The fusion rifle pre charge noise got me lmao
I didn't understand what he was doing at first but when I rewind it I started bursting out laughing 😂
As a PK main, I had an eye twitch
@@Rogue_Processwe are an endangered species now😢
@ianmills6260 no you aren't. That exotic is still one of the best titan has and even after the 50% nerf its still nuts, balls even lol
@ShadowNemesis575 I'm saying it's not used much anymore due to smgs being horrid. Its still a fantastic exotics
Some of the Guns that I Enjoy more about this game are Sidearms... And it's been hard to make them work, because each time you enter the optimal space you just flip a coin to see if the enemy has special ammo.
I fucking swear.
I love side arms, and I feel like I can beat SGs or fusions with them. (Sturm and Drang + Blinklock has been super fun this season)
... Until it's a speed boot titan with and oversheild using the SG, then I just die. Or some other combo of cooldowns and 1 shots. It kinda reminds me of the Citan meta from a few years ago where a lot of players will only challenge when they have multiple win conditions lined up, then just hold an angle or lane waiting for those win cons to come back before pushing.
Yeah no kidding. Trying to have fun with my new godroll Autumn today and just getting fusion pre-charged, arc slide 1-shot, smoked/suspended/shotgunned, etc etc etc. And yeah it’s a “skill issue” but I just want to play the fucking game and have fun running around with a sidearm, not sit crouched in my spawn with a fucking Graviton and Knucklehead ffs
Side arm and cerberus+1 is my favorite loadout. It doesn't always work, but when it does it's super fun :)
They need to bring back the special ammo meter. I hate that there's no risk to just shotgun aping and responding with more ammo
5:20 My favorite pulse rifle, **Jade Rabbit**
my favorite scout is Graviton Lance
Its a pulse of 1
Exotic Catalyst: "Isn't this just a pulse rifle?"
Jade Rabbit now fires three shots per trigger pull.
I knew I wasn't crazy lol
it's the answer to bows.
So much of close range feels like its decided by latency at the moment, might just be me or a skill issue. But shots blanking and melee whiffs are just so frustrating to still be dealing with
Exactly. Last week I hit someone and watched their health stay at 25% hp left, then they kill me back while still staying at that 25% and get an over shield. All while im still damaging them to have killed them before the over shield kicked in. I was disgusted because it was another titan and I don't know why they didn't die. It should have been at least a kill trade not them completely surviving and killing me.
Networking has definitely diminished this season; and I’m trying out new things like Albedo Wing with Liminal Vigil on Titan, absolutely fun playstyle… however so many of my shots don’t register with my glaive, let alone all the melee whiffs and other factors that just penalise me for wanting to play cqc.
Cause I’m either too close for my teammates or too far to help out with anything besides bolstering their hyper defensive play.
One thing that feels like it has got more insane over time is the particle effects on abilities. I get you want the stuff to look flashy and cool but sometimes I literally can't even calculate wtf is happening on my screen.
Remember when area of denial frame's first released and it was impossible to see through the damage pool lol
@@majora919 lol YES it is still rough
I said this for years about thunder crash where there is so much fucking particles on the screen you cant see shit and miss
I mean at least lowering graphics settings was already meta 😂
I honestly can’t tell the difference if I’m playing well or not anymore, everything is pretty much insta kill in the crucible to the point it’s become very boring tbh
I absolutely Elsie’s can reach 89 and 90 range and stability, as a super short ttk and crazy peak shooting performance. This is not funny
This community can’t have its cake and eat it. Hearing people moan about it actually annoys me more than the game balance itself.
It’s been 10 years of the circle
@dochedgehog We've reached Forsaken Era Luna's/NF levels of ttk with primaries but it's with pulses from far away now is why. Bungie has learned nothing.
We have to face the truth; Bungie are terrible at balancing. So much so that it is actually embarrassing. What's the most problematic exotic armor pice right now? Yes, it's Knucklehead. Why? Because of wallhacks. Thing is, we already knew that, because wallhacks are a problem every. single. time. OEM, Khepris, OG Sanguine, Wishender etc.
We are in this mess, because even after 10 years they still haven't learned. It's incompetence.
Too many special crutches
I think the big problem that came with prismatic, along with all that Cammy’s mentioned, is the mass walk back on a lot of nerfs through new interactions. I think of the knockout nerf, how it’s change to only heal chunks was essentially buffed on prismatic with the health regen on melee kill fragment, effectively making it better on prismatic and leaving it much worse on arc titan. How the threaded spectre cooldown was nerfed, but remedied on prismatic with the slow dodge now decreasing the cooldown of your dodge when enemies are slowed. How health regen was limited on supers, only for things like devour and the melee healing frag being allowed to essentially fully reset a fight for most supers, and all warlock supers. Bungies essentially dug themselves a hole where nerfing individual aspects makes the light and dark subclasses worse, without considering work arounds that prismatic provides. Buffing things within their kits as well making prismatic more effective. Prismatic as a whole needs a complete seperation in functionality and cooldowns, as it only proves to be a problem for otherwise balanced subclass kits.
Yeah, honestly, prismatic was a mistake for pvp. It completely killed of the reason to use certain subclasses (looking at you stormcaller) and lets not forget; how fun the meta became when everyone threw up swarm and smoke grenades every 10 seconds
Didn’t they revert the nerf to knockout as a whole to regen health?
@ across the board it only heals a chunk of Hp now to my knowledge for the aspect
Knockout and diamond lance is such an annoying combo to deal with. The melee range is still an ez win button, and the diamond lance makes fighting a titan when you hav shit teammates, to punishing.
@@Pandemoniyum I just checked the twab from around October 9th, and melee kills with knockout not only cancel health and shield stun, but still grant a chuck of health depending on enemy rank making it the best it’s ever been. Other than that your comment hit right on the nose for why it’s hard to balance such an intricate sandbox like destiny. The funny thing is how swarms were already fine and just them having be an option on pris led it to be such a problem for as long as it was.
Really enjoyed the “hardcore” game mode they tried in labs. With zero abilities; only gun play.
Would be fun to have it rotate into competitive or even trials for a weekend.
Wait, I need this because I'm so tired of ability spam.
you hit the nail on the head with the comment about leaving balance hostage to the live service tag. It is unbelievably frustrating to play a broken game - and when they get round to the next big patch, they either don't fix the bug, or fix it and introduce new ones in the process. It's been so bad this year that I've just slowly stopped playing. Live service is killing the game because it can never stop for a breather, never do a quality test and never consider the "now" of the game when everything depends on the *next* content drop.
Closing time was a dumb perk idea too. The benefits for just spawning in are ridiculous.
under pressure moment
I wanted to test out some new sidearms i’ve gotten recently, and the amount of times i’ve died to a fusion or shotgun while the enemy is one shot, is infuriating
I was cackling at the intro meme, I want one of those for every weapon meta we've had now. A+ shitposting.
I legitimately think it's because handling is way too high on all special weapons. You can't break anyone's ankles in CQC because they're tracking you with the best in slot OHKO weapons with functionally 100 handling
yeah i totally see this as the easiest nerf they could start with. when that shotgun spawns in your hand in literally 0.13 sec something is not correct.
Funny thing is, the last shotguns to roll with quickdraw is Fract and Seventh Seraph CQC, and it still doesn’t make a difference for how things play out.
I agree, all special weapons should have an intrinsic nerf to Handling, this way people would need to choose between taking a special with QD or other perks to compensate.
Primary needs to have value again, doesn’t need to be a Double Primary meta, it just needs overall strength in areas to which special shouldn’t
That's why I hate people with conditional finality so much. I'm not mad about the pellet bread or the freezer or the ignition or the fact that it shuts down supers easy. It's that stat package on an aggressive frame shotgun is fucking ridiculous
I definitely agree that CQC has effectively died with the overabundance of best in slot special weapons benefitting from high BASE handling and exotics/abilities that also boost it even further. I miss the days when even with ophidians, you still took a while to pull out your special weapons. I'm still optimistic for the sandbox, but it's definitely grim currently.
I know that shotguns are dominant or whatever, but sidearms are also really good right now. Rat king and Forerunner are crimes against humanity. Final warning, boudeca, drang, trespasser, heliocentric (the list goes on) are all 🔥
I think what's frustrating for me is the ammo drop system that came and went. I never really interacted with it because I preferred to use double primary to ammo starve the enemy for so long, that I never really used it when it did come around.
They needed another year of that sandbox to let the balance cook for awhile, but then we jumped right back into the constant barrage of shotguns and fusions. Not necessarily a bad thing, but flip flopping between them has been rough.
Talk about whiplash, into the light had a solid foundation between the checkmate system and the sandbox prior to prismatic
I'll take some close to medium range engagements. Tired of Elsie's, Bygones and Jade Rabbit.
lol you must get killed by bygones a lot
I loooove medium and close range engagements. I am an hc shotty gunslinger player, but I always take primary duels first because my shotgun is a last resort if I'm aped. I am so bored and tired of pulse rifles.
@@humanactivated1017or elsie. that’s all that people use. i hate dad rifle meta so much man
@@turtle420.-.I’m with you on this. However, I opt for using well placed Telesto shots to go against abilities that one shot you from around the corner.
Sorry buddy, but all the dads came home from their construction jobs
As an avid smg player since forsaken that intro has never been more true
One of my absolute most favorite pvp playstyles is Behemoth with PKs, sliding around super fast and breaking ankles. nowadays I cant even use an SMG as everyone and their mother handhold and camp at the back of the map with their 120/aggresive pulse/jade rabbit and if you get close, they either just straight line you with a shotty or start fingering their fusion rifles, its absolutely obnoxious. Last night i ran into so many of those players who would just turn the corner and ape me with their shotty even if i was like 15-20 meters away from them.
There are many more things that I detest in the sandbox as well, such as the presence of all solar abilities doing scorch damage and keeping me out of the fight for 10+ seconds, healing grenades, the fragments on void and prismatic that start your health regen on any melee kill just to name a few. I am also fearing if bungie decides to nerf diamond lance because of prism titan which will also effectively nerf behemoth when the main problem isnt with the diamond lance itself, but how obnoxiously easy it is to get on prism titan.
Me too, feel like half of my deaths I could've literally had aimbot and the shotgun/fusion would still kill me. It's so funny though when someone on a pulse/120 shit talks for me being on an smg.
I had the exact same thing, so infuriating being locked down bij high impact pulse rifles and scouts and the moment you get close just getting fucked by a shotgun or fusion.
I played IB after taking a break for several months. Holy crap, the back-of-the-map handholding was insane
A little optimization wouldn't hurt either. Every melee whiff turns into facepalm it hurts.
I don't even play D2 anymore, but I still enjoy listening to Cammy break down this stuff.
This video felt personal to me because it's basically why I quickly left Destiny once I finished the story and started the first season mission. This is the least I have played after the launch of a major release since Beyond Light and stasis driving me away. Pvp has not been enjoyable to me since The Witch Queen era of crucible. I did not actively play crucible post Lightfall. I moved onto more enjoyable games.
Fusion rifles are
Heavy weapons in the special slot. In COD it would be like a 20 kill streak lol. Coming from other games to Destiny it blows my mind how anyone can call that a special weapon lol.
Fuck sake is this SERIOUSLY the point we’re at now.
People want double primary’s and all the special weapons in the heavy slot again.
This community is so bad hahahaha
@@dochedgehog God no. Just fusions, that’s just my opinion though anyway. I’m ok with all the others and slugs and shotguns are fine minus closing time being so crazy. The game almost plays as bad as double primary anyway cause no one is pushing anyone with how many abilities or having something like a fusion just insta delete you. Fusions wouldn’t be so bad but radar mixed with fusion just makes them so easy. Half charged as I’m sliding and there done.
Destiny players and lack of reading comprehension strikes again
I was like ‘why did he throw that tether down and run away? That’s not helpful’ until I got to 10:55 and saw it all come together. Cam built different (actually uses his brain)
Deadfall allows for actual galaxy brain plays
100% agree on the matchmaking issues. When I have to play against a stack of 2-3 KD players in a *quickplay* game, using the hard meta in a *quickplay* game with no stakes to play for, it's not that fun because I die without really feeling like I learned from my mistakes. I do value opportunities to play against them though, don't get me wrong.
PvP is something that I also come back to in this game because there really isn’t anything like it but bungie just can’t get it together, 2 steps forward with a cool mode and then 3 steps back, checkmate being the prime example, trying new weapons and having special and abilities compliment your primary only to role it into the main game and remove all the good things about the mode
The effects of shotgun buffs
It was the go fast update. That's when pvp when to absolute shit.

@@yungmoneybeetlejuice5201Ah, We found the .83 k/d who likes to special weapons joust with bad connection
My biggest problem with PVP right now is #1 the nonstop ability spam, you can't walk into a engagement with someone without getting frozen or grenaded. #2 Range is the most important stat in PVP and this should not be the case, Gun skill should determine the outcome of a engagement, not whether my gun is slightly out of range or not.
Disagree on the range. If you have good gun skill you'd know your engagement range, and play to that. If you're walking backwards out of your own range thats an indication of a skill issue
The thing with fusion rifle is... its a special weapon which delays engagements too much despite having a single ammo... A special weapon which plays mind games with the opponent without ever committing to a fight to the point where they can revive a teammate just by spamming the charge sound. It should have been a high risk high reward weapon. Bungie could've made it so that if a fusion player tried to fire his weapon its a committed charge.
100% how it should be
Titan here. I wish we had more weapon-centric, ability minimal build options for PvP.
I would love nothing more than to main sweet business/Actium War rig, but high special ammo, ability, and a lack of being able to realistically build into it have kept me from doing it. Prismatic has possibly made it even harder.
Glaives too, specifically their melee. AC/DC is fun, but Glaives still can’t counter shotgun.
As an SMG only player who quit after TFS; my choice has been validated.
You can’t fool me, a fusion main would never apologize.
5:25 Fang of Ir Yut with Keep Away/Precision Instrument was eating people alive in IB
I like when high-skill players complain that there isn't a real Competitive mode to play in. Like, you know as well as I do that that gamemode would be a ghost town because the majority of "high skill" players don't actually enjoy playing against people at or above their skill level. They're still going to flood the "casual" playlist with their sweaty loadouts because they enjoy dropping 80 kill games with multiple we-rans, not competition.
The huge push by these players going onto the forums to complain about SBMM making their games "too sweaty" is a testament to this fact and you're naive if you think they would all migrate to the "real" competitive mode or "dumb down" their loadout in casual matches. People who actually enjoy competition are extremely rare in the gaming space.
Nope, they absolutely would play if their were REAL rewards that are exclusive to the competitive playlist. Rose and the other weapons don’t count because any bot can get them
@@killclip6449 No, they would be carried until they got the drop they wanted, then they would camp out the so-called casual playlist from there on out.
My nearly 30 years of experience playing competitively has shown this to be true.
I recently started playing D1 crucible, and man was it refreshing.
It was goofy, it was unbalanced, but it was fun and didn't feel competitive.
The thing I like most about D1 is that most of your engagements are not "Pow, Pow, You're Dead"
You and the other person spend more then just 2-3 seconds engaging, you have time to breathe, to move, to think.
It's not all just 180's, quick reflexes, and movement tech. It was fun.
Hand cannons pulse rifles and smgs have ruled primary game play since I started in season 12-13. But special weapons own the crucible. It would also be nice to have a game mode focused on primary gun play but hope is currently out of glimmer.
It's frustrating because i know that the special ammo meter fixed this problem. You don't get kills with a primary, you don't get special ammo.
But the new system currently rewards Shotgun and Fusion users. What's stopping anyone from running Knock Out/Diamond Lance Titan with 100 Resil and a shotty?
Folks are complaining about long range "campers" but what else can I do as a Double Primary User? I'm not gonna just stand there and let the Stasis Titan fly around the corner and send me flying, only to kill me in midair with a hand cannon.
Funny how this game has gone full circle back to lane-ing and team shotting like trials of the nine days
Shotguns are a menace in pvp. They get such insane range without even being slug throwers, an if you try to keep range from a shotgun then you run into fusion rifle guy who has autorifle range that 1 shots you.
Plus, the netcode for servers are so bad that you get clipped through walls when on your screen you went behind solid cover but on there screen you havent moved at all.
7:32 where is this video at? Been out of most of Destiny content loop, don't know who drew is, but ears perked up at hearing halo mods.
I miss back in forsaken when everything was useful, granted I've always been a double GL purist after suffering through the Mountaintop Quest, and suffering for the NF quest. Grinding comp for NF made me hate sweating.
I don't mind them toning down ability spam in crucible, but I do hate that they arbitrarily messed with health values, but then buffed almost every special to ignore the health changes, EXCEPT for special GLs, who they only added an impact buff to, but not an aoe buff too, still nerfing them again.
FL's nerf never got reverted after they removed the special ammo system because bungie loves their _"nerf thing, nerf/remove reason for thing's nerf, don't unnerf thing"_ balance design that I have hated for 8 years.
Luckily for me, Alethonym and a Proximity Orewing's has replaced my Spike Militia's and Fighting Lion setup.
What subclass/armor do you like with Alethonym? I'd be kind of interested in hearing a bit more on the playstyle
@@astralluv2051 I use Strand Hunter with Widow's/Maelstrom (as I refuse to stoop and use Spectre after decrying it so much in PvP), and Grapple grenades. 100 discipline, and Frost-335, but honestly there's likely better exotics I could be using, I mainly use it to maximize grapple uptime.
Alethonym allows you to be very mobile, as it's a primary mountaintop, but without the old in-air accuracy nerf they gave mountaintop that gutted it in PvP back in the day, but I dunno if the new version of mountaintop has that or not. Rocketjumping allows you to get into and out of situations that you otherwise wouldn't with a grapple alone. It's also very nice to have a grenade launcher that blows up when you want in close range, as close range players are a bane to gl users.
Orewing's isn't needed, really any energy slot special gl with proximity nades will do, I think it does about 165, at least that's the number I get, meaning a followup shot with Alethonym will guarantee a kill, as neither alethonym nor orewing's/a proximity special grenade launcher will kill in one hit on their own. The direct hit perk on alethonym seems buggy? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Conversely, a single alethonym hit and a strand grapple melee will kill, guaranteeing a tangle. Most players do not expect you to run maelstrom, so it's nice to net more kills, especially because it lasts so long unless you have players that know they can shoot it.
It can do well on it's own, but the main problem facing double GL right now is the fact that everyone and their mother is playing passive with pulses, and typically stand far enough back in a sightline without easy line of sight breaks to beam you down.
Using an smg against a shorty is more rewarding than a fusion.
My biggest complaint is aim assist and or target acquisition. Slugs have too much.
And when it comes to HCs they have too much AA and TA. It’s hilarious that sweats consider them the highest skilled weapons, like we’re both aware of the AA and TA just stop.
There’s just too many things in this game that make it fun that someone else find cheap to make it actually competitive.
Anyone who thinks they have skill in destiny pvp never played any other fps lmao
Well it’s delusional to say any other primaries except super niche and hard to make work exotics take more skill than handcannons.

a little unrelated but I really liked your high-level breakdown of what is actually happening when I’m getting jousted by someone with thrusters/shotgun combo. I feel like when im trying to improve my basics like movement and positioning just to get better overall its hard when I don’t understand some of these things that are going on, but having the context is really helpful and I really appreciate your breakdown of gameplay and would love more content like that.
active knockout can 1 shot 100 resilience guardians without any additional buffs and is easily attainable by simply pressing the melee button as a panic remedy for putting yourself in a disadvantageous situation and getting rewarded because ahaha melee go brrr and then you get a ice lance because you activated a "powered" melee move even though it doesn't actually use up your "powered" melee energy and then you get to go on and harvest your green bricks and kd by pressing the melee button again and chain your kill streak off of that 1 initial melee that you got off in the start
Still less cancerous than any hunter or warlock ability.
@@Samsonfsliterally only titan mains don’t think titans are the most busted in PvP
@killclip6449 oh they're busted, but I'd rather get lanced than constantly slowed, blinded, or have 60% of a map get cut off by a lingering super any day.
I must say, you've really out done yourself with the production this time.
Fusion rifle pre charge was equivalent of Dr Mike from RP making sound effects. Oddly satisfying ❤
Shotguns should have a delay melee (like pre buff glave)
Tightening the special economy would fix so much, I wish bungie would go back to the meter. Even just making special less common and making it so it doesn't drop on death, get rid of the abundance and the push to use it before you die and suddenly special is used more tactically.
Nope 👎
Nothing any of you suggest will “fix” any perceived issues you have with pvp. 10 bloody years of this game and honestly it’s best “balance” happened long ago.
Y’all complain shit in and out of existence every other week.
It’s prismatic today, special weapons tomorrow. It was stasis 4 years ago. Double primaries before that.
The community has 0 through line or any coherent point between 2 people. Which is why Bungie needs to ignore all of you and do something fresh themselves.
@@dochedgehoginsane how I’ve been saying this community is garbage for years and caught so much flak for it,and outside of a few guys like cam, no one knows or is good enough to know what they want or if it’s even good lmao but nah you can’t say that to the d2 community
i've had success using graviton lance and lost signal in 6's. lost signal is great for making sure enemies don't rush towards you, it's more of a zoning tool than a direct damage weapon like having a free grenade every spawn.
I’m being salty but, the amount of shotguns and pulse rifles drives me insane. I don’t know if it’s lag but the way people sprint around corners yet instantly fire off a shotgun blast just blows my mind. Then pulse rifles are too good in general, perfect at mid-long ranges and extremely easy/forgiving. Not playing meta is suffering and I never use meta, hence the saltiness.
There’s a very simple fix to the the issues in the meta.
1. Only 1 charge per ability per life. You can only start recharging your abilities if you get a kill.
2. Pulse rifles should have about the same range as ar’s (like literally every other fps ever)
3. Fusion rifles should be locked into fire the moment you pull the trigger (no more spam charging to pressure people like a loser)
4. Any and all abilities that give you a free kill on someone just because their teammate messed up (warlock electric slide and titan lancecap)
the C in Lodbrok-C stands for "Casually walk down your opponent, no matter the range" I LOVE when shotgun apes rush me, because I just walk backwards and stick lead into their head. SMGs get flinched too much to compete, same with pulses and scouts. Underrated weapon fr.
I like my target lock dynamics sway roll
I think one of the most frustrating things for me was going through the experimentation during season of the witch-wish with special and sometimes how badly it made the sandbox feel for weeks, then when we finally got it somewhat okay with the meter system they completely changed it and made player drop special and there are wall crates. I feel as if there is more special than ever which is frustrating after we spent 3 seasons trying to limit special and make you have to earn it.
Funny that you mention MIDA. I never finished the catalyst and wondered why and it occurred to me, I could run a scout and a sidearm and be good. And I was, for the exact reasons you outlined as the problem.
ironically your guides helped me get into pso2 classic and got me into a fun alliance because i was getting so bored in similar mmr lmao
I’ve been on a quest to increase my cerberus kill count so i can definitely confirm, trying to get into close to mid range is really hard. I find myself going back to the same close quarters areas and waiting for the shotgunner to ape me down and pray that they miss.
I also think the playerbase in d2 doesn't have cajones anymore. I occasionally log in to the game, and pvp. I play smg or sidearm, and a sniper. People just run away all the time
Shotgunners are the reason why I push so hard for ADS in mid-air exotics for titans. Like Empyrean Bellicose or the "bug" for Lion Rampants that released in TFS but since been patched.
Nothing beats the feeling of juking out somebody with a shotgun around the corner while I'm just floating in the air.
Warlock jump is butts. Just gimme what I already had Bungie!!!
2 weeks without cammy felt like 14 days 💔
gonna be honest ive stopped playing d2 like 2 or 3 years ago yet i still watch every Cammy video and Im not even sure why
surprised i didn't see last word brought up
I feel you nailed it when saying they "can't maintain" things.
Iron Banner was my only real PvP experience, I enjoyed and cared about it, I feel I can speak about it confidently. But its hard to give constructive Criticism on this stuff when I don't have faith in Bungie to make any positive changes permanent.
12:00 I’d argue that Warframe is Destiny’s competitor, the only thing holding it back from being true competition is its lack of PvP.
It has PvP but it’s not polished or worked on enough to relatively compete. If DE got down to business on conclave I guarantee the people making the switch (there’s already a lot) would multiply exponentially.
There needs to be mayhem 24/7. I hate having to wait a fuckingmonth and a half just to play mayhem again.
Don't murder me for this. I like to use cerberus+1 for these fights. Especially with the catalyst perk you can outdamage some pulse users if you're slightly past medium range and still be safe from the shotgun/fusion users.
For me i feel like compare to other game there is a few things like you said with shotgun and smg ... BUT this is not the problem because if you push someone that have a shotgun it is ok that you get one shot.
For the Close range the big problem that will be hard to fix is THE MELEE DAMAGE AND MECANIC.
Melee one shot an oponent red bar if if don't have shield anymore.
Melee also make you dash/tp, shaks opponent screen witch is completly OP and other abuses in games.
Ok this is more use in casual than comp but it make the pvp feel squetchy and maybe that is why people prefer to PVE.
5:58 that tether should’ve hit the wall in n from of you as when it shot your relic was Clearly on the wall directly to your right.
All I’m saying is if that was a nova bomb it would’ve blown up in my face. Stop playing the cheese classes in PvP!!! SKILL ISSUE
I tend to do my best in the mid-long range fights. I have a fully crafted piece of mind with the ballistics mod on, and i pair it with tresspasser for the closer fights.
What if Fusion rifles lost accuracy the more you pre charge them? No accuracy penalty for a single clean charge, but as you start cancelling the charge repeatedly, you keep losing accuracy.
the thing that frustrates me most with crucible is the amount of ability spam. it has come to a point where abilities are just as or more important than the gun skill. I hope bungie doesn’t just extend the cooldown of abilities but also tone down their power, including supers.
I've always thought in the three years I have in destiny pvp that fusions should fire if the trigger is hit with no option to cancel. Also high impact pulse rifles should be a 6 head 0 body two burst and 5/1 with headseeker, there should not be forgiveness in the thing that kills fastest in it's engagement range
Metas like this are why I use Lunafaction Boots and Sanguine Alchemy on my Warlock with Fusions and the 120 Solar Scout. Gives me a fighting chance without depending entirely on what the meta is (always has been, honestly).
As an Arcstrider, I yearn for hands. It's all I desire.

Just prior to the introduction of Void 3.0 (the first to get the update during WQ), Season of the Lost and the 30th Anniversary update had the most balanced meta of all time IMO. Shatterdive had just gotten nerfed (it was the last remaining Stasis ability crutch after Beyond Light launched), BattleEye just got introduced and *temporarily* reduced the cheating problem, Super cooldown tiers were introduced, Trials solo/duo queue was added for the first time, Comp was revamped, and the meta overall was mid-ranged weapon dependent, not ability dependent. Bungie must’ve fired whoever was in charge of that sandbox because it’s been downhill ever since.
Bungie can either find the golden miracle that magically solves the ability meta in PvP while also nerfing pulse rifles OR they could just say “fuck it” and buff DMT hipfire again.
@6:45 try the reduced zoom mod on prophet. Total game changer for the 120 scouts, I love it.
I still use smgs, often with a pulse and in the lobbies i end up in i usually do pretty well but i won't deny i gotta work for my kills, i honestly find the best way to deal with shotguns and fusions as someone who mains an smg is honestly to find places where i force the other person to be in a position with bad/no cover between me and them
I think for primary balancing they should base the ttk of how much range something has and how good it is at peak shotting and other certain gimmicks weapons have but also bring ranges closer together, for a simple example a auto would have 0.8(average range of 30 to 40m and not a peak shot weapon), a 140 would have a 0.9ttk( 35 to 45m range and it can peak shot) then high impact pulses should have maybe a 0.95ttk (range of 40 to 50m and fairly ok peakshots), thats mostly numbers I've put becausebwithout testing they do kinda seem fair but its all just an example and not the same as in game values obv
i think it would be interesting if they made fusions function like how the cold war from titanfall works. once you initiate the charge theres no cancelling it, to balance this they could then stretch fusion rifles range out further
It's really frustrating to feel like I'm being punished for trying something new and off-meta. Black Ops 2 was the FPS that made me fall in love with the genre and it's weapon balance was great. It felt like I could use anything and succeed with it with enough practice. Most of the time I'm just hoping D2 gets to that point but I've started to seriously doubt it ever will.
Man I miss full original checkmate & the special ammo meter system, no special on spawn, 3 melees to kill, etc.
Whilst not perfect, I see that it allowed a lot of room for different playstyles and created a more fair/consistent environment the more I looked back
1. You can run sidearms/SMGs without the fear of being smashed by a special 70% of the time thanks to their limited up-time from the meter system
2. additionally to #1 - Original checkmate defined clear weaknesses whilst creating fair opportunities for each weapon class to utilize their strengths especially with the increase to TTK (Including handcannon 4-tap etc.)
4. Specials actually felt special, it made them a juiced up option of play that caters to your preferred style - albeit having limited up-time which justifies their lethality
3. Slower ability cooldown means that abilities that are built for crowd control won't be present in every engagement [Though IMO, I think abilities need to be adjusted individually based on what their role(s) is [Chip Damage - Crowd Control - Area Denial - Sustain] . So abilities like smoke, swarm, etc. don't accidentally sweep a blanket nerf for abilities that are overall much more balanced] (Though think abilities are in a good spot in their respective pure subclass kits currently, I think its just prismatic allowing for some pretty potent synergies tend to overshine them]
Overall at least for myself, part of me feels that they walked back on a lot of changes from their testing with checkmate and allowed certain playstyles/archetypes to "Break" the rules alongside with the addition to prismatic ultimately landed us to the Crucible environment we have today
I may be wrong, as Crucible balance is such a wide net of interactions and my perspective is only so limited to what I genuinely believe - but I feel that if they forwarded some of the changes they originally had from their first iteration of checkmate could allow for a better perspective of what a good basis of balance could look like
Though other peeps in the comments also made some good points, my favorite being, map-design alongside
Thanks for my ted talk
Had a lot of success with Rapid-Fire Scouts recently
Would be cool to have a pvp mode with no abilities, super, or exotic armor. You also only get one nade every other round.
Personally, I'm tired of having to worry about some broken ability that will be spam every season. So I would personally appreciate a water downed pvp mode where only guns and your aiming matters.
I really wish bungie would seperate stow and ready speed from aim down sight speed, it should be frame dependant and it really makes me sad how broken weapons like deadlock, zealots, and (new) glacioclasm are because they simply make every other fusion and shotgun obsolete
There’s already a competitive playlist. It’s called skilled matchmaking…or at least that’s basically what it’s supposed to do.
I guess I'm one of the few people that isn't a peacekeeper titan maining an SMG. I find the playstyle rather fun combined with blink, so I can get in and out of fights quickly. I agree on the frustration part, though it's still fun when engaging in close range works. If it's a competitive match though I switch to dead man's tale which I hip-fire almost exclusively.
I took a huge break from Destiny 2 from right around the release of Lightfall to about 3 weeks ago. I was a somewhat avid PVP player, and man I thought I went back in time to vanilla with the pulse rifle safety gamers. The sandbox feels super slow and every game is medium to long range engagements on whose Elsie's, graviton, or no time kills first. Not really the most engaging crucible experience I've had. That much is for sure.
I was also really surprised to see how much hand cannons have fallen off. Even in some of the slower metas you still had a very heavy hand cannon useage. Ive been in games where not a single person is even using one, and that was unthinkable to me until I started playing again. Im not saying they arent good weapons, just that the "safety" aspect of the sandbox is so strong right now people dont want to be in the close-mid range engagements they need to shine (not saying they dont exist, just don't see them as much as the past)
Literally gave my friend a Ted talk on why smgs suck and shotguns are waaaayyy toooo op. Unless your a god with them, snipers are also unplayable if you get seen before you shoot.
Played with you yesterday on IB Pacifica. It was an honor mercying the other team with a 🐐
the voop boys are out in full force
Please get that rangefinder video out! Some of us older players still use it to offset bad vision 😂
I agree with quite a bit of this but I have been playing around with the hynra strand hunter build and I honestly haven’t had a single issue with shotguns, it’s extremely reliant on having very good air aim and movement but if you can get that down it’s is an extremely easy counter for apes and campers, not to mention bow + glaive has got to be the most fun weapon combo
Meanwhile you got me playing with Anonymous Autumn, and doing okay XD
Hard disagree. I'm not a fan of the sandbox but it's mostly because I never have special. I mainly snipe and it can be a struggle countering team shooters in the back of the map. Plus the gameplay is more fun that way. I'm not saying I don't use my primary weapon, but having special when I need it would be nice instead of shooting a shot and no longer having any in trials.
Bungie: instructions unclear, nerfed titans
Thanks for the insight. I like your take on this.
Bungo: “we are buffing shotguns and fusions because of our new special ammo meter system decreasing the amount of special on the field” *
*immediately removes special ammo meter system, adds special ammo crates, guaranteed special brick on primary kill…. 🤦♂️
I felt CRAZY thinking that Rangefinder wasn't dead. Every single damn content creator seemed to follow the "RF is literally a dead perk now" train and I kept being clowned on for knowing the truth. Glad to see GOATmycakes also be an enlightened one.
Rangefinder before the nerf that made it apparently worthless:
- Damage falloff increase
- Aim assist falloff increase
- Accuracy increase
- Stability increase
- Visual zoom increase
Rangefinder after that nerf:
- Aim assist falloff increase
- Accuracy increase
- Stability increase
- Visual zoom increase
DEAD PERK BTW.
All of the buffs you mentions are literally so small that it doesn’t matter. The only part of rangefinder that made it good was that it gave every weapon 2+ more meters
@killclip6449 Tell me that you haven't used Rangefinder without telling me that you haven't used rangefinder. I am consistently hitting five taps with 140s in scout range with it, not even a meme. It's insane.
I’ve been an smg main since y1 and somehow made them work during 11m pellets, backup plan fusions, stasis prime, 120s, dmt, etc but now it feels the worst it’s ever been
