. After watching your video, I think I figured out they dont use tomatillos at all! I believe they roast poblanos and then blend the jalapenos, garlic and serrano. Thanks Ernie!! I believe you helped me hack their recipe. Yours looks delicious too!!
I'm glad you made these. Reminds me of my childhood in south Texas! By the way, my wife said to me after the video " wow, I didn't know there were other people in the world who ate salsa on everything!" Yes, yes I do! Lol. Thanks again. Keep up the great videos.
Looks amazing. I like to add white onion and cilantro and black pepper. Sometimes, spoon of vinegar. You really cant go wrong anyway as long as its fresh with a bowl of hot chips and cold beers
7PM...Going put 2 lbs of cachetes w/ seasonings in my old slow cooker to cook on low overnight for some barbacoa tacos in the morning. After I get it started, I'll be making your salsa verde to go with my tacos! Man, can't wait! ¡ Gracias, Podnah !
I grew 2 varieties of "no heat" habaneros this year, one called Habanada and the other one called Roulette...they are amazing in that they have all the tropical fruity flavor but no heat...however I love a bit of heat, so I add a regular habanero when I cook with them.
Arnie, I have to try these, solely because I have tried several salsa recipes and yours is the one that hit it out if the park and tasted like the salsa I get at my favorite restaurant!
Brother Arnie! Man, am I ever glad I found you on RUclips! There’s this Mexican restaurant here in NW Arkansas that makes the best salsa verde I’ve ever had. I asked for the recipe and they said it was tomatillos, jalapeño, garlic, cilantro and onion. No matter how I made it, I could never get the taste of theirs. I pretty much gave up until I found your recipe - ALL jalapeño and garlic. I made your recipe and BOOM, that’s the taste I was looking for! The particular flavor I was looking for was the jalapeños! I’ve made it now several times and have shared with friends and they tell me I should make it and sell it!!! I make it every week now and eat most of it, and share some of it. I’m an ole south Texas boy myself. I was born in Aransas Pass. Lives in Corpus also. My dad moved us to Arkansas when I was in High school. Anyway, I watch you all the time now. Thanks for all the help, advice and recipes!!!
I like the green. Especially on a potato, egg and cheese taco. Both of these IMO are great for seasoning what's on your plate and not for chips n salsa normally as they are so intense. But, have fun with them! So easy
Long story but I started to use just a little bit of xanthan gum in my salsas that are gonna be in the fridge for awhile. They don't separate and get so runny. I'll make a big batch and freeze it and that really gets ruuny. Xanthan gum helps. Nice recipes by the way!
Hello sir, I made your salsa today, and OMG😮😮😮😮😮. Soooooo good! I did add a bit of cilantro, I love cilantro. Thank you.. You have forever changed my way of making salsas 😊. Have a great weekend. 👍♥️
Delicious! Made this and quite a few of your other recipes for a Mexican feast today and it all came out amazing! I made refried beans, barbacoa especial, roja salsa, verde salsa, your momma’s Spanish rice, and guacamole! Your recipes aren’t much different than my own but I’m always down to try something new and I’d never made barbacoa before which is how I found you in the first place. Everything was amazing! 🧡
I like your videos, it brings back good memories of helping mi pobresita mama en la cocina. I don't think I could handle the straight jalapeño + serrano salsa verde. But I bet if I snuck in a tomatillo or two when no one was looking, I'd be good to go. Thanks for sharing!
I made this salsa verde tonight and it was straight 🔥🔥🔥delicious fresh taste with nice heat. Since I didn’t need a lot just 2 large jalapeños and 2 Serranos and 3 cloves of garlic with some SPG did the trick. Wonderful stuff thanks for this recipe! Subscribed!
Yum yum yum. Great & simple. O, in case anybody needs to know how to cut the spiciness when the chili is too spicy.. Sal. Pour a little hill of salt onto your palm then, do it into your mouth. Mix it around & round until it cools out down then, get rid of it.. Tu sabes.
I watched the premiere, and i cant wait to make that verde salsa!! A lot of restaurants around me make their verde milder, im not sure why! I love serranos, so im definitely making it your way!
There's a taco truck local to my area that has Taco Thursday every week, so my family and I eat there almost every week. Recently I asked them for some extra spicy salsa. I'm pretty sure what they gave me was pretty close to the verde you made. I like some kick, but that stuff lit me up 🤣🤣
Thanks Arnie, awesome videos, your mom reminds me of how my grandma cooks and makes the same dishes, i wonder if there from the same region of Durango MX, small town named la Palestinea….. anyway i like my salsa verde to be tangy or sour, it hard to explain but its like biting into a a green lemon with a hint of spicy, i can never get that restaurant flavor I’m looking for any tips?!?!? Have a great day.
I did the same until I started smoking the tomatoes ( I take the skin off the tomatoes after smoking ), onion, garlic and Aji lemon peppers right on the grill grates. Nombre Chut Up, believe me when I say smoking the vegetables really takes the salsa to another delicious level.
Made the green salsa just now. It is seriously hot! It has a nice "pure chile" taste to it, and I can't wait to eat it on some food later tonight. It's borderline too hot to be a "chips and salsa" kind of salsa (for me). Con cuidado, people.
Lol when you’re choking on the fumes 😂 reminds me of my mom not warning anyone with her salsa making and we all wake up choking 😂
Lmao 😂 haha I have to run out the house
😂😂😂I miss that choking and smell. My mom was the same way lol they never warned us. But I was always happy because we were getting some bomb food 😋 😂.
Its always fun to mace yourself out of the kitchen cooking peppers xD
Is she so thorny?
gotta love jalapeno steam.

I like it with tomatillos and a couple of poblanos. I like to roast the peppers, onion and garlic until they get some char.
@@josephsmith961 Ive never added poblanos to my salsa verda. Thats a great idea!

Sorry for your loss amigo.
Best Mexican food ever. Everything I have made from this channel is outstanding.
Thank you for this video!
I fell in love with Hatch green chilies in New Mexico while working on the Navajo Reservation.
I love your humor and your free spirit

same. If they don't have salsa, I automatically ask for jalapenos, or if it's an Asian restaurant, I ask for extra curry.
One of my new favorite channels!!!
Looks amazing. I like to add white onion and cilantro and black pepper. Sometimes, spoon of vinegar. You really cant go wrong anyway as long as its fresh with a bowl of hot chips and cold beers
Love me some salsa verde! Making that this weekend. 64 years old and spicy keeps me young. Greetings from Minnesota my friend.
My mom makes the salsa with the chili paquin. It is still one of my favorites 😍 ❤️.
Love tasting all your salsas❤❤❤
I love how passionate you are about your food.

Can't wait to make this for my husband- he is going to love it! All those jalapenos and serranos!
I grew up in the RGV. Tu salsas me recuerdan el sabor de casa. Gracias.

Made my first tacos and made these 2 salsas for it 😋👌 I had to tone it down slightly because it was soo hot, but absolutely delicious.
Love your “pepper dance.” Wow…boom!
I made the green, but I removed the seeds being as I can’t have nuts or seeds. It was still pretty spicy but delicious. Thanks.
I am a believer, great recipes, great presentation.
I like that " frank the tank " dance 🕺 thanks for sharing your the man arnie 😎

I make similar salsas, and love to roast my garlic...looks amazing!
One compliments the other!!!!🤗🤗🤗
Yes! I’m getting into cooking, and I’m trying to be as authentic as possible and wanted to go Mexican next. Thanks it looks delicious 😋
Thanks for the videos always good! Love them salsa's!!!!!!
Someone who actually uses chiles instead of filler. Love to see it!
You already know what you are missing with that salsas , Fajita taco bro 🤘🥩
Just made this but with tomatillos and came out amazing
Love your take on the verde👌
Will try all these

Yes it sure does , mocachete is the best with smoke or jus grill peppers
I love him, his energy. New subscriber here 🎊 🍾🎉🥰
Huevos rancheros with that salsa now that’s my kinda breakfast 😋

I love me some good salsa…many ways to prepare
I like the boiling, I usually broil but will try this
Bring on the heat! Glad I found your channel 😊
Dude I love your channel !
Yummy Recipes, I like the thickness of green salsa 😋 maybe after it's made, I'll throw in ur dance:) Gracias
You know it’s good when u dance when u eat lol I gotta try this!
I think I'd prefer to combine both recipes!
Nice job Arnie...these are just what I need for my salsa recipes.!

Darnit I gotta get a blender. Thanks for the recipe.
I like the flavor of the Jalapeno more than the heat.
Looking to make a green salsa and came here… cause u cook great stuff.
trying this tonight.
Dang man! Reminds me of what my grand father used to say, "well you'll never be wormy." lol
