That back and forth on guitar between Don Felder and Joe Walsh is arguably the greatest instrumental conversation in the history of music. Legendary.
Nice analogy.
Right you are sir
No doubt
Absolutely!
It was real back then now Don lip syncs
The EAGLES are commonly called AMERICA'S ROCK BAND!! And they have earned that name!!!
I live in SOUTH AMERICA and for me EAGLES is THE BEST WORLD ROCK BAND or THE BEST SPACE ROCK BAND.
RIP Glenn Frey & Randy Meisner.
I can listen to this song every single day.
This song is still best last 40 years
🎼There was nobody like the Eagles. Nobody!❤️❤️🦅🦅
I love the Eagles....but I like Dire Straits more.
@@Gabrielnobre
🎼I love them both. Some music never gets old. Never!
Sweet Randy with the high notes. 🥹 RIP.
The individual talent of these guys is off the charts. The Eagles don't have a bad song❤ Peace out ✌️ ☮️
The audience tells you right away what a landmark song this is.
The greatest Eagles songs ever
What a pleasure to watch your smile as you listen to real music ♥️
5.17.24. The addition of Joe Walsh©️ put them over the top … In my opinion🎸
that's true in my opinion too
Joe Walsh is more of a better solo artist. For me the one that put Eagles on top is Don Felder. He wrote all the music for Hotel California including the bass, drum patterns and guitar.
I was 17 when this song came out and feel blessed to have grown up during that time!
I was six when it came out, and even at that young age can remember hearing it everywhere you went that year.
Oh yeah, the music of my day’s in High School. In fact I graduated in 1977.
1975 here, i feel ya brother
I actually cried when I just heard this. I've heard this song 300 times and I wish we could hear more material like this again.
Try Tool. Lateralus. And Chris Whitley-Terra Incognita or War Crime Blues.
OMG, the greatest guitar duo in the history of rock!!!
The Eagles are so talented.
Don Henley was a member of Linda Rondstat's band. When he expressed an interest in starting his own band, she not only gave her blessing, she helped build the band that became the Eagles.
Actually It was Glen Frey's idea to form the Eagles. Henley has stated this multiple times calling Glen "The Capitan of the Ship" and "It was Glen's band from the start".
Ive been listening to American pop music for approaching 60 years. This may be my favorite tune of all time.
We don't call that pop music. It's pure rock'n'roll. ;)
Brilliant Band, they were always on the radio when i was growing up love there music👍👍
Don Henley was the encompass for which their success was founded on...❤
This song has some of the strongest lyrics in any song ever, "they stab it with their steely knives but cannot kill the beast" and " you can checkout any time you like but you can never leave". Really hard to top those lyrics.
I remember buying this album. Blew my mind and was always played loud. Girls with big hair and tight jeans liked it as well………good old 70’s……..
I never tire of watching people react to this for the first time!! I love it! Great choice and great reaction. 🌺✌️
You have a beautiful soul. You can recognize quality. Don Henley was the drummer. They all sing and write music. Many hits in this group.
Congratulations on discovering them.
Take care.
It's such a pleasure to watch you hear this, knowing that that guitar duet and ending was coming.
You should check out the song take it to the limit same concert song by Randy meisner of the bass player
This is probably one of the most fast and best guitar performances in any song. The lead singer (DON HENLEY) is one of the two best singer/drummer's ever!!! He has an amazing solo career too!!!!
Don Henley and Phil Collins are usually thought of as Vocal Drummers... but lots forget about one that came before... Levon Helm.
@@markmyers6472and Karen Carpenter
Karen was actually the best drummer and best singer of the 3
Pure joy.... looking exceptionally beautiful today ❤
Hiya Sarah! And thanks for another great show ive always enjoyed your work...so Hotel California eh, awesome and great pick! That incredible album came out during my high school years they literally blew up the music scene with this album as well as all their others. 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Awesome reaction. Love it when you feel the song.
When this came out, I was 7. My best friend lived across a field from me, I visited one morning and when I walked in, his sister Lisa, was kneeling in front of the stereo (record player/radio/8-track deck) and this song was just starting. I was raised on country music until that point and had no idea what I was hearing. I thought it was magic for the ears. Lisa said, "No Mikey, that's the Eagles". I was very suddenly into rock and roll.
This song is about an adolescent who crosses that line into adulthood with all it's perks and responsibilities. Once you are an adult, you can't go back to that innocence again.
Great Reaction to this Classic and Awesome Band...... All the Band Members were so talented....
Everyone would take turns singing lead on songs and everyone sang harmony......
The song is an allegory on coming to California and getting involved in the music business, and how it traps you. "I was thinking to myself, this could be heaven or this could be hell." "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!"
Lol, pointing out those exact lines should tell you it's about drugs
The singer/drummer is Don Henley, he wrote the lyrics to this song. The Eagles had serveral hit songs in the 1970's. Listen to song One of these nights by them. -Duke
IS THIS REAL?....YES.
IS THERE ANYTHING BETTER?....NOPE
Saw them live in early 2000's they're unbelievable, every song is a banger.
For me this is the best song ever
If you love harmony, try the Eagles "Seven Bridges Road". My favorite is "Wasted Time", lots of tears fell on that record...
Beautiful...
Yes! Seven Bridges road!! DEFINITELY a acapella classic!!
Yes, Wasted Time and The Last Resort, two lyrical gems on the one album
Before you even seen it, I know you love this song. Even more it will be the best song you ever heard!! This song has one of the best guitar solos ever written too!!
I nearly wore out my original LP. So fine.
The dual guitars at the end make it worth the wait.🤩🤩
I love it...! 🙂 You arrived at THEEE song of my youth. There were many, but this was the one -- and in a way, it still is, though there are even many more now. I loved your reaction. ❤
All the very best from Germany
So was Joe Walsh and Gary Carter 'My guitar gently sleeps.
It's MAGIC
Queen's drummer also sings - A LOT.
ty ty ty
Take It Easy by Eagles is a must listen. Love your reactions Sarah. ❤
The point of the song is about people coming to Hollywood to be successful and getting entrapped by the fancy lifestyle etc. and not being able to get out of it. This song is iconic in many ways including the drummer as the lead singer but it is also one of the very few songs that the guitar solo is at the end. Joe Walsh's face when he is playing opposite Don Felder is priceless! Thanks! with
Great reaction, pure talent, just them. My generation had some incredible creative music. Miss it.
If you haven't already, listen to the Eagles "Take it to the Limit".
Had the great privilege of seeing them perform this live in concert.
Me Too.........Right Up Front, While They Were Taping This.........Fucking Magic 🤩✌
It's a great song and another personal favorite Eagles song of mine is: Desperado, though all their songs are among the best written.
Old song that hit the world global for livetimes.
You need to hear the eagles, seven Bridges road!! Trust me!! You will love it!!
Yeah, I'm always amazed at drummers who are lead singers... You have to be in top shape to do that.
Yep, great song.
The guitars are awesom.
Don Felder is the genius behind this guitar part.
Joe Walsh is a genius all the time.
Great stuff, thanks Sarah.
👊😁💪❤️
Not only guitar part. He himself said in an interview that he wrote the bass part and choose the drum patterns. DF is a genius for this.
@@devilsstrikegaming8695 absolutely 👍💪
On this particular song you have
Don Felder. Lead vocals / drums
Glenn Frey acoustic guitar/ vocals
Randy Meisner bass / vocals
Joe Walsh lead guitar / vocals
Don Felder double neck lead guitar/ vocals
Just a wonderful reaction from you, sweet Sarah. ❤
Yep. It's awesome to see these guys live.
Give a listen to "Take it Easy," "Peaceful Easy Feeling" or "New Kid in Town" in concert if you can. All great songs with great live performances available to see.
The singer Don Henley also had a solo career. The heart of the matter, The last worthless evening are a couple react to some l think you’ll like them
Absolutely LOVE your reactions Sarah. The joy you express at this song is so uplifting. I've listened to this for around fifty years, still my favourite (along with Desperado)
An unbelievable great song that gets better with time . Let's enjoy this again. Note the drummer singing lead.
He is not the only one, and neither the first drummer that is the vocalist. For example, Phil Collins was vocalist of Genessis after Peter Gabriel left the band, and probably the best drummer vocalist in history was Karen Carpenter.
In young generations you can find Paulina Villarreal, composer, drummer and sometimes vocalist of The Warnings.
Beautiful reaction ❤
Eagles are so deep in catalog, it’s amazing. Harmonies to die for, guitars that mezmerize, and each band member are miraculously talented. ❤ PLAY MORE PLEASE!
Such a talented band, amazing performance..........

The Eagles can thank Linda Ronstadt for helping them to gain a foothold and get their start. She is another GOAT singer!
Live recordings are amazing sometimes...There is another one that I discovered from the recent past. A band I had never hear of before called The Gathering, whose lead singer Anneke van Giesbergen is/was so incredible and real lwegend.. She left the band to become a mother and then, start a solo career. The song I recommend comes from her ferewell tour with The Gathering. And the audience is fantastic, too...This is fun! And hold onto your hat!.. The song is called "On Most Surfaces" from The Gathering- On Most Surfaces (A Noise Severe DVD) live 2007
Sarah, you are the best..👍
This is the music I grew up on. The Eagles were a great 70's band with so many hit songs. They were known for their great harmonies. "Take It Easy", "Lyin' Eyes", "Witchy Woman", "Desperado", "Already Gone", "Best of My Love", "One Of These Nights", "Take It To The Limit", "New Kid In Town" etc. Before they went solo they were the back up band for Linda Ronstadt.
Wow you are just mentioned my fav songs ever. Love them❤❤❤
I saw them in London back then. They were SO good! 🙂 aaah golden days! A perfect song
Peaceful Easy Feeling is another great one for harmonies.
Top 10 rock song of all time.
I heard those two guitars eloped after this show.
Great reaction!
Feels like Reggae, what a coincidence the working title to this song before the lyrics were written was "Mexican Reggae". Good ear!
Love your expressions.looked like you enjoyed the song.
The song is really about the excess’s and trappings of California and the lifestyle there.Getting caught up in all that goes with fame be it in the music industry or Hollywood.Definitely one of the best songs ever, and the band is fantastic, great work.
This is an extraordinary group they all play ,write and sing lead depending on the song you need to check out lots more of this group Desperado,Lying Eyes, Take it to the Limit,Take it Easy ,Wasted Time ,The Last Resort) my fav) and Tequila Sunrise all all excellent choices many many more
Theres no way witchcraft can produce such perfection. Its how the music makes one feel. Its like in the 70s 80s and 90s for hip hop, every thing just naturally fell into place musically and took us on journeys that still havent ended. We were blessed to " be there." Nice honest reaction.
From a time when they didn't get in a hurry. I saw them in the mid '90's and they were every bit as good. Fantastic. That was a bucket list event for me.
Awesome band and song 👏👏👏
Chord changes and chord resolutions. Done right every human being instinctively knows, regardless of language culture or age. (beside perfect lyrics) Arpeggio duet at the end ain't too shabby either. And what about the 1/2 second delay between "you can never leave" and the start of the solo? Oh, yeah Eagles mix quality in live performances equal or better than studio!
You are my favorite ❤reactor!!! You're just honest, and open, and refreshing. Thank you for being you. Have a lovely day, Sarah!! 😊
Did you know strawberry alarm clock lead singer is also the drummer. Song incense and pepper mints
Eagles not blocking! Let's hope it stays that way. Maybe Don has arrived at the 21th century? RIP Glenn.🙏
Finally! Every single other YT reactor to this song totally missed the Reggae influence in this song except you! And I'd actually say that this is more than just "influenced" Every instrument has a reggae feel including the vocal cadence.. I think the reason so many people miss it at first is just because the lyrics are the one thing that is U.S. culture influenced.
one of the many classics ! They came to the UK. many years ago and my wife and I managed to get tickets to see them in Yorkshire England, about an hour from our home. Such was their popularity that the roads were gridlocked, and as we were running along the road to the Stadium, we heard the opening intro to " Hotel California " and by the time we actually got in it was over !!!!! I was gutted !
The Eagles and Genesis were two bands that were both famous for having their drummers as their lead singers.
The Band. Paper Lace. The Monkees. Foo Fighters. The Beatles.
@@clintadams8451
Peter rarely sang for the Monkeys. (Under 25%) And Ringo rarely sang for the Beatles. (Under 25% as well.)
So yes they were singers. Just not “lead singers.”
@@clintadams8451
I confess I never seen the Foo Fighters live. Did Dave Grohl play drums for them?
You are so beautiful. It was a pleasure seeing you enjoy the song. TY.
Check out anytime you want but you can never leave you do know that's a nut house he's singing about
Funny. I was 20 in 77’. Love the Eagles! My reaction every-time
I hear this song is actually pretty close to yours…😊
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥🔥😎

- Moody Blues - "Question" - Royal Albert Hall
Thanks for this !
🎼Lordie Lordie Lordie! I really hope she does this live Moody Blues! I’ve seen these guys live and this is absolutely a “must” for Sarah to do a reaction to.
@@chrisjenkins6120 Well, you know I agree with that!!!
They don’t make them like that anymore. Since then we have been witnessing the slow but sure death of expertise… just so that nobody gets offended. In those days we knew how to appreciate without envy.
A very deep rabbit hole…, besides the fact that most of them went on their own afterwards
Karen Carpenter was a drummer also...The Carpenters.
If you like this, try listening to Allison Krauss and Unsion Station. She plays the fidddle and the lead singer. However, "The Boy Who Won't Corn, she was the back up singer and plays the fiddle. There's a live performance so check it out.. I like your performance. Thank you.
I'm pretty sure that the hotel is a metaphor for the trap of fame received from the music industry back in the 70's.
Huh? How doesn't anyone know that it's a metaphor for drug addiction?
sarah is picking up the subtle reggae vibes by the eagles!!!
Watch that your channel doesn't get a copyright strike... So many RUclips channels have got into trouble playing their music.
I should point out that there is a major controversy over this band and its vocalist here playing live - but in their original context this was one of America's most talented bands. Enough to secure their Greatest Hits an enormous seller.
Don Felder, the guy who wrote the music for this song, also taught Tom Petty how to play guitar in Florida before he became an Eagle. When he was fired from the band for asking what was being done with his share of the money Don Hendley and Glenn Fry tried to cheat him out of his money.
