    Outrageously cool. Engine sounding great too. Thanks so much for sharing this fantastic aircraft without music.

    Beautiful aircraft. I really like the early Albatross without the nose spinner and the radiator mounted directly over the pilot, ensuring a good soaking in scalding hot water in the event of any damage. The pilot also had the excitement of not knowing when the upper wing was going to detach during flight. A machine for brave men.

      detachment of the wing did not happen with oeffag d3s. they were better built with thicker spars than the German d3s. scalding water yes

    Just to realize such a feat is extraordinary ! This was Richtoffen's first fighter... at the time, he was flying with Boelke, his teacher. Amazing ! Thank you for your years of effort to bring this to fruition !!! A look back to 104 years in the past ! A wonderful flying machine !

      Richthofen's first fighter in Jasta 2 Boelcke was Albatros D.II, a true biplane with two-spar lower wing and parallel wing strut arrangement. He swapped it on his first D.III (sesquiplane-type wing layout with "vee" struts) on January 1917, when he took command over Jasta 11.

    Always loved the Albatros. But this model is the best. I like how the OEF built birds had that bullet nose with the bare prop attached to the front of it, no spinner cone. Also, they look great with the guns faired-over for a more streamlined look. During the war though, it wasn’t favorable due to needing to access those guns in flight due to stoppages.
    Excellent work here guys! She’s a beauty!

      I agree this was the best looking Albatros model without the spinner, it just looks better than the German built birds IMO.

    und OBENLIEGENDE NOCKENWELLE SAMT VIERVENTILTECHNIK - und das im 1. Weltkrieg!

      Schon ziemlich beeindruckend, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass das alles schon über 100 Jahre her ist und das Flugzeug zum damaligen Zeitpunkt noch keine 20 Jahre alt war. Technik die auch heute noch begeistert. Und dazu dieser Sound.

    Joseph Kiss?

    • @thethirdman225
      @thethirdman225 3 года назад +1

      No, I don't think so. Kiss mostly flew with a big letter "K" just behind the cockpit. I think this was the personal aircraft of Oblt. Franz Rudorfer.

    • @joseantonioplaza8596
      @joseantonioplaza8596 3 года назад +1

      @@thethirdman225 I think you are right. Kiss flew one albatross depicted with a big white K over a blue and red medal-style painting. I don't have access to my miltary books at this moment but your reflection brought me the recall. Thanks for the comment!
