YES! I'm reading X-Men comics again. It's good to be back! Excited for all these new changes in the Marvel Universe and see where they lead. It's also good to be back on RUclips. I've been teaching myself to shoot and edit over the past few weeks and am gearing up to begin WAR CLUB starting 04.19.2020. Based on Robert Green's 33 Strategies of War, War Club will teach you how to more successfully deal with conflict in your everyday life. Hope to see you in class :D

Apocalypse. Is. Not. Adorable. He is eternal. I wouldn't get too attached. I'm pretty sure there's one more universe reset coming from Moira. The story is fun, but there's a sinister-ness to it all. Something is off. The X-Men aren't really behaving like themselves, Resurrection is a bit strange, gladiator games, rebirth rituals, the economic manipulation... I think it's going to come down and be a full Marvel universe reboot... Assuming Marvel survives this.
Tbh I'm glad Danika is back to doing comic books talks. She breaks these down in a really casual , consumable way and I really enjoy / appreciate that.
Not acknowledging Dazzler is Omega - per Hickmans definition - or that she doesn't need The Five to resurrect stinks. Yet another era that she is being sidelined when she should be getting overdue development and key face time.
D M what about what Bendis did with her in HOM, I think she was the most famous person in the world. She became a celebrity, possibly at the cost of her powers though

Tbf he hasn really acknowledged her at all. Theres a billion mutants Hickman has to balance and place in this new status quo but I bet we'll get to Dazzler eventually.

I was so happy to see this. My daughter and I (she is 13) have been re-watching all of your early X-Men vids just this week for the 4th time (we are both fans) and to see you doing another round is so great. It's what brought us to your channel to begin with and feels like its coming back full circle. Incidentally, we loved your X-Men and Phoenix videos about a thousand times more than the Fox stuff.
It's so great to see the X-Men as a whole back to A-list status. I'm curious though: how did things turn out for mutants in Moira's first 2 lives? Could Moira's involvement be part of the problem? Her first life was perfectly normal, and as a result, we don't know how things went down. The world seemed pretty peaceful, and you'd think something like mutants rising to prominence or being wiped out would be a major newsworthy event that she would recall. Ditto for her 2nd life where she dies on a plane heading to Xavier after he outs himself as a mutant. Given his interview seemed similar to the one he gave in Morrison's run, I guess we can assume certain events that we've seen in the comics did happen? Or was it drastically different? Either way, I've got faith in Hickman, and this is the most fascinating the X-Men have been in 10 years.
I was tearing up when the mutants are celebrating and Dazzler is putting on a light show. Thank you for making me excited about reading X-Men again Mr. Hickman.

I'm glad to hear you being positive about the X-Men again. When you said recently that the X-Men are back at Disney but by the time they make a movie that *super hero movies will be so played out* that who gives a f*ck, it was a real downer. *Bald Danika seems far more happy and positive* about a lot of things and I'm loving it.
This is pretty much exactly my experience with the X-Men over the past few years. I picked up an issue every so often just to see if it was getting any better, and for a long time it just wasn't. Now Hickman's on it and suddenly it's back, it's fun to be an X-Men fan again. I just wish it wasn't dependant on the corporate bullshit with Disney and Fox blowing over. What if years from now Disney decides the X-Men aren't marketable enough, will the comics start dropping off all over again? It's so fickle and vexing.

I completely agree with your opinion on Giant Size X-Men Jean/Emma Frost. I had the exact same reaction reading it. It was okay but really did just feel like a rehash of a story I've already read but not done as well. Sad because I was REALLY looking forward to it more than any other X-title because I love Jean and Emma. I was hoping for lots of dialogue and seeing what the relationship between the two of them is like on Krakoa but of course there is no dialogue so that was sad. Unfortunately I don't think there is going to be an issue 2 for Jean and Emma because each of the Giant Size issues focus on a different character. The next one is Nightcrawler then the third is Magneto and after that I think it's Storm. Other than that though I'm loving Hickman's wild X-ride and can't wait for more.
Finally! Your X-Men coverage is the best. I'm loving the Dawn of X. Marauders is so good, definitely check that title out. Glad to see this video posted.

Danika, I am glad you really liked the series. It's always nice to see something make you happy. I was less than enthused. I thought the Moira MacTaggart mutant reveal was the best part of the story and there was a lot that kept my interest. However, I hated the fact that apparently the X-Men have become separatist supremacists who have broken death. I don't like where things are going, but I am dart in and out and see if something holds my attention.

I read this after "The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August" by Claire North, so I was down with reincarnation as a way to reset the world. I'm also glad they skipped over the incredulity of all of the mutants being on the same side (except for Sabertooth) and got right into the story. I don't feel weird for rooting for Apocalypse now.

I read House of X and Powers of X, and it is amazing. Reading Marauders and Excalibur and they are really good. The only thing I don’t like is how Jean Grey is going by Marvel Girl with the dated 60s costume. I prefer her X-Men Red Costume with the coloration they used for her one shot with Emma Frost.
personally i think one of two thing is happening at marvel. the new writers have never actually read the old comics. or they are treating the comics as their personal fanfiction to say i can do it better. personally i would bet on the former given the disdain some of the writers show for the canon. also look at the event coming of the teen hero registration act, it's clearly a ripoff of the mutant registration act and super hero registration act storyline and they keep saying it's never been done. 400 N. Foothill Drive, Yreka, California 96097 they really should have hired you a long time ago. i hope theirs still a marvel or a comic book industry after this viruses ends.
At no other point in history has anybody given a shit about “canon” when it came to critically assessing a work of art. If anything we have a bunch of writers these days that are truly appreciating the freedom that comes with telling stories and writing fiction. No writer should trip themselves up with half a century of fictional history unless they really really want to. Not everyone needs to be a Grant Morrison. A good story is a good story.

Back when I was growing up in the 90s the xmen were EVERYTHING. Avengers were no where to be found. It's nice to see them get the respect they deserve. Btw I haven't seen you in a while but you look great with a shaved head. I would never be able to pull this look off haha
I love this new X-Men run. I’m collecting multiple titles. Great fun and drama. My only big complaint was with Giant-Size Nightcrawler. Kurt is in it, but is not the star. While I like Jean in her green dress, I do agree that being called Marcel Girl is weird. At least upgrade to Marvel Woman like Sue did in the Byrne’s FF run.

Back when I was growing up in the 90s the xmen were EVERYTHING. Avengers were no where to be found. It's nice to see them get the respect they deserve.

I love this new X-Men run. I’m collecting multiple titles. Great fun and drama. My only big complaint was with Giant-Size Nightcrawler. Kurt is in it, but is not the star. While I like Jean in her green dress, I do agree that being called Marcel Girl is weird. At least upgrade to Marvel Woman like Sue did in the Byrne’s FF run.
Goldballs first appearance was in Uncanny X-Men # 1 written by Brian Michael Bendis, not Jason Aaron's Wolverine and the X-Men..
