I think that only active duty cases should be rentable, that gives 5 cases to choose from while still ensuring that opened items will have have demand.
There is no way to check that though. Current unboxing figures are estimated based on database entries, while renting doesn’t provide any data which makes it impossible to estimate the amount, and valve themselves most likely wont publish the numbers either
I think its a possibility that the next case will have rental opportunities and that kilowatts will be removed, so only the current new case offers that option
You mentioning how expensive some of those cases made me realize even if they made them rentable it would probably change nothing, and cases like Gamma, Spectrum, Glove are only opened for the rare special item anyway
truly i tweeted the same day that this will help the skin market grow in the future, and i was holding 10 black lotus st fn and inheritance aks. luckily their price wasn't affected due to them being ST
0:50 Slight correction, these aren’t weapon reskins, these are weapon unlocks. TF2 did not have the weapon drop system (CS2’s weekly reward equivalence) at the time so these early crates were the only way to acquire the new weapons. Valve realized that this is Pay2Win and made it so all weapon unlocks obtainable for free through normal gameplay. These crates are notorious for giving players essentially free items they pay for which is partially the reason why these crates are retired and no longer obtainable through drops.
Why would it make skin prices drop, you're basically using up 1 case ang getting 0 REAL skins, since they disappear after a week, so at the end there's going to be less skins and less cases, making them rarer, so if 50% of people choose to rent the skins instead of actually opening the case, there's 50% less skins at the end of rhe day, and people get to try skins they otherwise could not afford, win-win (or the more likely option is that I'm stupid and my prediction doesn't hold up lol)
ye it's really good long term burner of value. People dont understand this yet but there will be millions of $ burned each years. My only dream is that they do the rent system to all cases.
@@ertohsp8650As someone with a lot of older skins this isn't my dream. I'm confident that the renting option will only apply to the cases from now on.
Renting is fine if it increases the consumption of supply number. The Steam market as we know it won't last forever you know, nothing last forever and it is quite a miracle that it last so long already.
this is exactly whats going on, valve defending their assets and indirectly your investments
I dont care i would like a more cheater free game ...
@@GardenofEdensyou can have both.

it going to be interesting to see how many cases are being opened just to rent, I would love to see the numbers on that

@@kr1s. exactly, maybe some day but I don't have high hopes on valve releasing any statement on that

i believe the kilowatt was the best case to rent out. It has both the m4s, an usp, an awp and an AK. plus they all look so good.

No it changes a lot supply decreases from receiving nothing but a temporary item and prices get higher
Dude your videos recently have been SOOOO GOOD!!!
Are you still holding them 1000s of clutch cases? Just wondering how the investment is going
Hey Ptree, one clarification. The x-ray is only active in France. Cases & Containers are completely disabled in Belgium & the Netherlands
Wanted to comment the same thing. Renting skins is now available for all 3 countries however
Totally agree, valve playing the long game
money laundering will catch up some day, you'll be always right selling than not.

honestly, just happy I can get some skins for cheap even for a short time.
It is not only a problem for gambling as gambling but also because the huge flow of money generates laundering stratagems from third parties.

This bullshit they just want more money ,you are way to nice to valve, don't compare our og times to 2024
@@ertohsp8650They probably will only do it for every case that will come out from this point.
glad you put Moe on blast.... my skins are down 10% in the past week
the way you put this video together is really interesting and engaging, looking forward to more!
Well said! 👏👏👏
They’re going to hike up the price on this feature to be like two keys
And people won’t install sell their cases as much they’ll do this and they’ll be even rarer on updates
This was a great vid, ty
i was hoping for that we can rent our own skins from the inventory..
Quality content as always
Case hardened looks like it should be worth a few dollars, looks so mid ngl.
Valve fucked steam market
You mean they made steam market
They should pull the major from china.
Nice video. Liked the ending!
great video
imagine spending over 0,5 euro on skins.. my main csgo account have about 0,6 euro in total :P renting feels like a waste of money!
