This is such a silly argument. Yes. CSGO took a while to get going. You know what CSGO didn't do? Remove it's predecessor. Even if we entertain the idea that CS2 is going to be perfect in just 2 more weeks, the problem lies in the fact that it removed an objectively better version of the game, relegated it to a "beta" legacy slot with no support. So after 10 years we have a sequel that removes it's predecessor, and is somehow more broken and has less content than the game it replaced. This is the problem. If CS2 was a separate game, and CSGO was still treated like an actual game, there wouldn't be any issue. Players could choose to play the shiny new unfinished mess, or they could stick with CSGO until CS2 is actually finished and brings something new to the table except lighting and worse performance.
Valve was already a big, strong company since Half Life 2 and their episodes were released. Portal and Left 4 Dead duology cemented their already strong stage presence. No excuses for this...

I hate it when people say "This game is X years old, why do you care?" There's no timer to this kind of media, and anyone using that as a justification for laziness on Valve's part is wrong.
My main problem with removing csgo is that you basically throw away 10 years of work on the game. In the beginning I was “they will add everything back in next year or so” and then I realized how stupid this thinking is, the game is not in beta anymore, its over 120 days since full release and there is 0! new content. They’ve remade Italy and they won’t even let you play normal match on the map. This is ridiculous.

Relating to your comment about CS gameplay not evolving over 2 decades, it reminds me of how Quake used to be the ultra competitive PC game everyone would completely sweat over and was the standard for FPS games. I think CS overtook arena shooter games like Quake because the original mod developers made an FPS more palatable for noobs to try. They (tried) to remove advanced movement, the need for map knowledge/item spawns with the round format, and making shooting while moving inaccurate. Whenever I introduced someone to Quake, the initial experience of getting destroyed by better players was much more punishing for them as compared to a public 1.6 server where playing like a headless chicken could work.
I would say it's tragic that CS got as big as it did, while Quake died like a dog. Arena shooters are sick. And if people wanted to play one that's noob friendly they could always play TF2. The thing that always strikes me when i play CS is just how sluggish the movement is. TF2 has the best movement in any game ever so it's not a problem with the source engine, it's just that CS intentionally puts you on a leash.

@@cs2gecko csgo doesnt need to be officially supported anymore. They left it in a pretty functional state, and no RCE exploits. This might not be a solution at all, but you could try surfing on tf2, it's functionally the same or on csgo if you find any servers.
The point isn't the graphics dude, it's the fact that a relatively stable and polished game was sacrificed on the altar for an objectively inferior version of it with pretty graphics. In no sane world should that be acceptable, fans shouldn't have to get content taken from them only to wait months for it to return through a scummy drip-feed system.
"this is the most immoral, unethical..." yeah, literally worse than Hitler. CSGO players had it worse than jews also, the whole point of the video hinges on the implication that CS2 is a separate game and not an update+rebranding
Then if it was an update, which it is, why call it CS2? Why number it? Can "Counter Strike 2" be called the legendary sequel of Counter Strike when all it did is run worse than CSGO did? Why rebrand a game that's been out for a decade as a sequel? The unwritten rule is that titles with a number after them designate something new. Quake 1 is not Quake 4. Dishonored 1 is not Dishonored 2. Doom 1 is not Doom 3. Far Cry 1 is not Far Cry 2. And perhaps the most prominent example: Team Fortress 1 is not Team Fortress 2. The same way words have value, so do numbers, and you can't just throw them willy nilly just cause someone felt like it.

Csgo isn't even officially supported anymore.
They could have launched CS2 as a separate game, csgo also took a long time to get the player base to move over because go was a buggy less polished mess as well, slow and gradually Stress Testing the game further instead of forcing everyone in would have been the move.
But a reason I shit on Valve, they broke surfing with an update 💀
@@cs2gecko csgo doesnt need to be officially supported anymore. They left it in a pretty functional state, and no RCE exploits. This might not be a solution at all, but you could try surfing on tf2, it's functionally the same or on csgo if you find any servers.
The point isn't the graphics dude, it's the fact that a relatively stable and polished game was sacrificed on the altar for an objectively inferior version of it with pretty graphics. In no sane world should that be acceptable, fans shouldn't have to get content taken from them only to wait months for it to return through a scummy drip-feed system.
"this is the most immoral, unethical..."
yeah, literally worse than Hitler. CSGO players had it worse than jews
also, the whole point of the video hinges on the implication that CS2 is a separate game and not an update+rebranding
@@richardwatson1254 second to cs source.
Also it runs good idk whats your issue is
That little comment on the top right corner at 0:30 is perfect. This dude is such a piece of shit, jesus.
@@richardwatson1254 Im pretty sure the source 2 is meant to be like "Hey, its on source 2" cause thats like, a really big thing they were probably proud of
@@ViatorsPathain't nobody proud of cs2
You don't actually own any of the games you purchase on Steam. They reserve the right to delete or change any of the games at any time for any reason

@@GODber777 Its extremely scummy for valve to do that but its legit in their TOS from what I heard. No wonder multiple lawsuits tried fucking with them. We bought our games not rent them.
I don't care if it's in the terms. Loopholes are scummy "legal" or not
Do you let corporate executives fuck your wife in your bed?
Sick of this, you will own nothing and like it, attitude
21 minutes of ranting Jesus. I get your point but it’s valves game and they get to do what they want because they made the game, they don’t care about the community we’re all just toxic assholes anyway.
We need to make our own maps and servers.
